Brett has subtly put together a great Yankee career. While home runs are not exactly his game, he has still managed to pop off a fair amount of dramatic bombs. Here are his 10 best. Brett The Jet
That inside the park homer gets me every time. Imagine playing at Yankee Stadium, the most storied franchise ever, the crowd roaring and cheering you on as you sprint across each bag until a climactic end at the plate, the stadium absolutely rocking because of what you just did. Gotta be one of the best feelings ever.
I've always felt that the inside-the-park homer was one of the great underrated moments of that 2009 season. He'd come into that game as a replacement for Johnny Damon, who was ejected for arguing a called third strike, and then he just hits a bloop that turned into so much more thanks to Span's misplay and Brett's tremendous speed. That led to a pretty awesome weekend of walkoffs, and was truly the first time that season where I felt like they had something special.
That’s only half of the story man. Before the game he went to a hospital and a little girl with cancer made him a bracelet and told him it would help him hit a home run and his next game he hit that inside the park home run
@@dougbrowne9890 no it shouldn’t but ur stupid for thinking so PS I know ur being scarcastic and I DONT CARE he isn’t a god but he is still very good to be able to get 100 hrs and 250 SB about 1 percent of players who play 1 game hit 100 home runs.
@@danielreshef5299 As a Yankees fan, I agree, to a degree. I say that because the Yankees only scored 3 runs in the 4 games in Houston. You can't win that way. The Astros offense definitely cheated in the series, but their cheating had no direct effect on the Yankees offense not producing.
I remember #1 so well. I missed the game that day cuz I had school and when I came home I saw the highlights and I got excited when I saw Gardner hit that go ahead 3-run HR down to their final strike
