I had an aunt and uncle who loved blockbuster so much that every time I went to visit, we went. Well, a few years pass, and I visit again. We didn't go. My cousin's N64 and Sega games all suspiciously had blockbuster cases. I asked "Don't you have to return those?" My aunt, who is supposed to be setting a good example, mind you... Said "What are they gonna do?" They never did shit.

I still have a VHS hooked up to a TV in the spare bedroom. Every now and again I'll watch some old VHS home movies or something that I just haven't been able to get on disk or any other medium. In that box of VHS tapes that I have, I probably have about 10 to 12 old blockbuster movies. What did they do about it? Nothing, they closed.

My mom used to manage a blockbuster and I got to bag up the movies for people during the summers. Also we got all the cool movie posters and stuff! Great times!

This place was magical as a kid but became the exact opposite of magical once I began working there... It was 2007-2008 and these bastards were still using MS-DOS for anything computer related. The first time I worked there I was a Junior in high school and on my first day the manager just randomly tells me that I will be staying until 3am-4am doing inventory. Obviously with it being my first day I had not been told that I would be working until 4am ahead of time because if I had i'd have told her "I'm still in school and I have exams tomorrow so that's gonna be a NO from me Dawg." I truly lucked out that day as the job I had interviewed for and actually wanted called me offering the job, plus the pay was $2 more than cheap ass Blockbuster. After my break was over I walked back into the store and gave the manager my shirt/name tag and wished her the best of luck with her night/morning full of doing inventory.

As a kid, I got an N64 for Christmas and inherited a lot of games from my cousin and one of them was Pokémon Stadium (and the other 3D Pokémon game) It was the best game I’ve ever played, my favorite aspect was the announcer making me feel cool. Only other game that gave me that feeling as a kid was Super Smash Bros, which we rented from a local small business every so often

Fuck yeah! Pokemon Stadium was the shit! Those mini games were so fucking fun. I would fucking destroy at the Sandshrew one. And by destroy I mean, I would destroy the shoulder buttons on my N64 controller. Kids these days are missing out IMO. Edit: Everyone probably is better than me at that mini game. Being the youngest child it was the only one I would actually win at. Thanks Brewstew for bringing back good memories.
