Rahsaan Norris I grew up watching Bret Favre he was my favorite Quarterback to watch. That was when I was real young. I actually fell in love with the Patriots when I started to understand the sport. I started watching with Bledsoe he was great. Then Brady came along. Favre was amazing athletic wise. Brady is the smartest QB to ever play the game. He is the greatest at winning championships.

+andrew pestotnik Favre struggled in his last year in Green Bay and he was feeling pressure from the fans and the organization to retire since the had Aaron Rodgers waiting in the wings. The organization didn't "make him retire," because he's a legend and arguably their franchise's greatest player ever. but they wanted him to volunteer. He was def feeling the pressure.
@Aliain12
@Aliain12 7 лет назад
Andrew Pestotnik yes! It's like the packs were hinting at him to retire. Yes they had rogers in the wing. Favre felt he had more in him. So that's why he came out of retirement resentful at the Packers and himself I'm sure for convincing him to retire

History will undoubtedly list Brett Favre as one of the finest quarterbacks to have ever played the game. Sunday after Sunday, season over season, without a hitch, he was there. He played his heart out no matter what his team was doing or what the stats that year showed. Through winning seasons and those best forgotten, Favre never gave less than his total commitment to the game and played with the kind of consistant skill not often seen these days. He will be sorely missed. We love ya big guy.

I don't care what anyone says, his retirement might not have been real, but those tears were. He did love Green Bay and he gave his heart and soul for us Packer fans. One of the best I've ever seen right there.

I can't believe it. I had been a Raiders fan all of my life, and still am, but from the first time I saw Brett play, I was also a Packers fan. He was incredible the way he played the game like a kid, and he did it right up to the end. His off balanced short pass in the Seahawks playoff game was classic. The game is losing a legend, and someone who truly played the game the way it should be. Brett will be missed badly.

Without question, one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and one of the finest human beings to ever live. Brett didn't play for the money or the fame, he played because of his love for football. The fact that he played so many consecutive games, lord knows he was injured in so many of them, shows what kind of a warrior he was and how much he loved to compete. God Bless you Brett! Thank you for the past 17 years. The game won't be the same without #4 on the field.

@cameronhirtle7316
@cameronhirtle7316 4 года назад
He may have retired but that was not the Packers decision. You retire, you give up your spot. Period. Rodgers would not have resigned if they held onto Favre and TBH Favre lost the argument with the pick against the Saints in the NFC Championship. It was like his third pick to end a playoff for his team run that I can remember. Other two that come to mind are the Giants and the Eagles picks. He was still good, sure, but he could never shake that habit of throwing an ill-advised pass. It really killed him later in his career. He had a good laugh that first year with the Vikings, sweeping the Pack. Then next year was a disaster and Rodgers lead the Packers to a Championship. Yeah, Packers made the right move.

Well spoken, so many players in the NFL today play for their own personal glory, ego, and greed. Favre was the last of a dying breed of true competitors who played for the love of the game, the fans, and for the sake of the league itself. Football isn't going to be the same without him, it's going to be tough getting used to not seeing him on sundays, and especially on monday nights, where he shined the most. Hope he still stays connected to the game in some capacity. Thanks for the memories

Great to see fans of other teams throughout the NFL respect Brett so much. You are a true sportsman sir. Steve Young was a great quarterback as well, he doesn't get as much recognition as he should because he played in Montana's shadow. To be honest with you I used to worry when the packers had to face the niners in the playoffs because they always gave them a run for their money and finally did defeat them in the 1998 season. Thanks for the positive words man and God Bless!

ok, I only got to see the first 5 minutes on espn because I was in California at the time on vacation, but I just got back and watched the whole thing. I cried, but after watching the whole conference it made me get a little closure and as much as I want to keep watching him play, I feel better about his decision. What a football player, but especially what a guy. Can't say enough about him. He will be greatly missed, not just because he was so fun to watch, but because he was one of us...
@stephaniejane81
@stephaniejane81 16 лет назад
I feel so blessed to have had this man as our quarterback for 16 years. You don't see that character in many NFL players these days. Yes, he may have started out cocky, but he grew and changed into a better person while still maintaining his same fun personality. no one like him, never will be again. and the stats honestly aren't what stick out to me, it's the way he played the game and how fun he was to watch. it's tough to let go, but like he said, all good things must come to an end...

Also, for those that wonder why he cried...I hope that there is something you love in your lifetime that when its time is over, you cry too. Obviously you have never played in ANY organized sports...and no...kite flying doesn't count...and you have never been in the military. But when you go out every week and dedicate your life to something that you truely love, when you have to walk away from it...you do just what he did...leave it all on the field. Dedication and love for the game. Honorable.
