Cuz he has seen halloween before and horror films. The original Halloween is a fairly tame film. Masterpiece of its time, birthed a genre if horror I love, but tame by today's standards. I suppose it should be viewed within the context of its time Thing is, its all new to Brett

@@jkfozul2316 i agree..... dunno if you have but don't watch halloween ends..... its so stupid, makes little to no sense and is ultimately an unsatisfactory slasher film when you expect the grandfather of all slashers to be great- fucking misses the open goal. I always loved Alien 1979 but recently it played in a theater on the big screen for one night only. Seeing all the detail of the sets, the sound and big screen made me realise Alien is probably my favorite film of all time. Truly magical and timeless!

@@KlaustheVikingI know some people hate the talking throughout but it creates a fun relaxed atmosphere. I only hate it when people point out something they don’t like or how a character is stupid repeatedly. To me that seems like you’re just seeking validation for being smarter. But overall I think people should talk during films. It’s kind of dumb to sit down for over an hour with friends/families and not say a word.

Yeah her exspressions are adorable.Every time she was jump scared she would cover her mouth or put her hands over her eyes anticipating a scary scene. But I suspect she could handle any situation after watching her at that firing range.

I watched the Insidious movies as a preteen and other such movies from late 2000’s and early 2010’s, it just got old fast

For summertime viewing, we had “Night of Fear”,all night broadcasts of Horror movies. Frankenstein, Godzilla, giant scorpions and god knows what from outer space. And a bit of Jack the Ripper. Good thing the sun comes up early in the summer. Then we weren’t afraid of the dark anymore. Fun times.

Horror movies have been a winning formula for young couples on a date since the genre was invented.

I usually don't squirm much watching horror movies but this one got me. Also, any Takashi Mikki film. That dude has some of the most disturbing films I've ever seen, like Audition.

Yes, watching 'Halloween' on VHS is wonderful and even the lower resolution compared to a DVD, Blu-ray, or 4K disc actually ADDS more creepy atmosphere for sure. Aside from owning several VHS VCR's including SuperVHS ET VCR's; all of which I bought cheaply from local thrift stores for $5 to $15, I also bought a Panasonic VHS camcorder from an eBay seller several months ago and I watched some great horror movies using the built-in VCR of the camcorder hooked up to my TV for a classic home movie-watching experience, so keep enjoying watching 'Halloween' and other movies on VHS. It's a lot of fun indeed. :)

Halloween didn’t “start” it all, but it made slashers “mainstream”. Without Halloween, there’s not f13, nightmare on elm street etc. plus Halloween also started a lot of the horror tropes we see today. Definitely one of, if not the most influential horror movie ever made

@@ronstout yeah I know, like I said I think most people point towards Halloween due to the impact it had. Psycho came out in 1960 and there wasn’t really any follow up to it. Halloween came out and within 5-7 years there was like 100 movies that have came out that copied it. People do need to recognize though the influence psycho and black Christmas had on Halloween, not so much tcm. John carpenter himself has even acknowledged it
