Max Martin, Andreas Carlsson, Kristian Lundin, Jacob Hindlin, Oscar Holter, Alexander Kronlund, Carl Falk, Robin Fredriksson, Mattias Larsson, Rickard Göransson, Peter Svensson, and the list goes on and on. Most songs on this list had more than one Swede in the credits, not just one.

Swedish producers have pretty much created what we think of as pop since the early 2000s. For such a small country to be up there with UK and US is a great achievement.

Sweden is 2nd in the world when it comes to writing hit songs, only the USA is ahead and this means that Sweden has passed England in terms of writing hits. Sweden is the country in the world that has the most people who play music per population. Sweden and then the country in the world that has the most choirs in the world, in terms of population. Many more hits have been written by Swedes for foreign artists and what you don't find out is that even Celine Dion has several hits written by Swedes.

And this is just the pop category. And lets not forget Avicii and The swedish house maffia and of course we all know Abba and Roxette. Then we also have an endless list of metal and rock bands that are from sweden. Europe, Sabaton, The Haunted, Meshuggah, In flames, Avatar, Amaranthe, Evergrey to mention a few of them. So yes we know our music here in sweden.

This is pretty much how it's been in eurovision for the last two decades, if you look at the writers/singers/background dancers or who's behind the stage tech it's usually a Swede 😅

RedOne was born as Nadir Khayat in Tétouan, Morocco. In 1991, he immigrated to Sweden when he was 19, to pursue a career as a musician.

Max Martins real name is Martin Sandberg apparently. Someone mentioned that he's the definition of modesty or maybe it's just that Swedes value our personal lives SO MUCH (I have for example bumped into one of our biggest comedians and tv-personalities, Johan Glans, on the train in Stockholm and everyone just left him alone like a normal person x) ) so maybe that's the reason he took a pseudonym! The list of songs on his wikipage is long though, and it's stated that it's "just" a selected list. Very impressive!

Max Martin have had 25 Billboard top 100 number one songs and is the songwriter with the third most no. 1 singles on the chart only behind Paul McCartney and John Lennon to put his work in some perspective. Missing on this list in the video is also Christian Karlsson (Bloodshy) whom I knew in my early teens, and who later on produced songs for Britney Spears (among them Toxic, Britneys first song to reach 1 billion streams), Madonna, Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, Sugababes, Ms Dynamite and so on, I find it strange he didn't get any room at all really.

Carl Falk and Rami Yacoub is Swedish. They have also wrote songs with Avicii.

Sweden had a great songwriter and producer called Denniz Pop in the 1990s. He worked very closely with Max Martin and is regarded as one of the founders of the "Swedish Music Miracle". He was also the founder of _Cheiron Productions_ in Stockholm. In November 1997 he was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer and sadly passed away in August 1998 at the age of 35.

Sweden even writes kpop for Korea! Sweden earns good money on exports, writing music being one of those 😀

Sweden has a thing called "Det svenska popundret" (The Swedish pop wonder) which really started with ABBA and moved on to Per Gessle (Roxette), Dennis Pop to evidently be the "monster" that Ace of Base, Robyn, Max Martin and RedOne became. I think some small documentaries can be found here on the tube.

Netflix has a series called "This is pop" and in episode 3 named "Stockholm Syndrome". Not sure if it published more then in sweden but it's worth locking at to get a glimpse of the evolution of swedish producers.

Yes its more than those you thought where obviously Swedish (cause of the names) that where actually Swedish too. Who was listed under the songs...Many in Sweden offcourse don't have typical Swedish names. Even if they're whole lives been in Sweden. They may have other herretage... Shellback is Swedish for an example...

Pretty sure comments have named all the Swedes in this top 50 list. May I offer another little trivia just because? Andreas Carlsson and Alexander Kronlund have been on the jury for Swedish Idol over the years. I had no idea who they were before that but now I do. And if you don’t know it a lot of artists that were on Swedish Idol later went on to compete in Mello or Melodifestivalen; some of them won and went to Eurovision. One even won that. Twice. 🤔😁

Max Martin have 25 Billboard no1 as a songwriter and 23 as a pruducer, that put him at number 3 all time after John Lennon (26) and Paul McCartney (32) and tied for first as a pruducer with George Martin. I would say he is one of the least known but most important music pruducer in modern music.

Max Martin (Martin Sandberg) grown up in Färingsö (Ekerö kommun outside Stockholm). His mother Lillemor was my teacher in 4-6 grade.

On the 30 of august it been 25 years since Denniz POP past away. But his legacy lives on in the music of Max Martin, Andreas Carlsson, Kristian Lundin and the other producers of Cheiron.

If you are interested in Max Martin's singing, you could check out his old band "It's Alive" who were active during the mid 80s through mid-90s. :P And also... It isn't all too surprising that Sweden has spawned many singers and songwriters in the pop scene over the years since ABBA debuted. :)

This year Cyprus had a Swedish produced song for instance. In 2011 Azerbaijan won with a Swedish written song, and in 2016 almost 1/4 of the songs had at least one Swedish songwriter.
