I’ve actually got a Neheb Dragon’s Approach deck. It works really well at getting them into the graveyard with about 30 in the deck total, and refilling your hand and getting that much mana means you can cast a Dragon’s Approach after combat incredibly reliably. It’s been really fun and one of my favorite decks recently!
I also have a Neheb Dragon's Approach deck, but it's the other mono-red Neheb that add mana for the amount of damage dealt. More spellslingery and less discardy. Only running 4 dragons in the deck and 30 dragon's approaches
Jadar is like having a reassembling skeleton as a commander and that's an amazing aristocrats card so I don't know how you can call Jadar underwhelming
Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia has definitely been a legendary that I've come back too again and again thinking about the possibilities for the exact same reason. Getting a free body that then just dies just by turning it sideways is *huge* in mono-black. Usually you have to pay mana for it and this dude just gives it to you?! Insane. Big fan.
Neheb is a really powerful card, even more than his other versions with the discard support we keep getting ! It is not that much underwhelming but I love that you talked about it, it was my first "cEDH" deck ! He plays really well with aggravated assault obviously but he can use Underworld Breach and an extra combat spell so well it is bonkers !
Jadar is actually really good; i made him an edh deck and its crazy always having a zombie to sacrifice for instants, cards like kalitas, and helps with aristocratic effects. He looks underwhelming but when the deck synergy is around sacking creatures its becomes a strong deck that ppl sleep on until your board get big and they lose half their life. I like to play commanders ppl dont and also ones that get instantly get me hated since im known to budget decks really well even when under $100.
I have a friend who had a Neheb deck and he played Competitively with it. To me, Jadar and Neheb are not underwhelming commanders and instead are either Unpopular or Underappreciated commanders.
If in the Neheb deck with psychosis crawler out, you decide to pitch your entire hand, does it: Die because you'll have 0 cards in hand at some point of the effect? Live because its power and toughness are only checked after the resolution of the entire trigger?
Hey I'm a month too late but no, psychosis crawler wouldn't die because it's ability is a state based effect. It checks after the wheel is resolved what it's power and toughness are.
