that had to be the most out of pocket and obscure opening sketch to any RU-vid video ever but im here for it. this is what i subscribed to the Saji Sharma channel for.
@@hecknfrick4236 his wife was found not guilty, their argument was the other boat was not well lit, there was no moonlight (…idk how that is) and no surrounding places with lights . The judge rejected the idea she might have been impaired by alcohol as well.
would like to mention that "quiet quitting" is literally just "work according to how you're paid and what your job duties are, not going above and beyond for nothing in return." Like the fact that that has been painted as "unacceptable" by the upper class is honestly disgusting. Love the billionaire take of "how DARE you, I'm not upping your pay, but you better work like I am or you don't deserve these 5 cents I'm paying you 😡😡😡"
Hello all, i cut out the portion of the vid where jacob and i discuss the g slur as to not accidentally offend Romani people. I appreciate those of you that informed us on its weight, we had no idea. We will no longer be using the word :)
Just wanted to leave a message of support, because it's great to see creators taking responsibility and fixing their mistake quickly and without drama, and it should absolutely be encouraged! I really enjoyed the video, you guys are hilarious and have great chemistry!
Romani woman here! Don’t know why people are so up in arms about you saying Gypsy, I have no problem with it. People love to complain in the name of woke ness when it has nothing to do with them. As long as you don’t say it to be overtly cruel, I don’t care 🤷♀️
"Student loan forgiveness is not fair to people who can't afford college." Says the man whose mommy and daddy paid for his education. Student loan forgiveness is for the people who went to college and can't afford it. That's literally the point, right?
Says the man whose mommy and daddy paid for his CANADIAN education, nonetheless. In the 70's. I went to school in 2013-2016 and I think my tuition was about $1200/term? I can't even imagine how much cheaper it was for him smh
Yeah, and even for the people who got loans and paid them off, this mindset is so dumb. If we based everything off of this, we would never progress at all, bc it would be “unfair” to the people who suffered
it makes me really happy that my boyfriend and his friend group all tell each other “I love you” when they leave somewhere or hang up a call or leave the game party
jumped around from chad chad to kurtis to jacob to here, yall are a great community of people who just.. dont suck and honestly thats the most you can get from a youtube community so thank you all for being the best people you can be!
For context on the usage of gyp - the etymology is contested! The word g/psy, however, is widely considered a slur, and many Romani people prefer Romani or their specific culture (Roma/Rroma, Sinti, etc.). Jacob is correct that one of the proposed origins of the word is from the extremely antiziganist (anti-romani) stereotypes about theft and crime, and many people avoid the word for this reason. However, there's also a good chance that older people, particularly from outside of Europe, would not be aware of these connotations, as even the g slur itself is still used in official language throughout the world.
@@loveinstars yes - my comment was clarifying that older folks might not know, not saying that it's fine. Explanation, not justification! Hope that helps
I grew up hearing “life isn’t fair” so much in my small town. My mom was sick when I was growing up, and all of her paycheck went to hospital bills and medicine, so we really struggled. We ended up on food stamps, and people really looked down on us because of that without even asking why we needed them to begin with. To the same people whining about student loans I bring this to the table- “life isn’t fair.”
"Quiet quitting" is *actually* called Working-to-rule. It's ridiculous that we are expected to go above and beyond out job descriptions to maintain a job
What really gets me about the push of grind culture is like not everyone can be at the top because then there is no top, it either doesn’t function (if you don’t have 9-5ers who tf makes the company run and function?) or everyone is then already at the same level so the “need” for competition or to be the better one is never ending. It’s just a self serving cycle that needs to be broken.
Yeah, I was just really annoyed when I initially heard the term because you’re not ‘quitting’ anything! Quitting implies that you’re no longer effectively participating in your job when you are - you are fulfilling your contract to a t. You are not hiding your withdrawal from your job, you’re just not over-committing & over-working because it is not required by your work!!
it's so hit or miss!! it's legit just an activity people do; the people outside of that can be however good or bad they are. never understood why ppl are always like "hes so chilled and cool bc he smokes" like nah, a lot of the stoners i know are shitty people lmao
It doesn't make you good OR bad. It does a lot of good and helps so many people in so many ways but like any other drug, you should educate yourself on it and it's side effects. I just wanted to add that though it is at times glamorized, it is also demonized more than it should be. Regardless everyone is different and reacts different to substances.
@@ewbrainwormies yes bae! Practice safe consumption, clean your b*ngs! I'm an every day smoker and I do rely on weed if its nearby, def something to consider. The smoking part becomes a habit too, like just the action of taking a hit on a b*ng. I'm in Canada and there is still such a stigma even tho its legal. Lots of stores won't stock good priced glasswear cause it associates them w stoners and casual smoking 🙄
this is for Jacob: the word gypped is a derogatory word tho it is not considered a slur gypsy is one to the Romani people so in future reference please say Romani rather than gypsy because it is rather harmful
Hey! I'm Romani, just wanted to piggyback here. Gypsy isn't necessarily a slur, though it had been used in pejorative context before, most Romani/Romani descent folks would be privvy to agree that its not a slur. I always appreciate the good intentions behind these statements but it's usually based in a level of misguided kindness. Context is everything
ive only heard people talking about shark tank in passing so this is legitimately the first time ive heard mr. wonderful's real name. but *of course* his name is kevin
Damn....just realized I'm a rich kid cuz I'm bffs with my mom....gotta contact the government and tell them to cancel all my student aid for college....
Abt the gyp/gypsy part The terms are derogatory but not necessarily slurs some use them as slurs though so a lot of Romani people don’t like/use the term anymore and some other Romani people have reclaimed it. It depends on who you ask
@@BabyJesus66 It truly depends on the person/area. Sinti people around my area hate the word because it was the N*zi “deplorables” classification term. Sinti who were imprisoned in the ghettos went to “g* ghettos” and those sent to the gas chambers left on the “g* train.” Couple years back a mobile home community was set on fire and the slur sprayed on the walls. Just like most slurs the general rule applies: those who were oppressed with it can choose if they want to use/reclaim it, others should not use it regardless of intent.
He basically says that he's always working while simultaneously pretending he's earned his money, but he also says he has lots of freedom and free time! 😆 🤣 😂
Kevin O’Leary is literally the son of a skilled investor. His mother had a giant investment portfolio and taught him how to trade. She was also a business owner and his dad was a salesman. He inherited a large mount of money from his mother when she died. He is also a corporate raider who acquired multiple companies via hostile takeover. He has never worked a day in his life and he has certainly not worked for everything he has. He sucks
I can't stand how.much I love Jacob lmao. He's always making me lose my breath from laughing, his impression of someone calling elon musk a nice guy was perfect.
It's so strange how people like this are SO CLOSE to being aware of how terrible the economic system is, but instead of concluding "huh, we should rework the system so it helps more people", their answer is to pretend that the playing field is equal and project a moral failing onto those who the system oppresses, so they can accept the random unfairness of the system and the benefits they get without cognitive dissonance. Also...do you REALLY want everyone to be an entrepreneur? Society can't function if EVERYONE does the same job. Pretty sure you want people to make your clothes and food and build your houses. They just have to pretend that those people could CHOOSE to be rich like them if they tried, so they don't have to worry about the ones that don't.
Um for the bit on only rich kids are close with their parent…..there are many cultures where that is common because of how close nit the family unit is so that did not land well in my opinion.
I just wanted to point out that is toxic to promise your child financial security and then abandon them in their most vulnerable moments. Just because you're a rich kid, doesn't mean you aren't an abuse victim. This Kevin guy sucks but 22:00 ish reads as mommy issues. Ask every rich kid, they would go without the money, its the fact that your parents want to screw you over at every turn and then blame you for it. I know it's not relatable to have a college fund, but I have no money of my own and I'm disabled so can barely earn. I am financially forced to live with my abusive mother. It's not all fun and games to be a rich kid.
He pulled a right wing coup d'ête in Bolivia with American support. The people fought back and won . It took a year or two of fighting. Elon had the goal to level the Amazon Rainforest to mine it for lithium. Hemp provides more energy than lithium FYI. It makes a better battery and more eco friendly fuel
Too on brand because I DO have a bunch of homework due but my professor will understand because I am an entrepreneur of my own happiness. Time to watch more TV.
Business school is basically "how to exploit the current system 101" so honestly, I'm subbed to keep Saji in school I will infuse a blessing into my like to keep crypto-bros far away from your lunch socks, though
i gotta be honest, i have kind of a complex that makes me feel ashamed whenever i get too well along with my mom and dad, because i want to be independent (financially as well as mentally), and i lately i have been really working to overcome that and fixing my bond with my parents, so saying im a rich kid for being friends with my parents kinda hurt me a little. i guess i should get over that capitalist rags to riches mentality and be grateful for what love and stability i have now that we are finally working on that family trauma. its no encanto, but close enough ya know
I’m poor as fuck, but I’m sorta best friends with my mom. When you go through so much hardship, and your parent does too, it makes sense you would look to your mom to get by, and be there for you emotionally.
I get that. I’m disabled and socially isolated, which means I’m 100% financially reliant on my parents and they’re basically my only friends. It makes me feel like shit about myself even though I’m really grateful for how much easier they’ve made my life.
When I was 12 my grandpa would jokingly ask “you got a job yet kid?” But it made me wonder where I’d wanna work and then my parents would point out hiring signs with good pay, I applied for a job at 15 and got it (luckily) and that job I quit to go to college and its why I can survive without one in college rn 🙌🙌
19:13 the only reason i haven't done any quiet quitting is bc in customer service, if ur short one person on the floor it can be catastrophic and i never wanna do that to coworkers i actually like
they should follow suit then, instead of everyone being left in hellish conditions, you should ALL stop doing the extra work until your employee either pays you more or hires more workers.
Not as rich as SharkMan but my parents are able to help me a ton through college. The fact I'm able to be at college is because of them, and I know damn well that I'd be floundering trying to work and study otherwise. It's not being self-made, it's being lucky enough to have parents who were also lucky.
J learned about the Horatio Alger myth, that most these billionaires advertise and truly believe. That anyone, despite their poverty, can become rich through hard work. Not possible for everyone.
