Fyi: In American English, homely means ugly. In American English, you should use the word "homey" to say something is warm and cozy.

I wont say that its standard to have the microwave above the stove, but its extremely common... especially in newer homes

That's the standard in a vast amount of American households to have the microwave at the top. It gives you more counter space.

The laundry room you called storage. You can't really put a.wsher and dryer in your kitchen because it creates a haz mat condition so its in another room

He fails to mention the property taxes and since this is a new build in a new development, what the monthly HOA fees are. Those two things can take a home to unaffordable very quickly. 25 minutes to shopping and restaurants is a bit too out in the sticks for me. Unless you're working remotely, there are not going to be many jobs paying a high enough wage within an hour's commute to afford that development.

This is not necessarily normal for a large portion of the usa. Depending on where you are it could be different all over America. Whether you live small or large THE HEART OF THE HOME IS LOVE . IF YOU ARE MISERABLE IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE. I actually would like to live in England in a rustic cottage....😮

Most were built long before indoor closets were used in England. A wardrobe was used and taken with you when you moved.

Affordable? Not to most people working for hourly wage. This is priced at the upper end of the middle class, not for people earning ''$20 an hour or less. It's a lovely home, with plenty of convenient features and a big yard.
