These videos have a fair amount of speculation in them, but that fact is actually from the Pirates of Barracuda Bay instruction manual so it's 100% official. :D

Wow, an 8-part documentary series about Redbeard / the main characters of the LEGO Pirates theme? THAT sounds great, especially considering the quantity and quality of information you've already managed to fit in this 1st episode! Beware, small typo at 3:11: "Les pirates et la _mAlle_ au trésor" (6th line, meaning "The pirates and the treasure chest" in French, which is my first language). Nothing major, but your work is so perfectionist and polished that I know you'll be happy to spell it right if you need to quote this source again in the future. I have a theory. Tge red beard minifig from mid 2010s with Orange beard is one of the youngest versios of him. After the tales of him where he was named "red beard", he coloured his beard more redish with some plants and or berries, to have a stronger brand. And in mid to end 2000 where he had darker red beard, he was at that point he was still trying to find a good dye for his beard, and at that point he was using more darker dye. Also his name "brick beard" might be his fake name, when he was prosumed dead at that point.

Considering the inconsistent coloration of Redbeard's hair throughout the various sources, I think some artificial coloration was definitely going on here. Perhaps he thought, to paraphrase Gilbert and Sullivan, "Better far to live and dye/under the brave black flag I fly". ;)

I haven't met too many people from Germany who've listened to these, that's awesome! My notes show that this happened in #5 "Das Geheimnis von La Sceletta", and that Adventure on Shark Island was one of the Pirate storybooks. Is this correct, or is there a Shark Island audio drama out there?

@@loreescape47 no in German the Version is called „Das Geheimnis von La Skeletta“ But the Story line is Pretty Much the same. I listend to These Audio Dramas when i was ig 6 Years Old and still Love it. Also there is a Cool Mystery about The Governors Ship: In the Audio Dramas its Called „Cannonball“ and the Description of it Looks a Bit More like The Ship of the Line Victory like Ships But in the Comics the Ship is Called Ironram and has a Different Look. The Governors Ship from the Audio Dramas Were sadly Never Released Same as the Governors Palace or Figures of Prudince and Camilla.

Thank you so much! I don't want to give an exact ETA because I don't want to disappoint anyone if I can't make it happen. I can say that it is at least scripted and the narration is recorded. I have a large project for my next video that I'm still working on. (It was originally supposed to launch the channel before Redbeard distracted me, lol.) Episode 3 will be next up after that. I'll be trying to get things out faster after that; I'm a bit of a perfectionist but three videos in six months is obviously not sustainable. :)

Is there enough lore of the LEGO original pirate, Brickbeard? As in, the villain of the Legoland show "The Battle For Brickbeard's Bounty", and even lore on the setting of that show? That is, that could be enough for a video?

I think there certainly is--I love the Brickbeard lore from LEGOLAND Florida, and the original characters like Miranda Valentina and Calico Jade. Episode II does get into the origins of Brickbeard a bit, using the live show as a reference. But he's noted as an influential pirate leader in the Barracuda Bay instruction manual and his campaigns in LEGO Battles are gonna be an important part of the historical narrative, so rest assured that we'll come back to him. As for having his own video...well, whatever Redbeard has, Brickbeard wants too... ;)

I have the late 80s comic about him which lego made. How did he get his hand and hook on the Skull's Eye Schooner?
