Sachin and his strong allies: Sehwag, Ganguly, Dravid, Laxman, Yuvraj, Kambli, Sidhu, etc. Ponting and his allies: Hayden, Gilchrist, Damien Martin, Bevan, Waugh brothers, Hussey, Clarke etc Kallis and his strong partners: Gibbs, Graeme Smith, Amla, ABD, Boucher, Duminy and many more middle order strong SA all rounders. Sangakkara and his strong partners: Jayawardene, Jayasurya, Attapattu, Desilva, Dilshan, Matthews and many more all rounders plus good bowling attack. Inzamam: His partners: Anwar, Sohail, Younis, Yousuf etc Now Brian Charles Lara: Neither strong batting partners nor good attacking bowlers from his team. Still single handedly he made so many records. This makes him even better than Viv Richards who had lot of support from his team mates. This makes him different from others. Just my opinion not to offend anyone. Cheers!!!!
2007 world cup marks the end of many cricketing legends when compared to other world cups...From Lara to McGrath ~ From Inzamam to Hayden and many more😭😢
2003 wc was last match for: Aravinda de silva Gary kirsten Allan donald Jonty rhodes Wasim akram Waqar yunus Andy flower Grant flower Andrew caddick Naser hussein Alec stewart Shane warne Srinath
@@White742 And how does Kohli have a better team anyways? NZ is objectively the superior side, when you take everything into consider and not just batting. And even if you were to argue against the aforementioned conclusion, you must be smooth brained to even compare the AUS peak to the current IND team, the former with absolute beasts like Mcgrath and Warne, also possessing what can be considered as the most consistent batting line-up of all time. Ricky had far, far more leverage than most other batsmen at the time. And this is a fact.
Lara was one the best in the world on par with sachin tendulkar! Only thing against mcgrath Lara was bit defensive but on the other hand it was sachin who always came back strongly against McGrath & has smashed him at many occasions!
hahahahaaha i can jus hear mr jeff boycott commentating in his style n choice words yep " in comes GLENN Mc GRATH too BRIAN LARA ohhhh whatttt a GREAT BALL by glen mc grath & well DISPATCH by BRIAN LARA .......
Mcgrath dominated all the greats ..Lara, sachin, jaysurya never really able to get in his head and break his length ... they mostly either get out or make very few runs against him .
I remember this match. Target was around 330. Gayle and chanderpaul played 15 overs for 30odd runs in crucial match and got out latrr. Imagine Lara coming at 25/3 with no one supporting him. Still he did very well. He played with ease against tait who was considered as fastest and got out whrn requirrd was 150 odd of 15 overs and am sure if he staydd till the end he would have won as he was well settled but he got out LBW
2007 wc was the most uninteresting ICC tournament i hve seen not becoz India exited early but also the variety of sluggish pitches prepared by the carribean😔
This ws the last world cup of Lara, Ganguly, Gilchrist , Hayden , inzamam, Gibbs . Only Tendulkar lasted till 2011 world cup from these early 1990s group of players
Lara was really great bt it is funny to see that some people call Sachin boring. Think d amount of pressure Sachin dealt with in every match bt he still succeeded. Had Indian bowling been stronger Sachin could have won more matches. Sachin is d greatest after Bradman.
I really don't know why there's always comparison whenever Sachin or Brian plays. Both are legends in their own right. Both faced difficulties. Both had their own weaknesses as well. So where's the comparison? Just enjoy a Lara's delicate late cut or a Sachin's perfect straight drive, or for that matter, Mark Waugh's elegant wrist work. It's a delight to watch them, isn't it? Please don't bring negativity to the forum by unwise comparisons.
Now days there is no excitement in watching cricket bcoz bowlers r not of that calibre,we hardly see the competition between the batsman and the bowler.
In many matches Lara did not get good support from his partners (other end batsmen) further WI bowlers gave too many runs to opposition and set huge targets for team to win. Whereas, Ponting, Kallis, Sachin, Sangakkara, David, Hayden all got good partners. Even their teams had good bowlers. Without sufficient support he played and scored so many runs, that's why many feel he was greatest batsman of all time
Mansoor Khan India had one of the worst bowling attacks in 90 s to 2000 and of huge pressure of Indian public Sachin played flawlessly. Only after Ganguly and other he got support before them he was one man army. Lara had great batting style. But compare to greatness no doubt about sachin
juzer ghadiali. Wat more pressure than that of a legacy to uphold was the team B.C. Lara to try and live up to passed on by the greats! 12 different countries to lead. Making mammoth runs to save face.
What a joke Ambros, marshal,Walsh,Dillon is world best attack of westndies, sarvan, chandrapol, hooper,Richard,Adams big batsman Lara is not support that is joke
