People who have been through so much usually do have beautiful attitudes towards life…after somewhat having met their mortality it’s kinda like there’s nowhere to go but up. Not wasting time on sweating the small stuff…. Like many do who haven’t been tested.

Why so much hate for trashing the dress? It’s her dress! It’s really not an outlandishly priced dress compared to most. I’d say that’s prob pretty close to average in the us these days. After all she’s been through she’s earned the right to spend what she wants and do whatever she wants! Getting in the water in it will be a fun experience she’ll remember forever. Also she can prob get it cleaned up to look like new if she wants!

This episode is from 2013. Jennifer chose a beautiful dress and she is beautiful inside and out. And for the negative comments, no she didn’t trash this beautiful dress. She bought an inexpensive back up dress.

While she chose a gorgeous dress that she looks great in, I have to question wearing a strapless dress to jump in the ocean. I would think that, once that much fabric gets waterlogged, the sheer weight of it is going to drag it clean off of her! I think straps would be an excellent idea for a dress that's going to get drowned. 😉

Why would you spend that much money on a dress only to trash it? Why not choose a less expensive dress to trash? It would still be just as fun.

I do find it hard to believe that someone would want to immediately trash a beautiful $3000 dress. For any reason. But i guess to each his own.

She is a beautiful young woman that has conquered the most difficult thing that one could only imagine. IMO since she’s going to trash the dress and doesn’t know what she’ll wear after, they could have suggested spending $2,000 on gown and $1000 on reception dress.

If she can make memories and build a bond with her Husband in her dress isn't that better than being frantic about staining a dress you will never wear again? Most brides don't do a single thing with their dress and people are so superstitious that they don't even believe in donating them. Unless you are going to use your gown to make outfits for yourself, or your children or are considering donating your dress to the many people who make angel baby gowns then you should get over it and enjoy your day. (And no, chances are your kid doesn't want your dress. Unless you wore your parents don't expect them to wear yours.)

This is weird. Why would you spend $3,000 on a dress to trash it? Why not buy a really lovely white dress? Or any other colour dress? Or buy 2nd hand, or have 2nd hand dress remodelled by a cheap seamstress? Sounds like the reception will be just another pretty dress... I will never understand that way of thinking. It's her life, but it doesn't make sense. I am sure, even with insurances, those ops have cost big money. Plus ongoing meds. So she gets a flattering dress, that makes her look really good. A dress she could have dyed and wore for most functions, for years, with a little trim off the back, and she plans to trash it. The one dress she says makes her feel pretty... Not just waste $3,000? But trash the one dress she claims makes her feel beautiful... Beyond me.
