So guys we are back with another Family of Brits try vlog. In this vlog it's Brits try American Barbecue for the first time. The Monago Family love food so we are always happy to try new food participate in an American Barbecue Mukbang and share our reaction with you guys. One of the things we are really enjoying about moving to Dubai from the UK and living in Dubai is the amount of food choices that are available here and we are be glad to be sharing this food journey with you. As a Texan (Galveston) I love seeing your beautiful family trying it! You know what this means though. Now, you can't go back. You either need to learn how to make it at home because it's ruinously expensive at a take away or move to Houston! One taste and you're hooked. Thanks for another great video. Your children are soooo cute. And such good manners. It's hard to be still and wait when you're little like that. Bless their hearts, they are adorable.

The funny thing about bbq when it comes to living in Houston is that, we see barbecuing as an option. If you own a smoker like myself, the thought to bbq crosses the mind as just a natural occurrence. Then there are the bbq restaurants, when you just have a taste for bbq, and you're like, "I'm going to run down the street and get a plate of bbq. It's something that I see we take for granted as opposed to those that don't have it just around the corner. Much less, have the option of just doing it yourself.@@themonagofamily

Seems to be more like INSPIRED by american food, but still nothing wrong there! A lot of people are opening restaurants based off of the BBQ style, soul foods and such. I enjoy seeing people try the foods, whether they like it or not it still shows their willingness to keep an open mind and try new things. I am a new subscriber and look forward to watching more!

I love how your youngest is open to trying new types of food. My parents kinda forced me to open my horizons at a young age and wouldn't just feed me basic-ass food. As an adult, I appreciate it now because I'm willing to try anything. You two seem to have a really great family and are good parents :)

Basic-ass food? If you didn't eat what was put in front of you at dinner time, when I was growing up, you had2 choices. Go to bed hungry or get it served cold the next morning to you for breakfast. And I quote "Do you know how many starving children in the world would love to be able to eat that"?

Yank over here.. this is a cool video. Many Americans LOVE raw mushrooms. Me included, yum! Also haven't seen much grilled lamb shanks in the US. Maybe more popular in this style in other parts of the world. Never heard of a chicken biscuit. Now only if you had some baby back ribs, and pulled pork, OMG.. (I do realize that you may have some restricts in Dubai, so I don't mean to be insensitive)

Beautiful family. We come from a family of five children one boy and four girls and when we were young I don’t think we would’ve been as adventurous as your girls to try new foods. We’re all in our 60s today and my youngest sister is still the pickiest one in the group. Thank you for sharing.

Aw I love your family! The girls are so sweet haha and entertaining 😊NC- US here, love some BBQ! Ours here in Western NC stands up to TX, I think humbly❤ Bummer on the brisket you tried! I could tell it wasn't the greatest run. Mama was right, most times here in US, if its done right, brisket takes the cake! Ribs too. Loved this VLOG!

American BBQ is different across America. Each state has its own twist pending on seasonings, BBQ sauce or no sauce, the type of grill, and the type wood used. In my opinion, South Texas BBQ with mesquite or hickory wood is the best.

Meh. Texas can make brisket. I’d put eastern North Carolina whole hog up against anything Texas can produce. Same for Memphis ribs, they stand on their own with no need for sauce. KC runs a close second to Texas in the “we can do one thing well” department…they just have a sauce as their claim to fame. And we won’t even mention the unholy crime against humanity that is white sauce from Alabama.

Whats crazy is here in Dallas I got 5-6 top 50 BBQ spots 10-15min away. I take it for granted because I smoke brisket, ribs and sausage almost every weekend. Great to see y’all like it as much as we do.

watched a few of your videos, i absolutely love your beautiful family! im sure it may be hard to get sent to you, but you should really look into carolina bbq, its a different world than the rest of the planet when it comes to bbq, we just do it better! but just know eastern carolina and western carolina have a beef (no pun intended) going with each other so might want to get it from both sides of the state..... but you cant go wrong with either side of north carolina bbq. just subscribed! the monago family ayeeeeeeee

The coleslaw is a side but also traditionally part of a pulled pork sandwich.. whole pig roasted for hours or baked for hours in a ground pit wrapped in banana leaves.. the sandwich is pulled pork, round roll, BBQ sauce & coleslaw

I’m pretty sure that was just chicken gravy . You make a roux . A little fat either chicken or butter and a tablespoon of flour or you can make a slurry (sp?) with equal parts cold water and corn starch . Mix the chunks out with a whisk. Then in a small saucepan heat chicken broth or better yet drippings and mix in , bring to a simmer and let it thicken , you have to cook out the flour taste . Just like turkey gravy . Easy .

American BBq originated in the south of the states when slave owners would give their slaves the hard cuts of meet and in turn they would bbq (slowly cooking the meat in low temps over long periods of time to render down the meat)

The way you were pulling the chicken meat off the bone is the way they pull the pork off the whole pig. So you could have a pulled chicken sandwich as well.

I lived in Texas for 35 years and have eaten at many BBQ restaurants... never seen lamb on a menu.

Just found your channel, subscribed.😊 That mac and cheese is a disgrace to the American bbq standard. Just sooo not right. PS - I'd love to have bbq lamb here, but it just isn't a thing.

That’s a question you have to answer, not really one for us to answer whether it is authentic or not. We enjoyed eating the food and making the vlog though and nice to know that there are a lot of people who enjoyed watching it.
