haha I love how you keep looking into the camera and giving us "omg, America, wtf?! "-looks 😆 The more I keep watching "American reacts to different countries"-videos, the more I am convinced America is the....how to put as nice as I can?....."weirdest" place in the world.

As a Swede, I hate this arrogant and smug bullying of US citizens! (But no one mentions what *should* be criticised about the US any more, i.e. it's criminal political infiltrations and war mongering in other countries.)

She went to a swedish cafe in the us to test a "Fika". She went in bought coffee and a bun or something. And then went out and sat in here car drinking coffee. 🤦‍♂️ I told her thats not the right way to take fika. They do everything "on the go". 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Those disposable grills are really hard to come by these days, but they were super big 10 years ago. Many shops here in Sweden stopped selling them (almost all) due to fire danger and environmental concerns.

Yeah back in the days there were even designated trash bins - for these grills only - in almost every city park.

Such funny comments from you two 😂 I think you learned a lot from this trip! I have traveled around the world alone twice. I’m a Swedish woman. 😊

Oh Dwane! As an American woman who has been living in Europe for the last 36 years, the first ten in Northern Germany and the last 26 in Sweden, I have SO MUCH empathy with both you and Kimberly! For instance, MORE than the VAST majority of Americans not only do not own a passport, but they have also not even one time in their entire lives, entertained the idea of getting one. As difficult as it is for even Americans to understand how enormous the US is, unless you are Russian or Chinese, it is desperately difficult to imagine. Just as you speak of traveling the long distance to anywhere in the UK from where you are to oh, New Zealand, WE imagine traveling the unimaginable distances from the West to the East coasts. I grew up in San Diego, California - approximately 10/20 kilometers north of the Mexican border at Tijuana, Baja California. I have visited Mexico exactly three times in my life, two of those visits lasting not longer than three hours. In my entire life of 74 years, I have NEVER visited the East Coast. I have never been in New York City, despite the fact that my mother spent many years of her childhood in the state of New York. Despite the fact that nearly every German I know has visited New York City. I have traveled from southern California to Oregon, Washington state, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, North Dakota (where I was born), through South Dakota, Kansas, Missouri and Arizona. Once I drove with my then husband, from San Diego through Texas to New Orleans, Mississippi in a wild 4 day visit with my husband’s brother. Oh, and I have been twice in Hawaii. So 13 or 14 states out of 50 over 40 years.

In Sweden we have a thing called “Jantelagen” the Jante law that basically means that you are not allowed to brag about how good you are at things. We don’t like people who brag or say that they are good at something. That’s why we always say that we are not good at things.

Oh! It’s interesting that you mention how the water tastes different depending on where you are. I’m a ”göteborgare” so I’ve lived in Gothenburg my whole life. But my parents are from Vänersborg originally. We have a summer house in between the city’s, sort of. But my mom always says that the water tastes so good there and is much like when she was a child. I don’t like it though. It’s sweeter somehow and has more flavor. Makes me think the water is cleaner at home but that’s not true. It’s just how I perceive it.

Here in Sweden we're getting exposed to English from early age since nothing is broadcasted with a voice over. Ok some childrens programs/series/movies gets voice over but not for the older ones so to speak. Regardless if it's a British movie/series or American still no voice over. Swedes kinda love maybe not everything but many things America and Britain! In modern/popular culture we're definetely influnced by America and Britain rather than our neighbour countries or rest of Europe.

You could fly to Copenhagen, spend a day there visiting the Blue Planet aquarium, and the shoppingstreet Ströget etc, then take the train that goes directly to to Gothenburg, spend a day there visiting Liseberg etc, then take the highspeed train directly to Stockholm.

due to drought in recent years, those disposable grills have been banned from being sold here in Sweden when the fire risk is too great. then you may only grill at home or at specified grilling areas. so when there is a fire ban in a certain area, you must not use anything with an open flame outdoors. then it is important to have food that does not need to be heated if you are camping in nature.

The last she did say is this. Alemensrätten The Right of Public Access in Sweden gives people the right to roam and do activities in the wild, such as hiking, picking berries and mushrooms, fishing and camping, on the condition that we respect nature and don't disturb landowners or animals. The Right of Public Access is not a law, but it's prescribed by laws.

I seem to recall that swimming lessons were very scarce during my school years... =/ Maybe a few times á year. Then again, many parents sign up their kids in certain swimming schools, but these are separated from the academic plan. Also, have not been in Los Angeles, but I have been to San Francisco once. During the days you wouldn't really pay much attention to who is homeless and not, but when the evening and night approaches, you suddenly see a lot of them. Sleeping in the street corners, the parks, and also in the subways. THAT was a shock to me as a swede in SF. =/

All Danes speak English. Mandatory from Day 1 in school. Think it is the same in Sweden. Else, please correct me. For our German viewers, 4 years of German is mandatory here in Denmark. Going to Sweden from Copenhagen Airport on train, is track 1. 26 minutes to Malmø City.
