It is the shade of red that Hindus use for weddings. They do sometimes come into Bridal stores looking for BRIGHT red dresses; in that culture, white is for funerals. Plenty of Hindus in NYC.

Why? Because the groom puts an opinion on the dress? Men are allowed to have opinion, too. Especially for their wedding. I get it’s the woman’s dress and her choice but the groom still deserves to have that opinion if the bride chooses.

Of course, bride gets final say since it’s her dress, but if the husband hates it and isn’t happy with it then I think he should get a say considering it’s his wedding, too. Both partners should be happy with their wedding. If the groom is invited to dress shop, he obviously gets to have a say. If he isn’t invited, then that’s that. It’s not like a mom being controlling of her daughter’s wedding dress, since she isn’t the one getting married, is she? Think about this: In this scenario you are a groom and go tuxedo shopping, inviting your fiancé. If she says she doesn’t like the tux you like, are you going to listen to her opinion? Likely you would be, because she’s a woman. Think about that. I hate double standards for sexism.

Actually the idea of beides wearing white to their wedding is fairly new. And it many MANY cultures asides from us westerners, white is a color for funerals. So they have gorgeous colored wedding gowns. I believe you should get married in whatever the hell makes you happy.

Like I think they might have had long conversation about different dresses and then Monte must have shown him many wild dresses and he would have had chosen the red one so, cut to the final scene they hanged red dress and made him choose it on camera.
