It's been nearly 20 years since Brock Lesnar debuted on WWE television. Lesnar was the talk of the town on RSPW at the time, including fans who had seen him wrestling dark matches before he ever appeared on TV who were singing his praises, while others grew a bit sick of the hype around Lesnar. Solomonster recounts this, and other assorted threads at the time, including one bemoaning the fact that fans seemed to boo whoever the most popular star was just because they were popular. Brock is a guy who tried to wear too many hats. he's one of the most elite athletes of all time. If he had jumped into MMA right after college he would have been one of the best ever. If he had stuck to WWE post 2004 he would have been one of the best ever. He was great when he came back but athletically he was no where near as good as a decade before. No one was ever as good as he was back then. If he had never wrestled in high school and focused on football he could have been elite at that too. His NFL combine scores when he was pushing 30 years old were some of the best ever. He's rich though in spite of never really excelling at any of these things long term.

People are fooled by his past few years but Brock can still go have a 5 star match if he wants he just never wants too. When he is motivated Brock is one of the top 7 wrestlers on the planet he is just hardly ever that motivated

That's my biggest problem with Brock, he's lazy but he is one of WWE's best workers when he's motivated. I can't blame him for not wanting to do much, he some how inked a lucrative deal with WWE by doing the bare minimum and being pretty much the only legitimate draw WWE has right now. You'd be a fool not to take advantage of the pull you have like Lesnar has.

Lol no. All of Brocks great or even good matches involved other GREAT wrestlers. I’m not saying he got carried, but a truly great wrestler has good matches more often than not. Brock had good matches against Kurt Anglr

Brock Lesnar overness is strictly tied to the fact that he appears so rarely on WWE shows, therefore he can keep a certain mystique around him (thanks to Heyman promos too) that otherwise he wouldn't have because the writers are not nearly as talented as the performers
