Especially all the girl has been through and possibly wouldnt have lived long to get married, she should be seen as beautiful in all the dresses she tried on.

Maybe mom didn’t get to choose her dress.

It is because they want to control what their daughters wear. My mom was the same way. She controlled what I wore for regular clothes too.

I think sometimes they edit things to make it more dramatic than it is. But I am always shocked at some of the things mothers will say to their kids.

And her mum has been through it all with her every step of the way and has had to live with the fact that her daughter could die at any moment. Do you not think that the bond between them is as tight as it could be? Of course she cares what her mum thinks!

Well I actually liked the last dress better, but you could tell she loved the first dress best, she glowed when she put that on I felt she picked the dress her mom loved to please her.

Agreed with the original comment. The bride has been though so much and may have never been able to plan a wedding. Any dress she’s in should be seen as beautiful on her.

It wasn't really the family, it was the voiceover that repeated the same thing over and over and the editing which made it look as if the family were going on about it. In the end it makes you grit your teeth every time someone says 'double lung transplant'! She is a lovely girl and I'm really pleased for her but as you say it only needed to be mentioned at the beginning and then on to the dress shopping.

That’s absolutely correct. I guess the negative comments come from people that cannot understand that are families that love each other and support each other and stay together in good and bad times. True testimony of how good her mother is that this girl has not only survived against all odds but mom raised a wonderful human being along with her siblings. 👏👏👏

It was my favorite too. And she looked stunning but the problem was that they didn’t like the roses on the skirt. The last dress had the bottom that they were looking for.

Well, the daughter said that to please her mom, but she loved the first dress best. I feel like her being ill all her life and her mom always by her side she felt she owed her mom.

If a mom has been told early on in her child’s life that her child wouldn’t be alive past adulthood and then a miracle occurs and her child is now planning her wedding, minor things like too many flowers or embellishments on a dress should not matter. Her mom should see her as being beautiful in any dress and should be grateful that her child is still alive when the mom was told this would never be possible. It’s a very touching story, but the mother doesn’t seem to be phased that her daughter has been through so much and I wouldn’t expect a mom that has fought to kept her daughter alive by sort of nitpicking minor details on a dress she’s gonna wear 4 hours max. The mom should see all it took to get here rather than what she wears to celebrate getting there.

Absolutely correct. She loved the first dress and looked stunning on her but since she tried on, she wasn’t happy with the roses in the skirt. Finally the last dress was perfect for her. 🥰

Also, 23andme does genetic testing to see if you are a cystic fibrosis carrier. Worth finding out if going to have children down the road.

Exactly what I was going to say! You've got a store full of gowns, maybe encourage her to try a different style. Many are surprised they end up loving a style they never considered. But even sticking with the same style, you've got hundreds of dresses that look almost completely the same. Most brides on this show end up looking like the 100 brides before them as the gowns are really not much different. It's actually getting boring...

Mom is grateful and loving that’s the reason she tried until the bride was absolutely happy with the perfect dress.

⁠@@mariesmith1616it wasn’t until the mom got up and started rummaging the racks for a dress that please her; not for her own daughter. She picked a dress that wasn’t anything like the bride described she wanted. Also there were limited options since she only had a 3k budget. The bride obviously was more focused on pleasing her mom than herself. She looked great in everything and tbh her mom should’ve not fretted minuet details in every dress and should just been happy if her daughter came out with 2 ply toilet paper wrapped around her. And the mom barely showed emotion. I’ve seen other brides on this show that are cancer survivors, got in car accidents or loss a loved one or the brides original love of their life died and they are getting remarried and their moms demonstrate way more class and seem more genuine to their daughters’ second chance than this mother.
