The sight of 47s was almost a monotonous one back then! but how we wished we could wind the clock back to those days now.

Who got 47814 out of it's pit then? This IBRA locomotive was in the Bath Road Charters and Extras (Reduced Usage) pool when this excellent video was taken. Also around the 2:00 mark we see 47824 without it's 'Glorious Devon' nameplates ... But still carrying three different liveries which it did from when renumbered during 1989. Quite a bizarre sight! 37219 I remember being painted like this from Rail Magazine during 1990 - this was done at Stratford IIRC and had some significance possibly in connection with a Depot Open Day - remember them? Extremely saddened to have recently seen that Bath Road (BR) has now been completely obliterated and very much sharing anyone else's 'these were the days' views and sentiments! :o)

Reminds me of my holidays with family back in the 80's to Weston. The long wait on a Saturday evening for the sleeper back north to Scotland.

The first one of the pair of Dutch 37's is 174, you can tell due to grey band over the cab windows

I visited TM a couple of years back - it was not the greatest experience. The whole place seemed over sized compared to the trains using it. At least the new (then) 800s looked the part. It almost defies belief that the Voyager replaced 10(+) coach loco hauled trains on the Cross Country services.
