Uncle Steve needs to get his own dress.

The uncle and the bride’s mother did not even consider what the bride wanted. It was all about them and their wants. How selfish can they be?

That is not a good way to find a compromise. Both dresses were awful on her.

The mom and uncle were obviously terrible, but I can't believe the consultant just went along with it too. I can understand putting her in one ball gown just to show them and make sure that she doesn't in fact like it (sometimes the brides end up pleasantly surprised after all), but what happened to putting the bride first? She obviously did not like the ball gown and wanted to keep looking. But of course the consultant took advantage of the family's manipulations to just sell a second dress instead of just putting her in some beautiful fit and flairs to change their minds. The entire thing was a trainwreck.

I hope this girl has a happy marriage where her opinion counts too.

That first dress did not flatter her at all!! And the fact that her mother and uncle didn't see how unhappy she was in that dress is upsetting.

This was awful to watch. The way they bullied her into getting a dress she didn't want was bad enough without the consultant helping them do it! Her mum's horrible begrudging "well alright" would have shattered me. I hope the bride felt beautiful, special, and valued on her wedding day, because she didn't get that for a second in this appointment.

Neither dress is flattering. She should have tried on dresses until she found one that was.

The mom and uncle kept saying, "That's what we want....her mother and I envision....." and so on. They could care less about what the bride wanted. Complete narcissistic behavior from the both of them. The uncle bursting into tears was such emotional manipulation on his part. They both wanted to make the bride feel bad for even thinking about not getting the gown they wanted to see her in. The fact that at the end, after she compromised and got the dress she never wanted, they were telling her she could only wear the dress she loved at the very very end of the reception. Disgusting behavior from mom and uncle, I feel so bad for the bride that she's been conditioned to think that this is normal behavior. Lisa, the consultant, should have never had given mom and uncle so much control over her brides appointment. She should have bolstered her up to give her the confidence to stand up to those horrid people. Randy would have circled it back to what the BRIDE wanted.

Why ask the bride what she wants then give her the opposite. They do this a LOT.

Wow I can’t believe how they’re trying to manipulate this poor girl. It’s more about her day not reliving what you want! I’m glad mom came around to the second dress. Which I thought was beautiful on her. She did look more bridal in the first gown. Then they try to control when she gets to wear reception gown. Stop being so controlling!

I kind of feel for the bride. She's stuck compromising on her vision for her mother and her uncle.

IMO it isn't just the dress: these two have probably hijacked the entire wedding: venue, flowers, bride's colors, etc. They are probably paying for everything to ensure that they get the wedding of their dreams, and she doesn't want to disappoint them. But where does she draw the line? Are they going to have a say in what house she and DH buy, what colors to do the nursery, what to name their baby and the list goes on. If I were the bride, I would feel suffocated being forced even through love to live out mom/uncle's fantasy. Of course, if it were me, I would elope rather than become their living Barbie doll. These two mean well and obviously love the bride to bits but it is time for them to let go and allow her, her own choices.

That's a mess of a dress. The consultant should've focused on what the bride wants instead of trying to please the entourage. Uncle Steve needs his own appointment for his own dress. This was a very sad appointment.

Ive been in the wedding industry for over 25 years and it still stuns me how some family members want what they like, and pay zero attention to the bride. A lot of "me me, me" its shocking!😠

The bride didn't love the wedding dress, and the mother and uncle didn't care. They only cared about their dress dreams. I've never such total selfishness of a bride's family. It was so sad to see the bride asking what time could she put on the reception dress. That makes me think she's lived a life of being controlled. I hope she is not marrying a controlling man.

So many of the comments say that the bride needs to stand up for herself or get a backbone but imagine what her life was like growing up with those two. Her thoughts and opinions and desires have probably been beaten down her entire life up until that point. I imagine the way she compromised like this is what she has always had to do to survive and try and get anything near what she would like to have. So I completely support this bride and hope her husband fully understands the type if people her mother and uncle are so he can help the bride to heal and learn to stand up to those who would run her over with their opinions.

What the uncle does in his own time is his own business, but he doesn't need to be in a bridal salon looking at dresses that he thinks will suit him. If she can, I think it's best if a bride can save up for her own gown and then all she has to please is herself. She looked beautiful in both dresses, but that's not the point.

I got married at age 18. I worked and saved my own money and went all by myself, not my Mom, not my sister, no friend. Just me. I didn’t want anyone else telling me what THEY THOUGHT I should wear.
