I will be drawing the winner of the giveaway on January 1, 2022 so the last day to register to win will be Dec 31, 2021. If you guys want more of these types of giveaways let me know. Good luck! And happy holidays.
Enter - had to watch 2x's The shop made me tired today, or wait was it all the leftovers from gobble gobble day. When you love walnut , that's my pick! But they both look great.
Enter 😁 I've been working on a brick pattern cutting board and it isn't coming out well at all. It all comes down to me not cutting my pieces big enough to give it room for all the planing. Yours looks amazing
Thanks for the kind words. You know, I really wish I had a drum sander because that would be a great tool for this project. I have registered you in the giveaway :)
@@EigenDesigns I wish I could afford one. I'm working with an old craftsman benchtop table saw and a ridgid 13 inch planer and a Dewalt random orbit sander for this one. Thank you for registering me
Enter! Awesome video Mark. These two wood species work very well together to make the brick pattern. I hope I can have an operation like you in the future and be able to produce quality products like this. 👊
I appreciate you saying that Bryan. A year ago my garage was a mess and I wanted to do something productive with the space. Fast forward 12 months later and I have an amazing shop and I get to make fun content. I have no complaints :) I have entered you into the giveaway :)
Enter! Phenomenal build Mark like usual!! Love how you went in depth with the whole build process! Also, thank you so much for the kind words Mark! You have no idea how that just made my day!
Enter. Love these boards, padauk is so pretty to work with just stains everything! I’ve made a few American flag cutting boards with the wood… side note, did you have any issues with the padauk staining the maple and how did you combat it?
Enter. That looks awesome. I have been thinking about trying to make a cutting board but a little nervous about it. Thank you for showing me how you do this one.
Hey Josh, I am glad you found this video helpful. My best advice to you is to just jump into it and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Learning from mistakes is a key part of woodworking. If you're concerned about it being a complete disaster, just use some cheap wood. I have enrolled you in the giveaway :)
I learned a lot in this video! Great job. I love the cutting board but won’t be entering. It probably won’t look good picking another RU-vidr to give this fine piece to. But blessed is he who wins it. Excellent idea doing a giveaway. 👍👍 happy thanksgiving my friend!
Enter! Those boards look absolutely incredible! Did you try using any type of grain filler with either board? I've used some padouk in a few projects but always been worried about the open grain of it.
Hey Derek. I did not use any grain filler for this board. I just made a number of trips to the jointer and planer throughout the build. I have registered you in the giveaway :)
Hey Tommie, I actually use these cheap foam applicator pads from the automotive industry. They come in large blocks that I cut down into smaller pieces. I have found them to be a cost effective way to apply finish to wood working projects. Link to applicator pads: amzn.to/3mLfoRO
@@jacklucernoni1565 I was fortunate not to have any staining or bleeding from the padauk. A few people asked about that issue so perhaps I just got lucky.
For the life of me i cant figure out how your tape measure gives you 19” across 5 boards at 1 1/2, 1 board at 1/34, and 5 1/4” boards. Please tell me that measurement was AFTER planing and dimensioning the individual strips? About 2 1/4” lost? Great board.
The wenge grain pattern is quite unique. The grain almost comes through as white lines on the board. Very interesting indeed! I have registered you in the giveaway :)
