I can see Sand Red making a comeback eventually, as it looks like weathered paint, rust and more. With Lego heading into scale model territory with their Creator cars, licensed sets and so on, it makes sense to have more colours to work with, not less. Sand Red can be a great colour for a brick wall and pairs well with tan and Sand Green for old houses. I actually think the thing which would bring Sand Red back is Star Wars - maybe even Episode 2 and 3 UCS sets like a Venator or AT-TE. I'm not much of a Star Wars guy but I feel like it's a perfect accent colour for prequel sets and original trilogy.
I do think it's quite a useful color too! At least two of the very few sets to include the color were indeed Star Wars set - the cantina and also a Geonosian starfighter which was really cool!
I do try my best! I love weird parts and colors and can't resist picking them up, even if I don't plan on using them. I'm equal parts collector and builder I suppose, ha! Glad you're learning a bit too
The sand colors in Lego I believe can be quite useful for mocs if there were more bricks made of them, as they can provide a muted version of a color which can blend in with predominantly grey builds, or builds with a more darker color pallet without looking too eye-catching. Also the Pillager outpost is looking great, cant wait for the full episode!
I'm so pumped too! I hope I have the time to pull it off at the scale I want. I'm trying to get ahead on video uploads so I can take some time to just start building it.
Ahh, another "Minecraft Expansion and Rare Colors" video! I jest, these are fun. For Earth Orange in Minecraft, my first thought was red sand, but you've already used Dark Orange for that.
I usually go to Bricklink for parts and I’ve realized I’ve been doing it all wrong. I should have been trying to buy from one or two stores instead of buying from multiple, buying from multiple drives up the total price, tax, and shipping. Love the video and I hope you have a good day :)
So glad to see you dropped another one of these. There's something so relaxing about your bricklink haul videos. I love the background music and softness of it all, and you do great on the lighting and talking about it. Appreciate the content!
@@CheeseyStudios could you make a playlist for all of your lego minecraft videos? (in order I guess but it might be hard to keep it in order if you're still making them)
Cheesey be like: Gotta love some SAND RED! Also man you're like one of the few youtubers where i watch all of your videos. Not only like specific topic but your content is so interesting that you cen make even an unboxing which i dont normally find entertaining and still i will watch it. Thanks for your hard work.
It's curious that sand red died so soon; it's the PERFECT color to represent bricks! 98283 (Brick, Modified 1 x 2 with Masonry Profile) would've looked fantastic with it! It's a shame it died before it could escape the sci fi themes it wound up in. Though I do love my sci fi, (love making mechs in wacky colors, just designed a sand purple one with a sand red ship that could dock to it in studio) so I can't exactly complain too much about that X3
I obviously really hope it does, and I don't think it's impossible, even if unlikely. I think it's a good candidate because there aren't any other colors like it and I can see it fulfilling a variety of uses, especially as LEGO focuses more on licensed more 'realistic' sets.
@@CheeseyStudios if LEGO ever did some sort of fan vote for an old color to come back I think sand red would be a strong contender. However I find that level of community input being allowed over something only AFOLs remember to be highly unlikely.
Hey! That's my store. Your video came up randomly in my stream. When the first part of the order came I out I thought, "those look familiar". Thanks so much for giving Wild Bricks GA a shout out. We love happy buyers.
How about you build a NPU Moc with those snakes? 😆 just kidding. Your build was so awesome and building a functional chairlift was a large undertaking in retrospect.
There's a life-sized Nativity lego display at "our lady of the snows" shrine in Belleville, IL that uses THOUSANDS of sand red bricks, but they're all GLUED !!!
I dont care if u dont speak spanish but i wanna tell u in my language: USTED ES EL MEJOR, Ilumination, Audio, Video, Good creativity, Beautifull creations, Interesting content, And a lot of more.
Wow! The pillager outpost looks fantastic (although I did see it in the background of another video). Also the savanna would be the perfect biom for it!
Outpost has definitely been around for awhile at the point haha - it took a long time to get it put together as it's pretty big! I'm really happy with the savanna. It works out really well.
Even your parts hauls are enjoyable to watch since you briefly go through the pieces and the reason for getting them. If not too troublesome, I would appreciate it if you could list the prices of the pieces. I'm looking to build up a small parts collection but really unsure how to gauge the prices, everything seems pricey to me haha
I have tons of Lego. My father has told me forever to rebuild and sell them. That is a bit too much for me, but considering the robustness of brick ordering, I may be able to patch some of my favourite sets back together to keep and then sort and get rid of the bricks somewhere they’ll be available for people to get, instead of being in a box in my closet. I don’t have many rare ones, but hopefully I’ll be able to contribute as much value to the ecosystem as I take out.
I've been rebuilding a lot of old sets, and I can promise it's definitely worth it. I lost, traded, or gave away my fair share of parts, but most of them are pretty easy and affordable to find again through Bricklink. Of course no one seller will have them all, but I've usually always found one that gets pretty close.
2:05 I had no idea it was a rare color for it either, had gotten them in the Toy Story army men set when that released, interesting that it was the last time it's been released in that color as well Wish I still had the pieces to that set too 😔
@@CheeseyStudios I think I got it from like a garage sale I’d say… 3 - 5 years ago? At the time I shrugged it off and thought it was just a piece, but now realizing, it’s a rare piece!
So I usually shop based on parts I need, such as in the case of that first order, for those green grille tiles. I found a store that had them at a price and quantity I wanted, then in order to justify the shipping cost, I usually see what else the store has for sale that could be useful to me! There might be other items on my wanted lists, and I usually just run a quick search for "Minecraft" on the store to pick up any Minecraft things I might need. I always look through the rare color tabs to see if there's any fun things to pick up there. At the end of the day, it just comes down to the fact that I enjoy browsing individual stores and seeing what they have for sale!
Great video! In your Minecraft village moc I noticed a custom Iron Golem you have made. Do you think you could make a video about how to make it? It looks much better than all the versions made by LEGO.
Definitely! The Warden tutorial went over pretty well so I want to do more things like it. I'll try to even get the golem video out in the next two weeks!
@@CheeseyStudios ohh true didn't think of that. Also is there any chance we could get parts lists for the dioramas? I know it's a little extra work on your end
Basically I went to this page here www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3069b&name=Tile%201%20x%202%20with%20Groove&category=%5BTile%5D#T=S&C=14&O={%22color%22:%2214%22,%22iconly%22:0} and set a few search parameters: I knew I would need at least 1000, so I set Min Qty to that, I knew I didn't want to worry about international shipping, so I set the seller location to USA, and then I sorted by price so I could get the best deal!
It's 2:59 am in Philippines rn......*yawns, depression can really change things in life.... So if you got a close friend who's always alone most of his/her time, message him/her.... Cus idk what either I'm doing rn this late night.... But looking almost 3 years before this all happened.... Wish I could stayed the same..... I know this comment doesn't have any connection to this vid, just making myself useful rather than murmuring in my bed doing literally nothing but just make my lungs squish through the night.... Anywho not further or less, awesome vid (i don't want the comment to get any longer so noice vid byee)
That's awesome to hear! The best advice I can give you is to design your build in Minecraft first, where it's much easier to add/remove blocks. This will allow you to really come up with the perfect layout
Buying LEGO is so expensive especially with specific pieces that aren’t being sold anymore, LEGO needs to make rare pieces more available through the pick-a-brick options but still there going to be to expensive for me 😔
Favorite MOC that I've featured here? Hmm... Probably some of my Vignweek stuff, specially 'Overpass', which will always be one of my favorites I think. Also, I think the tree is easily one of the most complicated things I've ever built for the LEGO Minecraft series ha!
What if for the minecraft modules you used old gray ro make a visible difference between cobblestone and deepslate since it is closer to the game than black or gunmetal grey
I do wish there was a dark dark grey color - that would be perfect! Even if gunmetal grey had more parts available that would be better for a lot of things
i know a pretty great fit for eatrh orange but ist not the best but i tried! earth orang can be a close match to acacia wood! I didnt even know the colour earth orange
I want to build my own Minecraft moc similar to yours but I don’t wanna copy it do you have any suggestions? I’ve got a bunch of pieces I feel like I could possibly use in the car but I’m not sure. I also kind of want to make it a modded Minecraft moc
Best advice I can give is to design it in Minecraft first! It's so much easier to build and modify a build in Minecraft rather than LEGO, so that'll give you a chance to come up with the perfect layout, and plus, Minecraft then will basically server as your instructions!
Yeah, it's a real weird one. You can take a look here to see the incredibly odd 37 parts that were produced in the color: www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&colorPart=29
Yeah, the only "normal" parts are the one u got and a 2x2 plate, also had missed that the old Gungan Beast was earth orange, you learn something new everyday!
amazing haul! hope you are having a great day, i was wondering whats the schedule on the minecraft videos? when do non-members get to see the delayed builds/uploads? how much time passes from upload to non-member visualization permission?
I don't if you have put this on the build, but, put there's a block on the top of the Outpost, theres this corner that doesn't have 2 blocks on it unlike the rest, could you add it?
Someone else had mentioned that but I regret to inform you that I did not notice that this was a thing until it was too late xD The episode is already done rip
