I feel like she really needed that second appointment. She needed time to rest and reset after how emotional that first appointment was for her and I’m so happy she got her perfect dress!

I wish she'd been able to go to the Curvy Brides boutique in the UK - she would have had a much better experience.

Going in with high expectations, and NO wriggle room, is a dangerous thing.

Randy is a saint . Such patience, such tact.

She needed to let go and let the professionals do their job. She had an image of a dress in mind that wasn't necessarily the right silhouette for her and refused to try on other styles. I am glad she came back refreshed and open to the consultant's recommendations.

I think that she was so stuck on her vision of a 'bohemian Grecian inspired' dress that she had tunnel vision during the first appointment. That style wouldn't flatter her figure. I am glad that she came back for the second appointment and opted for a more fitted dress that flattered her figure more.

Gok would not allow her try that 1st dress. He would just bring dresses that actually flatter bride’s body.

So glad that bridal wear has changed with the times! This is from season 1 which was 2007, and as a plus size woman I used to be so disappointed watching the experience plus size brides had at Kleinfeld's. Kleinfeld now carries sample sizes 8, 10, 12, 18, 20 and 22 in most dresses, and most dresses can be ordered in size 2 to 32.

the one she ended up picking, is a great dress and will look great on her. I still think that the 1st dress she really wanted to buy, the 1st one she chose, would have looked fantastic on her if it was her actual size. It looked nice on her, even on the wrong size.

I love Randy . He reminds me of Princess Diana who always connected to people. He has such a heart for kindness.

With this clip from the archives, I’m glad nowadays plus-size wedding dresses are available off the rack.

She needs to go to a place with plus size dresses. If you’re plus size, sample sizes will look horrible on you and magnify your plusness. Even if the sample dress would look great if it was your size, it’s impossible to see it when it’s several sizes too small. As a plus size myself, I can also tell you: go in wearing a girdle or corset that you will wear on your wedding day. I haven’t worn a corset since I was 14, but I have worn a girdle in the last couple years, and they make a huge difference. With a girdle, I discovered a new workout that combines aerobics, strength training, and Pilates: getting the thing off and back on when you need to pee.

I've seen the dress she chose in the back ground of other shows. I loved that dress! So glad someone finally picked it. She needs a great head piece with it, I think instead of a veil to show off the dress. She looked beautiful in the dress!

It turned out she needed a dress with a lot of structure, which a flowy goddess bohemian dress doesn't have. Don't come in with one fixed idea in your head, let the experts guide you. Whenever someone comes in with a photo of the dress they want, it never looks like the photo on them and they're always disappointed.

The new dress is really pretty. It looks really good on her. Much better than the first one.

So many of us have done the same thing it is called buyers remorse. How wonderful that she, the next day, found a dress that made her feel beautiful! CONGRATULATIONS

To her credit, at least she knows exactly what she wants and is very clear in communicating it. Much better than the brides the come in clueless and waste everyone’s time.

I love the second dress so much more on her than the first one. I feel that the first on looked like she picked it because it fits, whereas the other one actually flatters the curves in all the right places

As big as kleinfelds is they should have a room full of plus size dresses. It's a shame.

I think the first dress still would have been beautiful and perfect for her beach wedding. Obviously you have to use your imagination when the sample size is not your size, but her actual dress would have been perfectly tailored to fit her.

Like so many American companies they do not serve their plus size patrons well. The two ladies from the Uk who specialize in plus size always hit it out of the park.

I’m sad whenever a woman says “I’m too big” instead of “it’s too small.”

I don't understand why the bride needs every relative to provide advice when she knows she's not going to listen to their opinions. She made the decision on her own anyway.

Prospective brides should NEVER try on dresses that are in sizes too small. It always leaves you feeling that you're too big rather than the dress is too small.

If Kleinfeld really wants to convey sensitivity to large brides, they should carry a much bigger selection of dresses which fit them. Lose the preconceptions about brides’ emotional fragility and give them the same service you give to other customers. How is a bride supposed to feel comfortable if she has to squeeze herself into dresses which cannot show her how a properly sized version would look? If they cannot find the size a bride on tv needs, imagine what an anonymous customer faces. The dresses exist; they don’t want to stock them, which means they don’t value the brides who need those dresses.

Part of being a plus sized bride is being realistic about the fact that many stores do not cater to plus sized brides. Go to a plus sized boutique. Even if you don't end up picking anything there (or don't think you will pick anything there) try on dresses there to figure out what silhouettes look good on you. Then, if you don't find the dress and really want to go to a store like Kleinfeld, you can at least say, "I know this silhouette looks good on me when it fits properly, so even though this exact dress doesn't look right, it will when it's my size."

I feel for her. I had the opposite happen to me when I went to Kleinfeld’s. They only had the plus sized sample and I couldn’t see passed all of the extra material to figure out what it would look like on me. It was the only dress I had my heart set on and it was a long time before I found something else.

OK, so I am wondering….when the Curvy Brides gals do some appts, they have brought in special dresses for someone specifically for the appt. Based in NY, I would think that Kleinfeldt could do that as well….if an appt is made ahead of time and it is a plus sized bride, then you arrange to have a few more plus size sample dresses available….what am I missing?

When she said $5G her planner nearly fainted. I definitely think they decided on a lower budget but once she saw the cameras jacked it up.

The tears in the first appointment was definitely tears of frustration. It was a red flag and she should go home & take a rest. Happy that she find the dress at the end.

As someone who has struggled with my weight and has difficulty finding things that fit properly, it’s a little annoying that they’re framing her as picky. When nothing fits you, of course you’re going to be specific, because you have to be painfully hyperaware of what actually does fit. If all you’re pulling is stuff that’s 4 sizes too small, take a different approach. The consultant needs to be able to steer her into that mindset. I’d be livid if this was my experience as a bride. You can tell she settled, because she just wanted the torture to end. Nobody should feel like that looking for a dress.

Arent there boutiques who cater specially to curvy brides ?

Many of us have been there - you have one body type and style that doesn't match, or you daydream about dresses you see in the magazines on people who have entirely opposite body type only to be disappointed once you try it on your body, just like this bride. Very few people have realistic perception regarding their own body and even fewer knows what really suits them. This bride needs support - she is not big girl, she is petite she just have body type that doesn't suit column style - it's for tall, very lean body type. Support means structure that will give you bust lift and control, tummy control and some waist definition (not emphasize - definition). Once shape wear and structured construction of the item gives you shape and control over that shape with good support of your curves, you can play with overlay in dainty lace i.e. or chiffon in order to create the boho effect that you desire.

Such a gorgeous bride, I love her hair. It was sad to see her disappointed the first time.

To me, the bodice of the first dress (cover her wide shoulder) plus the structured skirt of the last dress (give her waist) suit her body the best.

The last 2 dresses both looked really good. It can just be hard for a bride to imagine when the sample is not in their size. Time for bigger samples. Most woman are not a size 6.

FIRST and FOREMOST - if there are no plus size bridal shops in your area, then when calling around for bridal shops, ask them what sizes do they have on the floor and do they have any of YOUR size to try on as well as how many gowns to choose from in your size that you can try on that day. Don’t fall for them telling you that the dress can be altered by their seamstress to your size and to come on in anyway. Once you find a shop that has plenty of dresses for you to try on in your size, then you AVOID experiencing a day of sadness and disappointment. You also avoid settling for the only dress that you were able to fit into! ❤

There's no way to know what something looks like on (no matter if you're sz 2 or 22), until its on your body. I disagree with needing to be "sample size" as some of the most memorable SYTTD Brides were curvy & looked stunning in their selected gowns!

Wow! She is crazy! She says a dress is "too bridal", then finally decides on a dress that "makes her feel like a bride". She wants a bohemian dress, then buys a dress with rhinestones.

She really needs to go to a plus size boutique. Not only will the dresses fit they will be more flattering shapes and the assistants will be experienced with plus size body types.

That is a beautiful dress. All she needs is one that fits her.

Luna had a vision of a style that didn't suit her physique. She was trying to use yards of fabric to disguise her shape but it only made her look bulky.. The last dress, which was fitted was completely the opposite and revealed her beautiful curves!

Some of you need to remember this is a super old episode, back when bigger sizes weren’t thought of. Not only did stores not have bigger sizes but designers didn’t even make big sizes, limiting which dresses these brides can order. Lori went over this in some episode. Luckily now, designers are considering bigger sizes and expanded their inventory so now stores can offer bigger sizes compared to early 2000s

It is not easy to go dress shopping if you’re plus sized because the samples are all so small. Good for her for sticking to her guns and finding something she loved.

Luna was not in love with that dress, she was just relieved to find a dress that fit her.

One thing that always irks me is when people say "flattering", "slimming", or in this case "slenderizing" (what the heck is that last one? haha). It is always a subtle reminder that in the eyes of most people, slimness=beauty and fatness=ugly. All sizes are beautiful, and I'm tired of people using "wow, that's slimming" as a compliment or "that makes you look bigger" as a critique.
