That building in Toulouse was absolutely exquisite! Oh, thank you so much for sharing it with us. WOW!! Please do go back and tour it and share it then if you are able. How interesting it will be to see the stained glass gallery and to learn what the curators have done there with the artist's fading stained glass faces.

So Marie, the way to get around the problem with the Mandoline, is to tell Stephanie you need a Robot Coupe that cost about £850 in the UK, LOL. Also isn't it about time we had the first Lalande Cook Book (Photos by Michael Potts, Ilistrationas by Michael Petherick and ratings by of course, Stephanie)!

Yes, very dangerous pieces of equipment. I used to work in an à la carte restaurant years ago. We always had to be watched by a chef when using one. Marie, please use the mandolin properly before you have an avoidable accident. 🙏

Get Marie a pair of woven metal gloves. The do sell them. I cut off a tiny bit of one of my fingers using that thing while making a dinner for family and friends. After I returned from the hospital All were waiting for me to finish dinner as they were clueless as to how to do it. We did eat, a bit late as you can imagine 🤣

Yes u r so correct! would b best if the steel glove came in the box with the mandoline. U do not need a costly steel glove u just have 2 b sure 2 use the glove every single time! Worst cut and difficult 2 heal some need stitches. Glove should come in the box really.

Your Aunt & Uncle are the most endearing couple, cannot wait until they visit you again. Your Mum is so much like your Grandma. Phillip with his ice cream spoons, God forbid you use a desert spoon. Never get between a perfectionist and his art. I love the Marie Antoinette dinnner plates, however I am torn between that and the Madame Du Barry Pink set.

Maybe MARIE will see this, maybe not. I cut a knuckle on my left hand (I'm left handed) whilst using a mandolin. I switched to my right hand to finish the job and sliced off the entire tip of my finger. Two years later, that finger is still numb.

You in that dress... i can c why it is a favorite! Another perfect video as always! Thank you! The German pure steel mandolin is the safest 1... u must use the steel glove 1000% of the time. Without the glove its basically a gullitine. The steel glove feels cool and nice and u r very perfectly safe the steel glove does not have 2b the costly 1. I wish Marie could enjoy a very nice mezzaluna set that is ultimatly safest 4 finely cut herbs.

@@circa1890 Chantal is the one and only Stephanie’s aunt. She is Isabelle’s sister. Stephanie calls her Tatinette, which means « little auntie » .

Chantal is the aunt's name but Stephanie gave her the pet name of "Tatinette". Tonton is the pet name for uncle in French. And when Stephanie pointed to another aunt in the photo named Chantal, it could be one of her uncle's wife also name Chantal (just guessing).

In the UK in the late 70s it was called a "Purdey cut" (created by John Frieda) after Joanna Lumley's character in the New Avengers (UK 1970s TV show not the recent movie franchise) Looks like the style happened both sides of the Atlantic at around the same time but Yusuke Suga took credit for the American version as worn by Dorothy Hamill

My wife and I we’re FREAKING OUT when Marie was slicing the apples. There is nothing more dangerous in a kitchen than the mandolin. My wife Miranda puts on a Kevlar glove just to look at the thing. Please tell her that she nearly gave folks in Arkansas a heart attack and to never do that again without a Kevlar glove lol
