Thank you for the shout out mate. I appreciate your confidence in me, lol Even though there's no footage of Lee Duffy, he's built up a massive reputation from word of mouth. At the end of the day we're all beatable on any given day, nobody is unbeatable. Catch up soon mate 🥊👊
That list alone is enough to stop an invasion of a country. All great , known 2 over the years you mentioned, not naming but great memories made, first class professional lads. Loved seeing this
@@JonnyWilkinson-yh3ct maybe but most the time men who get a reputation it’s because they are tried and tested N have a talent for it there’s no way of knowing if your any good at fighting until you do it there isn’t a hard man out there though who carnt get knocked out so when people say they are undefeated they haven’t had enough tough fights that’s how I see it
Great video! Agree with you on Brian Cockerill, that he was a real force in his day and could definitely hold his own. Also agree that Lee Chapman might’ve been a bit too much for him, however - another scary man but seems a gent, too. Look forward to part 2 👍
Ian Freeman of Sunderland. I’ve read his book as well. Ian Freeman went into the UFC and was the first British person to do so. He also beat Frank Mir. Very hard man from what he has achieved.
Was there when Ian freeman beat him..think it was royal Albert hall. Not to sure. But lee Murray done tito Ortiz outside China white that night. Was about 2002 or thereabouts
I always enjoy these kind of videos with many names of my youth, but the best bits are the comments. Stories of myth urban legend and a fair bit of poetic license, always entertaining stuff. Lookin forward to part 2 😊
Lee Duffy was a once in a lifetime hard man, so they say, he come to Newcastle twice to challenge Viv Graham who wanted nothing of it. If Matt Legg beats him Matt Legg must be a machine. Like you said hard to call but for me, Duffy beats leg.
Richie Horsley is missing from this list Brian Cockerill would have been a handful for anybody back then , ruthless , huge , would fight extremely dirty , do whatever to win. Tony Tucker is laughable , who did he ever fight ? Unless it was three handed and he was full of crack. One of the biggest bullies on the list that got what was coming to him. Pat Tate would have flattened Tony Tucker with his hands tied and eyes closed. Lee Duffy wouldnt have backed down from anybody on that list. He was a trained boxer and did work on the doors , he was scared of no man
There's a part 2 as explained in the video. Many people slag tucker off cus they watch to much rofs. He was dangerous. As I said in the video not best fighter but was no mug
@enquirer2.0 I dunno like, I've seen a few videos where his friends have talked about him getting a good hiding. Legged it when Nipper stood up to him after his drugged up bully tactics pushed him too far. Good video mate
I was in jail with the lad who pored petrol over Duffy and he's hilarious I have to say. When Duffy was going round the bars looking for him he'd go in 20 mins later asking where's Duffy, doing it to wind him up. And he's only a small skinny guy. It was the way he was telling it to me, I was in stitches man. Funny lad and I thought was canny craic.
Viv was on the verge of being a pro boxer, he was amateur at the highest of level. Me and my best mate was trained by the same trainer. And we knock people out with one punch..
@@nickgodfrey1148 hi nick coz it was a set up viv got him on a pressure point and told stew he didn’t want to hit him but everyone has there own opinion have a nice day 🙏
I've read and heard too many things from people that know the facts to disregard big Bri from any convo about who the best fighters are / were. Drug abuse changes people, I think about fighters at their absolute peak for things like this.
Let's not forget he was killed at 26, spent most of his adult life behind bars and still had such a big reputation. For me the most badass top lad from the northeast
@@enquirer2.0 the comparison's from different places is a great idea lad like different people with similar crimes to see who would be top dog of that particular crime would be a good 1 or something along them lines pal
Im going for Viv. He was an outstanding boxer he could of turned pro...very fast, as strong as a ox, heavy handed and was able to end a fight fast. So big he bacame a major headache for a Newcastle crime family who had him shot dead. That business with Lee Duffy coming up to Newcastle to have it out with Viv...no one ever came forward to say it was true in any books or podcast all these doorman Lee was supposed to knockout surely one of them would tell all. The only people that witnessed it all was a certain Newcastle family and a good friend of a nonce. Lee would of known where Viv trained and that would of been a perfect opportunity for Lee to fight Viv.
I've seen an interview with the bloke who took Lee up to Newcastle in a car and witnessed him knocking out the bouncers. It's Paul Venis farther in law can't remember his name now
Evening mate. I think different times but nowadays there's more mma and more young lads who train etc rather than drink but don't think they make the real men of granite of yesterday year
it gets me how you can have a few picked out and call them deadliest doorman ,their are hundreds out here who have kept a low profile for obviouse reasons ,people like you are just trying too get veiws sad
Robinson was a very tough guy who had a huge advantage with amateur wrestling and submissions, I'm sure him and Peter Maivia who he famously got into It with would take everyone on this list with the biggest threats to them being Matt Legg and Lee Chapman. Billy Robinson did actually get beaten up pretty badly by Canadian wrestler Ed Sailor White in the 80's, Sailor White was a nasty man who was an ex bouncer.
One of the most frightening people, I've ever known of,was,a black guy that use too walk with a walking stick, inside the walking stick was a sword,he use too put the fear of God into people like this, and the people he worked for,use to get people like this to do things for them
When did the North East last produce a World Title Boxer 🥊??? All you hear them go on about is Lee Fkin Duffy a 7 foot Bully hitting people who've been on the ale all the day Turn it in you all owe the lad who done him a bevy 😂
Our billy had mates who could do this and that just like lots of others as you know ben , but being honest you wouldnt want to cross matt not a bully ,calm and if has a problem with you he wont want anyone else to know but he will deffo catch up with you . And before people start im not blowing smoke up his arse but like you ive been round people who are capable of anything and matt is up there without a doubt .
