Will they ever come and play Nashville? I hope so; they are absolutely amazing. Would make a huge splash as an opening act for Journey, Bon Jovi, Areosmith, etc.. Think of the exposure.
These kids are one of the best things to happen to Rock & Roll in decades!! Another truly inspiring breath of fresh air is the Warning!! I'm glad you mentioned them, they along with Liliac are the absolute shining stars of music!!!

Just saw this band last night in Fort Worth, TX and they were amazing. It was an incredible feeling being able to see live music again after a year of lockdowns. The set list was a real crowd pleaser. They performed their original music plus some Ozzy, Dio, and Metallica. It was a night I’ll never forget.
Their father's holler out of pride at the beginning gave me chills because you know, just know that he is proud as hell at that moment like never before.
Ronnie James Dio had IMO the most powerful voice in heavy metal--and this girl can actually hold her own on this Dio song. Impressive. Family bands are always gimmicky, but this family band have serious talent and play as a tight unit.
2 of my favorite bands in the last 4 years are The Warning and Liliac both groups are very talented young musicians . I would love to see both of them live soon . I am a Patreon for both of these groups. The Main stream music biz sucks right now. Its all manufactured autotuned crap. Both the warning and Liliac are old school hard rock.
Dude! Your so right-on about the need for playing live. Back in the 60's and 70's we saw a lot of music on TV. I'm also grateful for the diversity of AM radio at the time.
Hey, Wings of Pegasus, we've traded comments before on RU-vid. I can't believe I just discovered Liliac today. I did a little research and discovered they spent years basically busking on the Santa Monica Pier. Dangit, who knew? I used to hang out at the Santa Monica Pier listening to music at Santa Monica's Thursday night Summer Twilight Concert Series 30-34 years ago! CAN THESE KIDS ROCK, OR WHAT??
Been following these kids for a while now. They absolutely Kick ASS. Melody the singer has a freaking killer voice. Just love to hear her sing. Their song "Chain of Thorns" is amazing. Love that song. These kids are a absolute "Breath of fresh air". The rock world needs "LILIAC". They are the real deal.

Once again you are spot on! Liliac is from the Los Angeles area as am I. I’ve seen them perform live one warm sunny day on the Santa Monica pier at Santa Monica beach in California. I couldn’t believe they were actually there playing. I can tell you this for sure....they are a tight hard rock band that performs best live. And, to talk with them in person they are funny, friendly and gracious as can be and truly appreciate their fans.
love this band and family. I recently saw them on tour at a little out of the way place and felt like I was at a stadium concert. They rock! See them if you can its worth it
I never heard of them until I went on the Kiss Kruise where they were one of the other bands invited.. they blew me and my family away! I think they were one of the best bands on the ship! Instant Fan!
I don’t know what this is about. but I will say one thing that Liliac is known even in Russia. This is a quality cover, this is quality rock. American rock culture is unique and very much appreciated in Russia. This is power !! This is drive and professionalism !!
i Have been keeping up with this band ,i am a fan ,Melody;s voice blows me away ,i love that Grit in her voice ,so much talent at this age can you imagine in just a few years ,love Melody singing heaven and hell ,she said Dio is the one she adores and loves him,so much talent ,so glad you posted this future greatness of a band ,i am going watch for them.
I'm really glad to see you react to Liliac. I love these kids, I was watching their shows on the Santa Monica Pier the past couple years. These kids really deserve to be out there for all to see and hear.

Amazing kids I have been following them since they were very young and a lot of people don't know but the dad was a singer as well and was very good and he passed the torch to his children . .
You can find lots of Liliac on youtube playing live shows on a pier in California, doing cover music videos in a studio, and even rehearsal videos where they are working out an arrangement.
me and my son fell in love with them, we bought their albums Chain Of Thorns and Covers Vol 2. Both are TIGHT and rock solid. They are a magnificent find. And Liliac and LoveBites (bought all 3 of their albums as well) are my 2 best finds in the last 10 years...my metal bones are SOOO happy lately.
Very cool Fil I've got two son's myself . One 25 , and his step brother 35 . My youngest a guitar player like me,and my older a speedmetal drummer" not always w/ speed . We have a blast jamming. It's been an awesome part of our lives and great connection for us as a family. As matter of fact it's kept us all out of trouble more than once. I know a lot of you out there have kid's that are pounding away" and it can get rough" ,my hat is off to you " if you jam or not" for supporting kids music. Fil, you are so right when you talk about listening to music live. It is such a fantastic experience to see the artist perform...something you will never forget!!! A very talented group at such a young age.
Liliac and The Warning were at NAMM in Anaheim California this past January. I’m surprised they didn’t run into each other. 😁 Liliac actually performed at NAMM. 🤘🏼
They actually did! But before the NAMM show, at a cookout hosted by a big TW fan in Claremont at his home. And Liliac was supposed to have come to the Whisky show but for whatever reason, scheduling didn't allow it. They are big fans of TW and vice versa. It's pretty cool to see the grass roots bands lifting each other up.
There were a pic from NAMM with The Warning together with two of the girls from Good Boy Daisy. Thats another youngster rock band, formed and lead by the twin sisters Hallie and Dylinn. Networking backstage are an very importent part if you wanna make it in music business. 👍
@@westmus Was that this most recent NAMM show or the year before? I know the ladies had other stuff going on and don't remember them making it down to Anaheim this year. Maybe they did make an appearance and just missed it but I thought they were in LA the whole time. But I know they were at NAMM the year before. Hadn't heard of Good Boy Daisy so I'll have to check them out, thanks!

I just found Liliac this weekend and I've watched every video of theirs. Absolutely amazing! Bringing back Rock n roll. They are spectacular musicians amazing guitar and drums and singing wow!! New fan here!
Love this band of young upstarts! Relentless hard working band with seriously talented parts that meld together beautifully. Obviously Samuel (guitar) and Melody (vocals/bass) stand out but I'm glad to hear you mention how tight they are, which speaks to the talent they have throughout the band. @@pennsyltuckyden9823 I didn't include them since they've already "hit it big" and been accepted into the "mainstream" music scene. Plus, Fil has an entire video on them as well. I was just citing some other very young bands who hopefully will catch fire in the next year or so, whatever that means in today's music industry. Cheers! :-)
Totally agree with you, it' not too long ago there was no future for rock n roll, but now with these new young bands getting recognition on youtube and other social media, bypassing conventional record labels and management, there is good reason to be hopeful.
I am very pleased to have come across this review of yours, good sir. That's because I trust and respect your judgement and for a while I have thought that Liliac, especially Melody, are something quite special in this day and age, so it is good to hear your point of view.
You nailed it big time. Exactly what I thought when it was aired live watching the band. The thing about them is that they put so much energy into the looks & movement. They just need time & perfection and tighter then after signing a big contract then do whatever they want. They’ve got the potential but need time. Yes on bringing back pure no computerized adding at all. Zero. Just the instruments and the voices. It is lost in today’s world for sure. It makes things too easy when we as the listeners and buyers of music that are old school. For me it was the 70’s & early 80’s. Then in the late 80’s & 90’s it started going down hill. Real Music played by talented artist is what I want to listen to.
Exciting band that I have been watching on RU-vid for the last 5-6 months. This was a real watered down performance because of the show. They do have a full length video doing this song as a video and also performing live on the Santa Monica Pier on their channel. They also do awesome versions The Trooper and Enter Sandman on the pier. Talented young band deserving of widespread attention. Thanks for promoting them and the channels of the bands.
No problem! I'm pretty sure on the pier it's pre-recorded audio placed on the video, it's why I wanted to do a live video to save the 'this is pre-recorded' comments!
They have gotten better and have really branched out from doing covers to their own original music. Check out their Video "Nothing" filmed in their home during the lockdown and the ballad "Sail Away" from their latest self produced album "Queen of Hearts" I'd love to see your reaction to those. This was a great review of Liliac and I love the ones you did of The Warning, both these groups give me real hope that Rock will live on and actually get better.

Me too! I got the excellent Holy Diver in 1983 after hearing the title track on the radio show Metalshop (the only show with teeth ...!). I'm also 50, and it is great to see young people getting into this album and keeping metal alive!

I totally agree with what you are saying. I watched The Midnight Special in the '70s and really enjoyed what they put out. I wish they had stuff like on today. I don't think it will happen anytime soon.
Loved your rant about live playing and independent bands. This is what music needs. I support Liliac and The Warning. I was watching Liliac’s live stream on RU-vid the other day and that show came up and I don’t think they were thrilled with the experience for the reasons you mentioned. The father was a pop singer from the 80s. They showed a clip of him in one of there videos on their channel. The band in awesome. They stick to it , they'll go places. Their album is really good. You won't be disappointed if you buy it. Great insight in this review
Great comments Fil, totally agree with you! Dennis here again. What got me to LILIAC in the first place was there live performances on the Santa Monica pier. They were just doing covers, but I thought to myself that I could see " somethings " in these kids that was " different " from other cover bands that I liked. And about 8 months later they came out with their own music. I actually thought,for a group of kids that they played really tight,which was one of the reasons that I had asked you to at least give them a look. It sounds like I wasn't the only one to suggest them and that's even better !

When I hear melody it honestly floors me...I hear lizzy hale and the lead of "In this Moment"...so powerful it's like it's two voices at the same time...you hear the sharpness of her voice but there's a background roar in her voice....
You are so right about live performances. I am so glad that I was a teenager in the 70s. I attended so many live performance concerts and they were awesome. Back then, one of the best concerts I attended was KISS.
I watched them cover other songs and not being a musician, I wondered if it was real. The lead singer doing Enter Sandman I couldn't believe it. So thanks Fil, and good on Liliac!

@@johnnymurray5383 I guess everyone has a right to their point of view. Personally I wish the silly animosity between fans didn’t exist, but it is what it is. I’m a massive fan of The Warning and I always will be, but I wish Liliac well. There’s room in music for everyone.
I've been following them on RU-vid for about a year now when I first saw their Enter Sandman cover video. Their parents are real supportive of what their kids do and I love it! Yeah, there's been family bands before, but none that ROCK the way they do!
Fil, great analysis as always from you. Liliac are one of my favourite bands, I love their debut album Chain Of Thorns and some of their covers like this are phenomenal, although as you said this particular performance was cut short of it's potential so that the judges could put themselves in the spotlight rather than focusing on the only reason I watched the show which was to support the acts.
Agreed! I've been following them for several months now and their new album is shockingly good. I thought "family" bands were supposed to be bad, but Liliac is different.
