LOVED the dress she bought 9 months ago. Gorgeous ! It would have been perfect for a sunset wedding on the beach. Has she ever been on a beach with evening ocean breezes and sand getting into all her sparkles? The 9 months old dress wins. And what's with the Pnina Tornai signature corset look? Every time I see one, I think of some old western movie with the bar girls wearing their underwear. EDIT: Looked her up. She got married in 2012, so this is 11 years old. I watched the entire video, then went back to the beginning for a second look at Amy in her original dress - it is SO, SO, SO much better on her than the Kleinfeld's gown that she selected (and every other one that was shown on this video). I preferred it as is, but she could've added blingy jewelry (I think that a blingy belt would've detracted from the look, but still a possibility), changed out the veil and gotten flowers to match the dress - it would have been b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l Instead, she spent ANOTHER $2,800 + tax + (I'm sure) a new veil for a gown that belongs in the boudoir.

It’s nice to have a dress you really like, but the perfect dress is not essential. 15 years ago my daughter got married on the $10,000 budget. It was so much fun and so wonderful. The groom had tears in his eyes as she walked down the aisle.. After pre-marital counseling, 15 years, 5 kids, counseling when they hit a rough patch, marriage enrichment programs thru their church, they have a strong marriage, strong commitment, strong faith, lots of laughter, and a great family! So some of the wedding details weren’t perfect- but how many people have such a wonderful marriage 15 years later? That’s what’s important!!!

Destination wedding: What you do when you only want your WEALTHY friends to attend (after all, they'll be the ones shelling out for the good gifts!). A person I thought was a close friend didn't invite hubby & me to her wedding, explaining it was just family & a few old friends, I was cool w/ that. Then at a party at my house, bride's mom went on & on to my mother about the super elegant expensive sit-down dinner at an exclusive restaurant in Beverly Hills & said she was sure I understood about not being invited. Bless my mom, she said rather tartly, "I guess I'd rather have good friends than a fancy meal!" At later parties at their house I discovered that virtually everyone at those parties had been invited. So glad I just sent a nice congratulations card, no gift, though we could easily have afforded something really nice!

I'm a seamstress. If you have five months, it IS possible that a sewist can make you something you love! I just made my Sil's wedding dress over about four months. It had lots of appliqués, so lots of handwork. So if you can't find something you love in a bridal salon, look around for a sewist. They might be able to help!

@gardenjoy5223

@@clover1az49 It's not like she worked for 4 months on that dress only! It would cost a fortune otherwise. She did it besides her normal work. You can't just close shop for 4 months and then expect former customers to return, once you're done. Plus: this bride already had a beautiful dress. A seamstress might have been able to spice it up for a few 100s.

That's hardly blessed. She's turned out to be spoiled and impatient. That''s just called an unrighteous society. But when you squander that much money away, you better not die before you repented of it. Her dress is her idol to whom she sacrifices.

Well she did have dress which she ended up not liking. Probably hoped that maybe she change her mind. You can see she’s indecisive. Not to mention a lot of women don’t know that it takes a lot of time for some designers to make a dress. I knew once I got engaged I went straight to the stores to look. Since I didn’t know my size and style I wanted (rarely ever wear dresses )

I am so annoyed with that girl ugh! She shops way too late for a dress, then she has a 3 k budget for an almost 6 k dress she has set her mind to. She doesn’t want to try on anything and is moping and she picked an ugly dress that does not look good just because she wants the trashy Panino look. Terrible dress for a wedding in Jamaica.

What's the obsession with Pnina dresses? The vast majority seem tacky to me, and way overpriced. Mark Zenino dresses are much more elegant, classy and special. To each their taste, but I think her marketing is a lot more aggressive.

Interesting contrast between the two brides. The first waits until the last minute to shop, has inflexible expectations, and the staff bend the rules for her. The second bride knew she wanted a different look in her wedding gown and worked hard to lose four dress sizes. The first bride shirked her responsibility, the second bride owned hers.
