Ya know how your parents (older people in general) say "music was better back in my day"? Well, if they are talking about 1970..... They are 100% CORRECT!!! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_Year-End_Hot_100_singles_of_1970 Look at this top 100 list! Jackson 5, CCR, Santana, The Beatles, The Temptations, Sly & the Family Stone, Mountain, War.... The list goes on and on. Bands back then HAD to inject soul & funk into their sound, or else no one would care! There was just a higher standard of 'good music' back then. Compare this to later examples of "pop" music. Horrendous. This band is new discovery. Pure Southern Rock/Soul/Funk..... Beautiful!! Thank you RU-vid!!

This made my heart beat faster. Brethern opened for Steve Winwood (Blind Faith?) in the early 70s. They blew me away. I still hear several of their songs in my head and remember all the words in my head after more than 50 years.

That's fitting...a part of the last song of the first album (29:00) has the same chord progression from "In the Presence of the Lord".

I know I've missed alot of really astounding music..been playing catch up ever since 1967 😂 but this band i somehow missed till now. 3 for a Dollar, my god man I'd pay 300. to see these guys live... mabe 10$ back in the day !!! I love country rock beginning with Sweethearts of The Rodeo and continuing to NRPS and Garcia ❤❤

I think the guitar player is Tommy Cosgrove. worked with him a bit when he was in Toronto Ca. in the early 80's. Absolutely loved the time with him and still miss him plenty.

Saw them open several shows at the Capitol in Port Chester NY around the time of the first LP. They were outstanding -- Tom Cosgrove and bassist Stu Wood were a wonderful team.
