We had a lot of help from our friends to get this far. The Uk and Canada were some of our best Allies throughout the world wars. During the Cold War we made “unlikely alliances” with different countries (some even that we were previously at war with) such as Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Japan, the Philippines (who was a previous colony of ours and now one of our most trusted friends), South Korea, Brazil, and many others. Surprising you could say our best friend had been Morocco as they were the first country to recognize our independence (even before France or Spain) and threw their support behind us during the Cold War and were also one of the only Islamic countries to actively speak out against the 9/11 attacks and support us and our combat allies with military bases and intelligence on the various terrorist groups. Our treaty of friendship with Morocco hasn’t been broken in 2 and a half centuries. While our military power is what gives us strength I’d say it’s our allies that have truly given us our status. All my family members I know would 100% be willing to back the British in a war 🇺🇸+🇬🇧=❤️

There were metallurgists machinists explosive experts and many other specialties required to make the project successful. One thing you're forgetting about drones is that they can outfly any pilot. They are capable of performing maneuvers that would render a pilot unconscious because of high G-forces.
@waltergraves3273
@waltergraves3273 Год назад
I don’t think anyone is forgetting that. However, drones have an Achilles heel-they require communication with their pilot. Should an opponent deploy the appropriate jamming equipment the drone is useless. For that reason they have to be programmed to simply return home if they lose comm. A drone without comm that continues on is nothing more than a small cruise missile at best.
@Tam58851520
@Tam58851520 Год назад
@@waltergraves3273I don't see it as an Achilles. They can also be programed to complete a specific mission and then return home. That gives the people at DARPA another project. Given how heavily the military is invested in drone tech, I'd say they have solution/solutions to jamming.
@royhorn2782
@royhorn2782 Год назад
All I see is with drones we are getting to the point where war is becoming too sanitary. The first hand and personal experience of killing people and seeing your brothers in arms killed next to you is what makes war so horrible and something to be avoided. By dehumanizing war, that sheer horror is taken away. It not only makes your enemies less human but it makes you less human as well. War is not a video game to be played behind a desk. We are removing compassion towards others more every year by making people just another thing to be killed on a monitor.
@Tam58851520
@Tam58851520 Год назад
@@royhorn2782 I appreciate your feelings, and thank you for your service, but feel different when the drone is an aircraft. I see little difference in the pilot's experience, with the large exception that they're not in harms way. Like all aircraft they are a tool and won't replace boots on the ground, but do offer great support for them. Most of the other drones I've seen are to offer support, like carrying ammo or the smaller eyes in the sky.
@aggilos9650
@aggilos9650 Год назад
It is an Achilles because as technology evolves signal lag, jamming, even hacking means a manned jet that can have its system shutdown and flown by pilot or rebooted by pilot is more adaptable then a tin can that can be jammed to not see a target or hacked and used against forces.

Since WW2 American defense policy has been to have the ability to fight the 2 strongest non American militaries simultaneously.
@waltergraves3273
@waltergraves3273 Год назад
American military strategy has constantly changed and evolved. We have had a strategy as you have opined above. We have also had one to decisively fight one while holding the other at bay. We have had strategies based on sizing forces based on threats (Cold War strategic thinking). We have had strategies based on sizing forces based on desired capabilities such as ability to fight two opponents (post Cold War strategic thought mostly driven by budgetary limitations). However military strategy is only one element of national defense strategy. The others are economic power and political power. Military power is really the one you use when the other two are not effective in achieving you political objective.

At 4:06 is the CIWS (pronounced see-whiz) or Close-In Weapon System. Sometimes referred to as the Phalanx or Goalkeeper, this is actually a semi-autonomous defensive gun. It has a radar system that it uses to track incoming ordinance like torpedos, cruise missiles, artillery shells and even 60mm mortal shells. Then, it self targets the incoming ordinance and fires automatically to detonate it out of range, damage it so it doesn't go off, or knock it off course. One of the most haunting sounds you'll hear is the PA system alert tone on a base, which features a klaxon and a computer voice repeating "Incoming! Incoming! Incoming!" over and over and the these weapon systems open fire to defense the base. Here's an example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KsVUISS8oHs.html

The history of the development of stealth tech is interesting. In a nutshell an engineer at Lockheed-Martin Skunk Works was reading through a pile of math papers when he came across a paper by a Russian mathematician that laid down the basic math for the possibility of reducing radar cross sections to avoid a proper reading. Yes a Russian mathematician had the ordinal idea but nobody realized what they had. The Skunk Works guy spent the weekend running a series of calculation and came in Monday and told his bosses I think we can hide planes from radar. 18 months later the first of the "have blue" birds made the first flight, at Groom lake, a.k.a. Dreamland, a.k.a Area 51, and its radar cross section was that of like a very large ball bearing. They refined it from there. Now its the size of a bee.

Here's the thing about Precision Munitions. They are hideously expensive, but if you think of the example of the WW2 bomber sortees, the narrator was not entirely truthful. It's true that the bombs missed their targets more often than not, but they didn't "hit nothing". There is a little thing called "collateral damage", and it usually involves civilians. While the US did not deliberately target civilians like Hitler did during the London bombing raids, the total capacity of the US raids was such that Berlin looked like London after the war. Spending money on Precision Munitions tries to avoid all that.
@DerrelliThePyro
@DerrelliThePyro Год назад
Say rather it was not official U.S. policy to deliberately target civilians. We did so, nonetheless. All warring parties in WW2 did. When we firebombed Tokyo, there was little military advantage. The whole point of those raids was to try to get Japan to surrender, and incendiaries were deemed highly useful for that purpose because they were cheap and most civilian Japanese housing at the time was all wood and not very sturdy. The official target may have been one thing, but the real purpose was targeting civilians. The same is doubly true of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Yes, there were military facilities present... on the outskirts of those cities. The bombs were targeted on the city center itself. (And for the record, Nagasaki was technically a miss, off target by several miles.) Even then, the casualties from the two nuke strikes were individually less then Tokyo, even factoring the delayed deaths due to radiation poisoning and other such nasty aftereffects. However, given the estimated losses if the Allies would have had to invade Japan (estimated around a million Allies dead on initial landing, and likely half of the Japanese population dead by the time the campaign would be finished), the decisions were made to go ahead with these attacks, for it would cost far less in lives than the alternative. I, for one, wouldn't have wanted to have to make that choice.
@waltergraves3273
@waltergraves3273 Год назад
I wish I could say we did not target civilians during WWII, but it would not be accurate. Although we have tried to distance ourselves from it, we did participate with the UK in the fire bombing of Dresden. We also firebombed several cities in Japan killing more civilians in those raids than with the atomic bombs. The fire bombing especially in Japan was specifically aimed at residential areas where homes were built of stick and paper.

It seems you're confusing "fatalities" and "casualties." The total of casualties includes dead, wounded, missing, captured, and sick. The U.S. had more than 58,000 killed in Vietnam and about 300,000 wounded. The total casualties for both sides at Gettysburg are believed to be about 51,000, although I read somewhere that new research suggests even more.

The Navy will buy another 6th gen manned fighter. But it will work with several unmanned drones.

The NGAD is rumored to be capable of flying manned and unmanned. We’ll have to wait and see if that’s true or not. The US and it’s Allies are working on UAV’s that fly in tandem and are controlled by other aircraft. They will work in conjunction with F35’s and 6th Gen planes. Data linking is the big thing presently for aircraft. Most of the US fleet of aircraft can share data with each other. The F35 was designed to be a QB of the airspace and direct other fighters like an AWAC’s does. The F35’s avionics are so advanced that it is even supposed to be able to provide targeting data for missiles on other planes like the F15 and even fire their missiles for them if they are unable to target lock them.

You guys should check out Ward Carol's channel. He is a retired Navy F-14 RIO (radar intercept officer), The guy that sits in the back of an F-14 doing all the work with the missiles and weaponry and radar while the pilot sits up front and flies and pulls the trigger. His channel is fantastic about all the knowledge you might want to know about the military the past and the present. He's an author of books on the subject. And as far as turning to drones instead of piloted aircraft, he's got many videos on that topic that go into depth of the possibilities and the pluses and minuses and everything else from the actual military's point of view. Before he retired besides flying in F-14s, He worked on the admiral's staff, so he's got a lot of the inside scoop and knowledge of things beyond that of just air crew. Please check out some of his videos. If not for us, at least for yourselves.

One of the biggest reasons to go pilot less is the maneuverability of a remote fighter. No longer would G-forces come into play on a pilot, allowing tighter turns at higher speeds.

Arguably in 1865 the Union Army was probably the most powerful land force in the world. Certainly the best equipped and with recent combat experience. Our British brothers and sisters supplied key research on radar reflectivity and low-observable materials, that were incorporated into the F-117. It was such a key contribution that Reagan offered the aircraft to the RAF, in thanks.

The Manhattan project merged with the British program tube alloys to produce the atomic bomb. The British program would have moved slower due to their industry already being maxed out. America alone had enough surplus industrial capacity to build facilities that produced the bomb.

What so many people forget is. We are only as powerful as our allies are. Some people will say no that's not it bit sorry as a marine I know our allies are the most important weapon we have. Yes we bring all the might to the war but our allies keep us powerful. And we don't like bullies and we will defend our allies with our lives.

What really makes our military so deadly is not all the tech or numbers of equipment. It is a fact that our service members are so well trained, supported, and dedicated. we also make sure our men and women are well-supplied and fed. All things you do not see with lets say, the Russian military.

Im glad were well protected in the US, but im also glad were not a country (such as current Russia) that just goes out looking to take over and start a fight. Many times weve fought for other countries and there are those in the world that want to take our freedom away - and freedom can be very hard to hang onto unless you have the ability to defend it. So again im glad were well protected but not outright bullies like Russia or others rattling their sabred right now. We dont pick a fight for not reason but we can finish it if called on to do so.

I’m not sure if you guys would be interested in reacting to this, you did react to the blue angels so you might but I feel that you guys might want to look at the tragic accident that happened in Texas where a b-17 named “Texas raiders” and a p-63 air cobra collided in mid air and crashed. It’s a shame that no one onboard survived and a blow to lose such beautiful pieces of history but I thought you would like to know about it and maybe react to the theory behind the crash

As a military video we all know they aren't going to reveal ALL of their fire power........these planes and drones can do so much damage I dare say that the weaponry they don't reveal is horrendously destructive which is sad in some ways. Interesting video.

Everyone should hear a minigun fire in real life if they have the opportunity. Movies don't do it justice. It actually pounds your chest. Closest thing to it is maybe a fast drummer at a big rock concert. But even that isn't really close.
