I am always saying WE GOT THIS in real life and online. We all have our own struggles and I believe we can get through anything together. When I was diagnosed with cancer in September, I thought this was my own struggle but I realised my cancer has affected everyone around me. I am a daughter, a girlfriend, a sister, a friend, a cousin, a grand daughter & more. I know my journey has affected everyone around me and I know now more than ever that I have no choice but to get better. Whatever life throws at us, we are going to get through it together. Hi tiffany, I was a nurse practitioner for 33yrs ,I took a year off due to stress and then discovered I had breast cancer, that was over 4 yrs ago I am cancer free and I now run a small cake business from home ,live your life and find your joy xxx I made Christmas puddings and Christmas cakes today ,making iced cookies tomorrow x

Mary from the frey life has a chronic illness and I can't tell you how many holidays she spent in the hospital. You absolutely have to bring Christmas there. They had a small tree, lights around the room, stockings . Everything! They ordered in good and watched Christmas movies. You all can enjoy a beautiful Christmas wherever you are ♥️♥️

Growing up in hospitals my mom would decorate my room for whatever holiday. Just having a tiny tree and lights in my room at Christmas helped me smile. It’s the little things that can mean so much.

Me too! My mum made covers for the seizure protection cushions I'd have on my bed. She loved finding fun patterns, she still does it for my other medical things! I have IV nutrition which needs to be protected from the light, so she makes covers for the IV bags, she makes me custom mini bag things for my morphine pump, basically anything that can be customised, she will! She'd always make the nurses laugh, when they'd finished admitting me to the hospital and took me to my room/bed, my mum would whip out the bag she kept all those things in, and within 5 minutes she'd have little lights up, my blankets on the bed, that kind of thing! It absolutely made a huge difference in not making having to spend more time in hospital than at home, less tranumatising than it could have been

Oh, get the LED pillar candles for your hospital room! You can even put them on timers (and some have remotes) so you can have them on only at night when the ward dims the lights. I think the staff will love some cheer and I honestly think it will help you heal faster to be surrounded by beautiful decorations that you love.

One needs to check that the hospital allows patients to bring in electrical items from home. Places can view that as a safety concern and special permission can be needed for plug into power at hospital items.

I love the closeness you share with your sister. There’s nothing in the world like a sister. My sister gave me a jar of Advent cards that have a mindfulness task to do each day. The first day is to sing a Christmas carol & pay attention to the words, melody & memories it invokes. Your Harry Potter socks reminded me of the Advent cards because my sister got it for me, & she loved it SO much, she went & got herself one. I think when you are in the hospital the more you can feel like yourself with your own pajamas, pillow, cozy blanket, etc the better!! Also, i find that a shower/ washing hair, even if the nurse has to help you or give you a bed bath can feel amazing when you/re in the hospital. When my family has been in the hospital for extended times we always thank the nurses/techs all of the time and even bring little snacks, candies or something as thank you for the people who take care of you. It really goes a long way and they will take the best care of you.

I worked in a hospital, and many of our patients decorated their rooms for Christmas. Christmas lights make the room look very cheerful. And a Christmas throw blanket on the bed. I am so proud of you Tiffany! Celebrate living! Fours years ago when we as a family was told by our son doctors to say our good byes just before they wheeled him into surgery, we were devastated not knowing if we’ll see him again, god however had other plans because he survived the surgery! Even though he’s got ongoing issues and in and out of hospital he’s alive because he remained strong and positive! Just like your mun I never left his side as a matter of fact I stay with him at his house taking care of him and of course I do pay for additional carers because he requires a full 24 hours care! I changed my Christmas decor last year to pastel colors…I made all new ornaments, crocheted a tree skirt!!! I will be making additional ornaments this year as I attach one to each gift…also making my grandson’s an advent calendar…they will open a small present daily from December 1st through 24th. I luv the joy of the holidays and spending time with family and friends!!! If allowed, definitely deck out your hospital room and take the holidays with you!!! Your dinner looked delicious!!! I had my second surgery yesterday, and after I had cleared up the fog from anesthesia a bit I looked to see if you had posted on RU-vid, I was thrilled to see that you had, but I waited overnight. So I watched this morning with a mocha Frappuccino and it was such a lovely video. It's like being with my good friend who has helped me in my journey in so many ways. I feel like everyone across the globe is decorating early this year. Dear Tiffany, you are such an inspiration to anyone who follows your journey. So many people with so many battles of their own can see that they can do this too. I love the idea of wearing christmas pj's etc... in hospital. I am sure it will add a special touch and bring a smile to who ever is around you. Maybe you could take a small xmas garland that could be hung at the bottom of the bed or even your little trees from your table to go on your food trolley? They come in so many flavours and you're supposed to drink them alone out of the fridge and shaken. They each have 300 calories, 12 g protein and 28 vitamins and minerals.

Love you all so much!! Your trees and decorations are so beautiful but not over done. I love the "girly one" alot. I wanted to tell you that I have adopted Oma as my Mom as well. My Mom and I were so close like the two of you. My Mom passed 6 years ago Christmas Day and my birthday is 2 days after Christmas. My Mom, like yours, was so sweet, kind and loving and always ready with a hug for whoever needed one. She was 89, but losing her hurt all the same. Some people feel that someone who passes at an older age you should be prepared. There is no way to be prepared for the loss of someone who was a part of you. She lived with us full time the last eight years. Anyway, I will be more joyous this year because I have all of you to love and care about. Is it okay with you that I have asked you to share your Mom!!! Please give your entire family my love. BTW my name is Janet and I live in the US in the state of Florida. My husband Jack and I have been married 32 years and we have rescued dogs are entire marriage. Take care and WE GOT THIS! Getting a sweatshirt for my Christmas and Birthday! Love you all 💖. Janet

This was just a cozy, comfy vlog and I loved it. I'm so glad that you decided to decorate the house for the time you will be there before your surgery and for your family. Your decorations are beautiful! My grandmother had to spend a Christmas in hospital and we found a little table top tree to put on her nightstand and a few smaller decorations to put around her bed. It really cheered up the place and made it more personal. I like the idea of Christmas socks and nighties too. Love you bunches. P.S. I had steak and fries for my supper tonight. Simple and easy.

Tiff - both flat leaf and curly parsley are so easy to grow. I've got pots in the garden with both of them plus chives, sage, oregano, rosemary, mint, dlll and more Parsley in particular keeps going right into winter - I've just been out this evening, and cut some as I use it when I make garlic butter. You should get some herbs from the garden centre and start growing. They will also thrive on window sills. x

Tiff, get all the Christmas stuff you want for the hospital. It will give you a real boost, (which is brilliant for the immune system) because you love Christmas so much. Get yourself one of the tiny real trees, they're about a foot tall, but are super cute xx

I told my parents about your struggle and they have passed on the into all the other branches of the family, and moreover I've got a big family and I'm happy to say your one among them now😍 they are all praying for you and your family. Oh Tiffany you really should bring lots of Christmas things to hospital! Make your own little grotto all round your bed. I’m sure it’ll bring cheer to the whole ward and encourage others to do the same. If you’re not sure about what you’ll be allowed to bring, then just leave it all ready for Matt to bring it in if you get the ok from the staff!! Also, you need that Christmas smell, so while you can’t light a candle maybe you could get a small room spray and you could spritz a little onto a little cushion or small stuffed gnome etc. We are all sending you lots of love and prayers. ❤

Hi Tiffany, I live on Vancouver Island in Canada. Many years ago, when I was pregnant with my first child, I got terribly sick and was in hospital for 6 months of my pregnancy. I was not allowed to get out of bed for anything. When the holidays came around, the nurses were so supportive of bringing some of the holidays in my hospital room. Anything to bring me cheer. The only stipulation was that the things we brought in could not get in their way of taking care of me. No tripping hazards etc. We had a little christmas tree with lights and decorations on my window sill, and I had a little plush snowman on my bedside table. I had Christmas socks and a really cozy christmas plush blanket for my bed. I also had a little shelf in the corner of my room with a Christmas flower arrangement and a couple of little decorations on it. I highly recommend finding out if you can bring just a few little things in with you. It gave me something to look at instead of the gray dull hospital walls that I looked at for the rest of the 6 months I was there. It really gave me the lift I needed to get through each day. Hope this helps.

I was making the exact same meal for supper when I started watching your video..except I didn't put broccoli but mushrooms and some cream cheese with the cream..and lots of parmesan cheese..your house is beautifully decorated loved your xmas trees..I decorated mine about a week ago..you are looking beautiful and healthy..glad to see you looking much happier and doing the things you love..make the most of the time you have before going to hospital..I wish you all the best and cancer free next year this time..sending you lots of love ❤️. 🇬🇷

Tiffany,I went out yesterday and bought some Christmas lights for my little tree. When I saw all of your twinkling lights,I just wanted some too. DELICIOUS dinner you and Amma made together! Also I loved your beautiful friend's idea of putting a photo of you and Matt on top of your tree! And you said "Well it's not a wedding cake" and she said "well it reminds me of one!" Soooo sweet.... you two AND the baby. I once put a photo of my then 18yr old son on top of my tree, for when he got back from Uni as a joke - and you should have SEEN his face. Since you asked about what we are having for supper, I am going to have a roast yam with butter in it, some broad beans and an egg!!!!! Which is a very strange supper but I can't stand up for that long to cook, and it will be very tasty and good for me, I know. I used to drink those terrible Fortisip drinks after my bone marrow transplant - and watching you drink your bottles makes me feel a bit queasy!! LOVE all your Christmas decorations.
