British Supersonic Prototype & Development Fast Jets at the RAF Museum, Cosford.
• English Electric P.1A (WG760) single-seat supersonic research aircraft and first prototype of the English Electric Lightning supersonic cold war jet fighter.
• English Electric Lightning F1 (XG337) pre-production supersonic cold war jet fighter.
• Bristol 188 (XF926) stainless steel supersonic research aircraft built by the Bristol Aeroplane Company.
• Fairey Delta 2 (FD2) (WG777) supersonic delta winged research aircraft produced by the Fairey Aviation Company. The Fairey Delta 2 was used to investigate flight and control at transonic and supersonic speeds. On 10 March 1956 the Fairey Delta 2 flown by test pilot Peter Twiss was the first aircraft to exceed 1000 mph. Taking the World Air Speed Record up to 1,132 mph, the Fairey Delta 2 held the record for over a year.
• BAC TSR-2 (XR220) prototype supersonic strike and reconnaissance jet aircraft. TSR-2 was developed by British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) for the Royal Air Force. The TSR-2 project was cancelled in 1965.
• Sepecat Jaguar (XX765) development aircraft for "Active Control Technology" research which incorporated "fly-by-wire" technology.
• Saunders-Roe SR.53 ( XD145) was a experimental prototype interceptor aircraft with mixed jet and rocket propulsion developed by Saunders-Roe for the Royal Air Force.
