Actually it seems like R&L were criticizing the misrepresentation of OCD, and they obviously did an in depth conversation around that on their podcast. And I think that’s okay, cause R&L are older men with an older audience. Adults with critical thinking skills and the ability to distinguish nuance and satire can make that distinction…Brent’s audience is primarily kids. I think that’s what makes Brent’s copy so bad, because it’s not concerned with destigmatization or clarifying disordered experiences, it’s just attempting to get views.

@@tokyoyoongi5538 the disclaimer wasn't referring to the stigma but to the "funny way of portraying ocd" portraying something means that you have to do it at least correctly, not just using wrong beliefs of people in the name of views and followers. also... nobody really read the description, if you REALLY have to do a video like this you have to put the disclaimer in the beginning inside of the video, not in a section just 1% of people will actually see.

Wasabi Productions used to be huge when I was a kid- probably the same age Brent was when he copied their video. I understand him doing it as a kid, but not now, when he’s a grown man with millions of subscribers! the degree to which brent rivera copies other creators has always really bugged me and no one cares. that’s the thing about making kids content, you can get away with straight up plagiarism because the audience isn’t going to be upset about it. when untalented people become famous this is one route they take because they don’t know how to come up with things on their own

Alex and Roy were honestly funny and really entertaining to watch. Brent's videos were always boring and over the top. Now I know why I never found him funny, cuz I already watched better creators make the same content. Can't believe people still watch him. Brent isn't funny, he isn't a creator and shouldn't be famous. It's embarrassing lol.
