I understand getting frustrated with kate but honestly, as a sister if i heard what anthony said about women in the first episode, i too would not vibe with him that much 😂. But their bickering is hilarious i love how she keeps Anthony on his toes

Its weird how people get so angry at Kate but understood anthony in season 1. They are a mirror of eachother. Plus Edwina keeps saying she wants love and Anthony cant give him that, Kate knows that.

I just don't get how anyone can dislike Kate. When judging Kate you must reflect back on her private conversation with Lady Danbury in E-1. Kate explained her hard work of 8 years to achieve security for the family and true love for her baby sister. I'm sure she could have, instead, found love and been off living her best life, leaving her stepmother and sister to fend for themselves.

Exactly! The Kate hate just feels one-sided. It totally negates her reasoning. She is not a one-note character but quite complex and strategic in her decision making. It might be flawed but it comes from a place of deep love for her sister

Sure that sounds great but she's still essentially marrying off her sister for financial freedom for her family. Just because we're sprinkling in a bit of love doesn't remove that very important fact.

@Syntell but again, back to her conversation with lady dunbury, her reasoning for not telling her sister about "the Sheffield's plan" was to make sure there's no pressure on edwina and that she finds a man she loves to marry bcz according to Kate, if Edwina knew.. she would marry the first convenient man .. 🤷‍♀️

@@nassifamen5397 Not just to find a man that SHE loves ... that's the easy part. "To find love", obviously, a man who will LOVE HER also. Like Anthony said on the terrace, he will have no problem "charming the piece". It is the men who just wanted to get the girls "wed, bed and bred and move on to more pleasurable pursuits". I have been obsessed with S2 for 1.5 years. I've watched Kate/Anthony related scenes more times than I can count. I've also read so many comments that prove people just don't get it. Like thinking Edwina should make her own choice. Well she did make her own choice, a man who told her, in a room full of people, that he didn't believe in the same things she did (love). Edwina had nice, rich men without "dubious libertine" reputations to pick from. Like a typical rebellious teenager, she chose him. And the rest is history. I just think people should absorb the entire storyline not just see spoiled, sheltered, naive Edwina as the victim.

Yes. So many people focus on Edwina's "right" to decide. Kate provided the facts about Anthony, still Edwina snubbed her and gave into Anthony. That is the point at which I would have let baby sister take whatever lumps, this man who just told you in a room full of people, that he doesn't believe in love, might come her way.

Anthony did the same thing Kate is doing in s1 with Daphne. The way she acts is 100% valid. Anthony has stated multiple times he’s not marrying for love and Kate knows that. Edwina is marrying for love and he’s made it clear he can’t give her that. Kate is just protecting her sister from spending the rest of her life being miserable and regretful.

a lot of what kate is doing may rub you guys wrong if you keep looking at her under the lens of edwina's sister. but she is really edwina's guardian/second mother in the same way anthony is his sibling's guardian/father/head of the household. she may come across overbearing but it comes from a place of protection and love. elder daughters can really relate to her lol

I don't get it how anyone can dislike kate. She has every right to be selfish but she does everything for her sister and stepmother to be happy. She even choose to live a lonely life for her family to live good life. I hope in the future episodes when edwina wouldn't listen kate and do the exact opposite what she said you wouldn't blame kate for edwina's decision.

Maybe i haven’t get to it but i don’t understand why you’re annoyed with Kate in this episode specifically. I mean, at this point i feel like she’s the only one with good intentions toward her sister in the sense of her stopping every attempt of Anthony. Edwina has been saying many times that she wants a love match and on the contrary, Anthony has said many times also that he doesn’t want love in his mariage. So why would Kate want him to get with her sister after learning about that and hearing him behind the bush last episode ?

Y’all are giving Kate a lot and not giving Anthony enough. Kate loves her sister, and while overbearing, she is doing what she believes is best for her. She made that very clear in the first episode. Anthony is quite literally doing everything he can to spite Kate. He doesn’t truly care for Edwina, and if he knows that’s not the case, then why put her through that? He’s literally treating her as a prize to win JUST because he knows Kate is trying to push him away. Giving him the “oo’s and ahh’s” but Kate the “ew’s and uhh’s” doesn’t make sense at all to me.

Yeah I'm excited you guys watched another one!!!!! Side note: the show doesn't do a good enough job of making it clear that Kate is essentially an orphan. She calls Mary mama, even though her birth mom died when she was young. Mary is Kate’s step mom. Edwina and Kate only share the same father.

I love this season. The number of strong women in this show has really made it one of my favorite shows ever. Kate is trying to secure a love match with someone that can provide for Edwina and her mother. Kate may make a few missteps but her heart is certainly in the right place. Omg the Bridgerton joke you made is so on the nose and absolutely hilarious and 100 percent true! Lol I really enjoyed your reactions!

Kate and Edwina grew up in a household where the parents had a love match, and Kate genuinely doesn't believe Anthony will offer that to Edwina -- or anyone. So, while she may feel some unwilling attraction, I do believe she is worried for Edwina.

Another episode so quickly of my favorite season with my two new favorite reactors? So here for this! As for Kate, Anthony and Edwina, Kate came on strong but it's because she knows this is a game for Anthony. He wants to win the prize that is Edwina and it's not about true feelings for her. Kate wants better for Edwina because she knows she wants love in her marriage and Anthony has said time and time again he will never love Edwina.

Never clip so fast! This season is so amazing! I love Kate and Eloise so much this season. Charlotte will always be my favorite though. I love that Anthony has found someone to vex him on a daily basis. I can’t wait for y’all to watch the new season. I’ve already watched the first 4 episodes and it’s wonderful! You guys are so mean to Kate. She cares for her family. She has been in charge of the family since her father died like Antony. Although I don’t agree with marrying someone off for money…..she had to. In that time, love match was actually rare. Money,status, and security was the reason for marriage. Along with continuing the line. Without that, they get sent off to work if the family didn’t have money to keep her.

Well, Kate is the one trying to get a love match for Edwina. If he has money and fits what the grandparents want, great. If not, fine. That is why she doesn't tell Edwina about the deal. She wants Edwina to have love, and Anthony states, even to Edwina, but Edwina thinks it'll be okay or that he'll change; I don't even know what's going on in her head.

@@winterlove7758 Yes, but that is precisely why Kate doesn't tell her about the Sheffield deal. If Edwina falls for someone with less money, she doesn't want her to feel guilty. (Indeed, Edwina does so in the book.) Of course, Edwina knows that a rich match would be best for the family finances, which is why she's talking about a duke or a prince and settles on a viscount.

I haven’t finished this season either. I watched what yall watched as well. lol l. I enjoy your reaction but Confuse with the frustrations you have with Kate. Regardless that Kate family needs money. She loves her sister and will try to get what her sister wants. Love. Someone who cares so much for their family is not going to let them be with someone that’s not going make them truly happy. She knows everything that her sister is looking for and is trying to get it. That’s not something common among this show community. Money is not a problem with finding among the suitors that’s interested. I really hope the little sister gets what they want and the other two don’t hurt her feelings. Since it’s so obvious from the first episode that Kate and Ant lust or like each other.

Love your reactions ❤ But you guys are ignoring the fact that,Kate is pretty aware that Anthony is not looking for love whatsoever..he's honest about it and youll get the explanation of why in the next episode so basically he wants a "perfect",good future partner and mother but he's already decided love is not what he's looking for 🤷‍♀️ he would actively avoid it.. so by approving him Kate would approve of a loveless marriage to her desperate romantic sister which obviously a no for Kate.. as you might remember even in her conversation with lady dunbury, her reasoning for not telling her sister about "the Sheffield's plan" was to make sure there's no pressure on edwina and that she finds a man she loves and who loves her back to marry bcz according to Kate, if Edwina knew.. she would marry the first convenient man .. 🤷‍♀️

Colin didn't mean that the way people took it. He was saying that he didn't plan to stay away from Penelope because she is his friend. That's what they are as far as he is concerned. He doesn't know she loves him and even if he did it doesn't obligate him to love her. Doesn't make sense that people dislike him for that. Unrequited love just happens some time. That's life!

I understand Kate, but at some point you gotta let people learn on their own. Anthony should have kept his mouth shut, even his siblings were having none of it. If he was bad Danbury would not see him as a potential match, Edwina might be in a loveless marriage, but she'll be taken care of which was the deal with the grandparents. And he might develop love for her. Men in those days probably talked that way in public with each other, but felt different. When we see Anthony looking for a wife, you can tell that he's looking for someone he can get along with and that he likes even if he doesn't wanna admit it to himself. He's trying to make it a business deal and marrying the diamond no matter who it is works with his cold approach.

I love Kate and Lady Danbury’s arguments, because Lady Danbury can push Kate to consider her actions as an individual and not solely as her family’s provider. As a formerly overprotective big sister, I have some sympathy for Kate. Right now she’s mostly scared for Edwina and just not dealing with it properly. Kate doesn’t know she’s in a romance, so she hasn’t yet recognized what her chemistry with Anthony means. And I’m so glad you guys are reacting to this season. It’s my favorite so far.

They're named in alphabetical order, so Benedict is the second brother. Also, boxer Mondrich and his wife talked about making moves with his funds before he's unable to fight anymore in season 1. So the new exclusive gentleman's club is not really something new; it's their next chapter. In that time, there would have been exclusive clubs where men would pay an annual membership fee to gather away from the riffraff. I'm guessing the writers kept Mondrich since he was someone we already know, and are comfortable with, who we could accept seeing in the company of the Bridgerton men while they're having personal discussions away from the house.

I’m so confused by hosts wanting Edwina to be with Anthony. He’s just trying to win. He doesn’t love her and has no interest to give her that. Kate isn’t blocking but she doesn’t want Edwina to be so taken with Anthony, who isn’t a good match for her, at the expense of finding someone who could be a good fit. Their take is so annoying.

In fact this season, I didn't like Lady Danbury much. She was hypocrite here. Like how in season 1 she was like oh! Love is important and here, so many times, she will change her tune. I liked her more in season 1 thn here. As for Kate, she was actually not pressuring Edwina. She knew how Anthony doesn't wanted to marry for love and his thoughts about marriage and Edwina always wanted love match. And Anthony bringing gift because he is rich for Edwina is like you buying attention in this case. His whole idea was to marry, get her pregnant and be with different mistresses. Edwina would have been miserable with this kind of marriage. Anthony and Kate had similar story. A burden of taking care of their family and they never got the chance to grief. We will learn more about Anthony's story. Unfortunately, they cut Kate's backstory which was in the book. But I am hoping you will like these leads as the time goes by because trust me Kate doesn't need redemption. She is selfless who is willing to sacrifice everything for her sister. You will see how she only gives and later you realize how Kate sees Edwina but Edwina never saw her. At least, I did. So, when in later episode, Edwina will do exactly opposite of what Kate said - She should take the responsibility coz she never listened once when Kate was shouting - Anthony doesn't want love in marriage. If someone blames Kate for Edwina's blind action and me, me, me and this is what I want, then it would be so upsetting. Hoping you will Kate & Anthony as much as I did. They are my fav couple. FYI, Kate will not gain anything from Edwina marrying a rich guy. In fact, she was the one taking care of their finances after their father died for 8 years instead of Mary (the step mom). She wants to secure Edwina and Mary's future and still doesn't want to burden Edwina to marry just anyone for the sake money. She is hiding it so Edwina can actually find a true love and is trying hard to keep her away from Anthony who doesn't want love and will never love Edwina. Once Edwina gets married, she will leave Mary and Edwina and go back to India without a single penny, living a lonely life as a governess with little money. She won't gain a thing in this deal.

These two girls would have been expected to marry, even if Kate didn't bring them to England. It was what women were expected to do back then. They don't have money of their own to inherit as Kate and Edwina's father was not wealthy. They rely on men for a home and safety. Otherwise they will be in poverty. Kate wants her sister to be safe, but to also find love...not to be taken advantage of by men who don't care about ruining her or sleeping with mistresses, or treating her like she is a baby maker to be looked down on. What Anthony said about women, and finding a wife was terrible and nasty. I would not have trusted him with a little sister of mine either.
