Mysicjc, the RU-vid algorithm asked me to rate your comment. Strange. I don't understand your comment but at least now it feels less surprising that there are some comments with 10000 likes.
i wish i could take the top from the second dress and put it on the skirt from the third dress. i really liked the flowy "woodland princess" feel of #3's skirt but was not digging the open applique "sleeves."
I just "snipped" and pasted all 3 side by side and the first one absolutely looks the best on her BY FAR - however, it is more about how the bride feels in the dress than anything.
Lancashire location is a first class boutique and I'm not talking about money. The way auntie Gok and his staff do their job is amazing, professional and emphatic, they make every bride happy and special, respecting everyone and the budget with emphasis; also the dresses selections are impressive most of the times. In this case, the bride received a golden experience from Gok and the disagreement was managed with class and keeping calm but also giving her an option for her dress. I just loved everything here.
He is the absolute best, isn't he?? I would honestly fly in from the U.S. (if I were getting remarried) to get my dress from them, just because of the respect with which they treat everyone, and the incredible designing skills of Gok. He is a Master in the art of ^Class^.
From my understanding Gok doesn’t actually work at the boutique, he is only there for the show. Even without him the boutique looks lovely and the staff seem nice so I would like to visit when I’m getting married.
That’s how all bridal shops should create the experience! I work in a shop like this and the number of brides who come in and say, “now THIS is what I wanted it to be like!” makes me so sad!!
When the bride says “I don’t care” when you ask if the entourage will like the gown as well, that’s the gown. At the end of the day, it is what the bride is wearing the dress. It is about what makes them feel like the best version of themselves.
That's why I don't understand why brides bring anyone with them. I feel like she loved that second dress more then the one she picked, given she cried and felt like she needed something different because of their opinions. If you love a dress and you think it's perfect, it doesn't matter what the others say. It's your dress, they shouldn't have a say. If you do bring someone, their opinion shouldn't matter. I've seen so many brides now pick something else because of what others say and it's just sad.
I love how Gok asked her if she thought it will be enough for the mom and friends with the 3rd dress and she just said "i don't care" because she loved it so much. You knew that was it.
What a shame that she didn't go back and try on first dress again after seeing herself in the other two (without a doubt, the first one that made her look the best in every respect, IMHO). She was STUNNING in the first dress.
Gok is just so amazing. Not only does he help these brides to find the perfect wedding dress sometimes he helps them to find their self confidence, their beauty and I love it. More Gok please!
She actually, in my opinion, looked best in the second dress. I didn’t think it was too plain at all. I am blown away by the dresses in this particular place of all the bridal places I’ve ever seen this place has the most stunning gowns and the people that work there are absolutely brilliant!
When I was at my friends bridal appointment I didn’t critique the dresses like this. The only question I asked the bride was “can you drop it low and dance all night in it?” 🤣 it’s all about how she feels my personal style and taste has nothing to do with it.
I love that he asks what the bride's think about the dress, but almost always follows it up by asking how they feel about their bodies, because he knows that if they don't love themselves in it they won't truly love it
0:42 -- The intro set up an extremely tense situation, and then... Gok Wan arrives. I'm 99% sure this one is going to have a happy ending. Gok is a designer, therapist, and diplomat all rolled into one fabulously unique life form.
Goc was born for this job...he is blessed with the compassion of making EVERY bride feel absolutely beautiful. He instinctively knows what every bride needs to hear. I'd bet he's a loving, loyal friend.
I'm already married but I'd have a second wedding just to wear one of the dresses from this boutique! How can every dress be so lovely? And Gok, with all the customisation to make sure every bride gets their dream dress. 💗
Essence of Australia has the best n affordable dresses .. 2000£ isn't cheap either , but u get my point..some of these dress would way more expensive elsewhere.
I love Gok doing so much work with the pins. The dresses then fit so well even though they are not the right size. So much more effort than other SYTTD editions.
And to many mothers refuse to accept their daughters. They expect them to be a doll they can dress up as they want and the doll bot allowed to feel anything
If the bride asks people to come dress shopping with her, she should expect to hear their opinions. If I was told to come but keep quiet, I'd tell the bride that she really doesn't need me there.
I love that when she said ''I don't care'' to Gok asking if the others would find it princess-y enough, the other stylish suddenly had a major smile on her face! So fun!
From the title and the build up I was expecting a venomous monster mother, but I think she wasn't that bad, no one liked the dress, not just her, but she wasn't viscous like so many other mothers on SYTTD
Real shame. Bless her. They were trying to kindly give her honest opinions but she seemed to really take it personally. She looked lovely in all three.
i don't understand why friends and family think their opinions on a dress are anywhere near as important as the bride's opinion and how she feels?? it's so weird how entitled family and friends get when it comes to weddings and dress shopping.
I think the issue is they come from 2 different perspectives. They want her to look her best. And she wants to feel her best. I agree that dress #1 flattered her more than second one. But from the comments she made towards the end about last dress I gather the bottom of the first dress felt heavy and restrictive.
@@AFAskygoddess there's a difference between giving an opinion, and expecting that your opinion be the main influence on the decision of whether or not to buy the dress even though it's not your wedding.
They were ok and just voice their opinions. And they were very careful to be considerate and honest without hurting her feelings. She needs to grow up.
Out of all the episodes I've watched, this was the only one that gave me goosebumps over just how beautiful she looks in those dresses. Absolutely stunning!
All three dresses were so beautiful and feminine, but the third dress was the most unique. I Love how the bride's face lit up as she wore it. Much Love to her and her groom and family.
The bride looked stunning in all 3 dresses. I hope she chose the 2nd dress. That's the 1 she really loved, and didn't settle on the 3rd dress. What ever her decision she will look beautiful on the day.
Most of Gok's beautiful dress is from Essence of Australia. And they are stunning! Funny that in other SYTTD, sometimes (rarely) they have Essence of Australia too in some episodes, but we always see neverending dresses from Dando London, Hailey Paige, and Pnina Tornai
@@judithryle2113 true.. they hardly ever look bridal... No whimsical , magical any of that beauty to those dresses. Very rarely i hv liked any of her dresses.
I love the way Goks treating every customer with so much love. And all the dresses they've got are so gorgeous. I wish to get my wedding dress from them one day. But I'm so far from their country 😭😞 But i enjoy every brides experience with them every day 😍😘
She's a very beautiful young lady and looked absolutely stunning in all three of the beautiful dresses. I love how loving and kind the host was with her.
One thing that can make me sad on behalf of the bride is that she should always take care of what others think. The day is about the bride and not family and friends. The phrase I hear in all episodes from the bride is "Now I found something we ALL liked" like bruh! 😒
She isn't forced to bring people with her. Plus she chooses those herself. She brings them to help her. They did a fine job. The first dress was a dream come true. The second not. They were telling her kindly. Her tears had nothing to do with that. Just some build-up anxiety coming out. The third dress was okay. Didn't like the weird sleeves though.
I am lost for words. She is so stunning in all these wedding dresses 👗. What a beautiful bride 👰♂ she is gorgeous. The best on your wedding day and future.
I just don't understand why the ppl who come with the bride think it's about them in ANY WAY. "What we wanted"?! It's not ABOUT YOU. and it certainly isn't about what YOU want. ffs. i love these videos. especially Auntie Gok. But i get tired of seeing family and friends being selfish and frankly very hurtful. At least that one girl recognized it. and I hope they apologized.
When I eventually get married, I am not going for anything traditional. I wanna go for something Roman inspired given my Italian ancestry. I'd honestly probably go shopping alone because I don't care what my friends/family think. If they don't like it, too bad. They won't see it till my wedding and by then it would be too late.
I love that when he asked if she thought they’d like it, she said “I don’t care”. It makes me so sad that the people closest to you sometimes tear you down the most. I think the 3rd dress was a perfect combination of the first two dresses, but that brings said I think only her opinion should matter. It was never 4 against 1 unless you let them have that power.
Uhm, beg to differ. They didn't tear her down at all! You were just led on by the wrong title. They only gave their honest opinion. They kept saying she was stunning, just that they liked that dress less than the first one. She really did look a lot better in the first dress. Scroll through the comment section. Most agree here.
💗 The first dress was absolutely stunning on her. I didn't like the second look. Ultimately the bride should go with what she loves, no matter when anyone else thinks or says
She looked stunning in all 3 dresses! I like the 3rd the best because as she pointed out, the fabric is light and comfortable to wear but the dress still has beautiful shape and details.
