The 2022 BIKC National Final was another very well run event from James Hislop and the team. The kart parity was very good, it was possible to do well in every kart. I came 1st the night before in both my practice sessions, followed by 1st in Quali, Heat 1, 2, Semi Final & the Final, all in different karts. I also got the fastest lap of the entire event including the Juniors and other adult categories. It was a very successful event from a results perspective, and for that I am very grateful. I always enjoy Warrington, the track is right up my street in terms of its complexity and varying surfaces, shame it's so far away as I only ever get to race it for BIKC.
I am grateful to get 3 BIKC titles in a row, they've all involved tight battles in the final. 4 TeamSport titles in a row if you include KartChamps 2019!
The grand final race was always going to be tough with Ben being assigned Kart 13, the one to have out of them all, with my kart (Kart 28) not really having any good results, it was difficult to gauge where it was. Do not let the TeamSport suit and box helmet confuse you, Ben (who came 2nd) drove fantastically, the track clearly suits him, and I enjoyed our battle. Luke Evans did brilliantly to complete the podium, and congrats to all the other entrants for making it another great event.
The single lap race for the title was interesting...
It is highly unlikely that I'll be entering BIKC 2023 due to an event clash with Club100, but I wish all drivers the best in the event, and maybe I'll see you some time again in the future.
