Bro is wholesome. Reminds me of me and my homeschool church friends feeling over exp-force. I feel seen and represented, and therefore feel a kinship with this channel
The technic pin is really unusual: Released in 1997 is already had every common color (except for any brown shades) by 2004, 13 overall. And in 2020 it got three more: lime, gold and silver.
The motorized Hogwarts Express is a highlight among an entire wave of great Lego sets in general. I’ve always loved the design of Hogsmeade station in that set.
As much as I've been inspired by your currently ongoing build series (especially the minecraft one), ordering parts always seemed like a chore that wasn't worth going out of my way to accomplish, but watching these unboxings has really inspired me to take those first steps! Wish more youtubers delved into the behind-the-scenes in such a digestible and entertaining manner, thank you cheesey for the consistently fantastic content 🙏🙏
The first person I encountered resealing cellophane baggies from parting out sets was Axaday around 2017. They have also been prolific in uploading the default photos of real items, it is so nice to see a well taken picture of the actual item rather than staring at a render. Just had to give them a shoutout, definitely seems like a thankless endeavor!
"There are more lego blues than anything else, currently." can confirm. I started a project of collecting one piece of every color Lego ever produced, and... yea, its a LOT of blue. Green has the second most, oddly. Though there are a few "pieces" that were apparently only made for "clikits". weird stuff lol.
Great funny haul video If I could afford it I would buy a lot of stuff on bricklink all the time I fail to recall a set that had a sand purple pieces etc...😅 That wierd green piece could work as a mohawk for an action figure Have yourself a great life is a great quote
Respectable choice, not getting TikTok. I don’t know why but these Bricklink order videos are very enjoyable. Keep up the good work and have yourself a fantastic life.
Very random idea for those sand purple pieces: They would be perfect for a life-sizes skeleton spine (if you, for whatever reason, would want to build that).
Dark brown for the nether fortress? I don't know if that's a good idea, honestly, it might look... special, to say the least... But you never disappoint, so I'm excited to see that!
I actually really like in depth bricklink opening vids, it's fun to see what kinds of fun parts others get and talking about why the part caught their eye. Also it gives me ideas for parts to get for my own building, it's just fun all around.
It's also really funny to see system builders talking about bionicle and technic pieces, that's my field and it's always funny to have them being referred to as "obscure" or "rare" when we see them as quite common actually. Cultural differences I presume, would be fun to see you maybe giving an entire bionicle set a shot eventually.
Candy! The only time I've received a special goody I never ordered were 4 old flower stems with the old flower petals in dark pink. Was a nice little surprise, and maybe it's even better than candy because I can get more use out of them than the single use candy, but candy's pretty rad.
Lol, saw the video title and was like "yeah, this was me 4 years ago" 😅 blue-violet is another beautiful retired color. We really need those blue-to-purple-to-red spectrum of colors back. Dark purple and lavender are not enough!
I'm excited for the Crimson Forest build! This makes me nostalgic for when I used to buy Bricklink and Lego orders... those were the days. Nevertheless, this looks like an awesome haul
Cheese man, I was looking at the views of this video, it went from 685 to 691. I have never seen that before. You are the reason I know that’s a thing😊
The pearl sand blue super battle droid only came in the og Republic Gunship from 2002 and go for $65-70 in good used condition on BL. Its joints are also prone to cracking which makes it hard to find in good condition
Oh man, sand red. I got a seven 1x2 bricks in that colour this week, which were like €1,50 a piece. I have to get a couple of 1x2 plates in the same colour, which are just ridiculously expensive. I'm swapping a few out for the 1x2 plates with side bar and grille plates and hope it works. The pain of discontinued colours 😭😭 There's a place where I get telescope gear from, that _always_ sends a bag of gummy bears with their orders. I find it so amusing when sellers do that. 13:44 That trans-green colour is actually exclusive to a Bionicle Barraki set, #8920. It also showed up in a Space Police III set, next to the fantasy-era castle you're familiar with. 15:12 BL doesn't have an entry for glittered black, but that honestly looks really cool!
On the topic of polybags that are interesting, i have a sealed mcdonald happy meal polybag set from the 80s. Ive had it sitting around for quite a while.
A little idea I had for the Orc mini figure: Another lego builder I'm subscribed to, Hachiroku24, does some awesome lego builds, and a little while ago he made an orc camp. He used the new orc figure, mixed with a bunch of different weapons, bodies, and hair pieces to make a really interesting variety of orcs. You should check out that one. And with the orc (if you're not already planning something for it) make something similar. Maybe an orc mountain fortress? That could be cool!
17:04 If you ever wind up doing a "weird polybag" video, I gotta recommend set 6934 "Good Guy" from Bionicle. Perfectly weird and weirdly adorable. (Plus it only ever came as a pack-in toy with a European Donald Duck magazine of all things, so there's a story there too!)
Those metallic sand blue technic peices I actually got part of a bionicle garage sale box for just $20! I still haven't checked to see if I have all the parts but I definitely have almost all of them.
Its built in a mixture of grey tones to show weathering and age, I really wanted to use more cdg but it can be difficult to source large quantities. I find using a few key odd pieces can really bring a model to life though! @@CheeseyStudios
Aero-tube Hangar is perhaps the best bang-for-your-buck (that phrase feels dirty when actually typed out) big set from over 20 years ago, Cheesey means to end that by amassing all the world’s sand purple to build a colossus made of gates and wedges and odd windshields and discs.
When you think about it, these videos are a neat sorta way to archive Bricklink lots one would get, cause Bricklink eventually deletes older lot summaries from your history, and the pdf of those summaries are not as exciting as presentable videos.
i remember buying from german brick link sellers and they would always send me sweets and i never ate them bc i like the german special packaging so they are my lil brick link keep sakes :3
My #1 minifigure has to be mr yellow skin generic smiling face with red shirt and blue pants but I've seen the lists of many people and they're always quite the collection, how one limits themselves to only 10 is beyond me however!
Bob from LEGO Universe! Gotta love a classic. Compiling a top 10 list each year is tough, but I love going through the minifigures catalogue and seeing every figure in detail.
Whats next pearl sand purple? Really great video, love seeing these at Cheesey studios favourite series on RU-vid can’t wait for the next Instalment. Also I’ve done the same thing, last year i was parting out some Power miners sets and accidentally bought 30 Dark gray 3L pins… Anyway great vid as Always Caleb❤❤
@@CheeseyStudios the bridge walker is quite more common. At least on the European mainland as the crawler was a UK/US exclusive. But it was sold like half a year longer in the UK than the US so they have quite a few of them
Does your wife have a channel? I’d love to see her projects too. I think I remember you saying she was making a lego dress before and I feel like that’s the kind of crazy lego project that would be perfect for RU-vid.
I definitely need to do that at some point. LEGO's Pick-a-Brick service is awesome for a great many things! I've done a few videos on it where I explain what I look for there in particular. In some cases, it can be cheaper than Bricklink.
@@CheeseyStudios Yeah, then there’s a Jango Fett in that same line with lots of violet technic pieces that also is a surprisingly low cost. Good thing too cause I’ve got a -bad- habit of adding weird colored technic pieces to my orders, and that can get expensive real fast if I’m not looking lol.
a little off video topic but do you have any recommendation for around 30cm or more in height lego set preferably tree like the idea tree house or city market theme like the ninjago one i really like your reviews vids and think greatly of your experty and opinion in lego. PS: i bought my first lego set it looks really nice in my room then i went online and impulsively bought 3 minifigure of 2 emmet and 1 santa claus (FOMO LOL mostly because my favorite things are minecraft lego movie christmas and trees oh and scooby doo) but honestly its so expensive T__T im thinking of only buying 2-3 more set and stopping so wanted to make it count.
If you want a tall build, the Ninjago City Gardens is an amazing set. Couldn't recommend that one enough if you're a Ninjago fan! I'm not even a Ninjago fan and I adored that set.
@@CheeseyStudios omg the build is so cool especially when joined with the other set as a standalone its also great but man it cost as much as my rent combined with my electric bills why those lego have to be so expensive ; w ; i might have to pass on that my budget is only like 130 usd or maybe i might save up for a year
ok so seemingly i have become so obsessed with lego that i cant stop thinking about it all day i ended up just buying the a frame cabin on impulse for 140 dollar which i think isnt a bad deal but i would have to survive on 2 dollar a day for a month. I just cant help but want to create a reimagination of my favorite characters in different environment man T__T
I don't hate Nexo Knights by any means, but it doesn't interest me in the slightest either. It's just a bit too much in my opinion - especially the colors.
I actually made a mistake myself when getting a recent Bricklink order, I got the wrong helmet piece, the only difference on both is one has a little blue triangle and one doesn’t. So I couldn’t complete the Star Wars special forces trooper fig (I think that’s the name of the fig) 🤦🏻♂️
