Bride Wants 2 “Princess Glam” Dresses For $13,000 In TOTAL?! | Say Yes To The Dress 

The fact that $13k is not enough money to buy two dresses is insane to me.

Bride was pretty unrealistic going into this thinking she could buy two Pnini dresses for $13,000. She’s lucky Pnini is a sweetheart to give her a deal! Also, with the $2,000 left in her budget after choosing the original Pnini, she could have also tried on less expensive mermaid style dresses in another brand.

So we all gonna ignore the fact that she had $2k balance n said she doesnt hv enough for a second dress. Us as the SYTTD fans know very well thea brides who show up with a 1K budget and still end up with beautiful dresses.

$ 13.000.000 for two dresses for a single day is insane!

She never even tried on a fitted dress to see whether she was going to like that silhouette on her...a very expensive gamble!

This is everything that's wrong with the bridal industry in general. Hype up needing two dresses, drive up the budget, and create unrealistic ideas about "dream dress", "dream wedding", "wow factor", etc. and these brides are drawn into this and end up spending stupid amounts of money for one or two dresses that are only worn less than 12 hours. Spending $11,000 for an overpriced (dresses are marked up 100%) dress that she will wear for what? An hour? Where's the money in the budget for the overpriced veil? Shoes? Headpiece? Alterations? Taxes?? Just idiocy run amok.

When deciding on a budget, a lot of brides fail to consider the extras that inherently come hand-in-hand with buying a wedding gown. Things like, the headpiece, the veil, the shoes, the jewelry, AND the alterations, all of which can throw the budget in overdrive by thousands of dollars that the bride didn't think about. So effectively, this bride, for instance, comes in with a 13k budget for 2 Pnina gowns fully expected to get what she came for, but when the bill comes due for the "extras", that budget will have been long since blown. At the end of the day, is that really worth it for a dress or dresses you'll only wear once? I feel it's better to save that money for a new house, a fantastic honeymoon, or just something more permanent and life-changing than a four-hour party that most guests don't even wanna go to and will forget once they leave. I also feel that, though few will admit it, I would not be surprised to discover just how many brides look back with regret at the financial choices they made for the wedding (gown, flowers, invitations, etc...) once the bills start to roll in.

OH C'MON, I wanted to see the finished dress.

Too many brides are TOO concerned with what the fiance wants to see the brides in. If she is gonna wear it, she should choose it, not him. If he loves her, what difference does it make WHAT she wears? If he loves her, she should be able to wear a potato sack and not worry about him not being happy. I feel it's more about him and his ego and the way it makes HIM look to others if his bride isn't "hot" on their wedding day. It's ridiculous. I just wish women had more courage to choose for themselves which gown they'll wear on the day they've been dreaming about since they were little girls.

There is absolutely no way I would be bargaining with a designer for dresses that I can’t afford 😮……. no way!

I found Crystal online. She came from a really rough background and went on to earn multiple higher education degrees. Reading her story, I was even happier that her Pnina dress dream came true. I couldn’t find wedding pictures though to see the dress. Oh well, enough snooping around on the internet 👀

My husband would have been happy to see me in a bin bag if it made me happy and that’s why we’ve been married 27 yrs . We had a really simple wedding with just our nearest and dearest that , that was also with a small budget . A wedding doesn’t make a marriage . 😊x

Good grief, There are so many wedding designers that have all kinds of wedding dresses. For that kind of money you could buy 3/4 dresses, and have the same looks.

Too bad, I feel like she could have looked more beautiful in another designer's dress if she was open to trying other dresses on. She limited herself and to hear about a skirt going from 6k to 3k in a minute 😱 she paid way too much.

Say what you want about Pnina, but I’ve seen her do these compromises before. Some of her dresses are very elegant and gorgeous. I’m glad she was there to help her.

I'm sorry....why two dresses? It's her dress and her fiance should be happy she is happy!

My immediate thought was, why not get a dress with an overskirt that she can remove? Would still be cheaper than 2 dresses most of the time. But she was so set on Pnina that she wouldn't consider anything else it seems. And that specific Pnina gown...I feel like we've seen it so many times, every time a bride wants something very glam and over the top and "makes a statement", but it always seems kind of tacky to me.

How horrible if she spent all that money and didn’t even like the final product. I can’t imagine that dress would look the same and seamless with separate skirts attached, based on the fabric & how the jewels are situated.

When Pnina compromised to help her it looked like she expected it....didnt even thank her. Also she said at the beginning "im a pnina bride" im sure she has looked at many of her dresses online and should have been more realistic with her budget. Happy she got what she wanted though.

Spending 1,000 let alone 13K is too much for a dress you only wear once. Which will eventually end up in a landfill.

Omg $13k is a lot but if the person has it they should spoil themselves these are always so interesting to watch seeing what people end up buying for their big day.

It's so funny when she said two dresses for 13000.00$ I was like not a Pnina dress. But Pnina is so kind, gracious and very rich.

I feel that she may have benefited by at least trying on a mermaid style dress just to see if she liked it. Then add a skirt over that. It may have worked out cheaper, maybe. I'm sure I've seen them do that before. Or have one dress by a different designer.

Mark Zunino dresses are way more elegant and glamorous than Pnina's. Her designs are totally overrated !!

What's sad about this is that she feels like she has to have two dresses because her man is so worried about her needing to wear a tight sexy dress :( He should be wanting more than anything for her to be happy. It's her day and her dream dress should be all she needs. I worry about what other things he will require when they are married. Any man who really loves a woman will want her to be happy over his own silly need for her to be sexy all the time; especially on their wedding day.

When they put the veil on them, I hear cha-ching. Why does anyone need 2 dresses? Unless you're in a traditional ethnic wedding that requires costume changes, can't you enjoy the day in one great dress?

But then she goes for the most overpriced designer so she can't afford two dresses. You could buy two dresses for $1000 if you know where to look.

I don’t understand spending so much money on a single use dress. It was explained to me that in by gone days when women had a much harder and austere life the wedding dress would be pulled out and looked at so the wife could remember at least one happy day. Do we really have to buy them anymore? Can’t we just rent them like men rent their tuxes? I paid $500 for mine and regretted paying that much.

It sounds like she was getting a deal, but my bet is that the designer and store are making a huge profit. $3 k for a skirt is a huge markup. You can buy a whole gown for ½ that. The largest cost to designer is selling, she already has the equipment, staff & fabric. This is creating a new market for second skirts, they have already created the “ must have two gowns” expectation. Watch the UK version of this show, gowns are a third of the price with far more options Re styles. US styles appear to be quite limited.

I feel like a lot of brides who fall in love with the big skirt gowns (especially the ones with tulle skirts) come to regret it early on the wedding day once they truly get a feel for carrying those skirts around so they don't drag on the floor, AND seeing how often the skirt gets snagged/caught on things as she walks by. There are so many little details brides need to consider before allowing her initial love for a dress to take her over because once the dress is purchased, it's pretty much too late by the time she starts to think about those details she was blinded to.

She could have bought a whole husband-pleasing dress with $3k. I don't think her husband cares who the designer is.

It's gorgeous - just can't imagine spending that on a dress for one day. We got married at the courthouse, I wore a tea length dress that was affordable, we had sandwiches and a cake from Tim Hortons. Best day ever.

So fiancé needs to cough up the dough for the other dress. Also, there dresses, I remember this from other episodes, start at $1500.00. Get a cheaper one that is cheaper and fits in the budget. Also, being a plus size myself, remember we always pay more. Expect it.

If the absolute budget is 13K for two dresses. then budget for "her" dress shall be 6.5K, and budget for "his" dress shall be $6.5 if she allows the man to dictate what his dress preference.
