Broken Airstream Part 2

Every day, every week and every month and year has a low point. When things are going really well, you may not even notice the low point. When things are going poorly, you definitely notice the sift from bad to worse.
We had to keep moving east as we looked for a solution for our repairs and it was frustrating to not have a plan. It is definitely harder to keep your eye on the ball when you are injured and exhausted but we really can’t complain considering we just wrapped up 90 days RVing through the summer of a lifetime!
If you are new to RVing it is important to know to shop for the manufacturer you want and not any specific dealer. RV dealerships excel at sales and quickly go downhill once you pull off the lot.
Several dealerships recommended an insurance claim. It is this very behavior that has made insurance so expensive for everyone.
Airstream immediately stepped up, worked us in and went over the top and exceeded our expectations by miles! We could not have even hoped for the level of service we received and got our Airstream back BETTER than when we first got it!

If you guys can make it through that, with that much grace, you can make it through anything! Sorry for your back injury, Jim-I’ve been there! This was a hysterical video! 😂

We are sooooo glad that Airstream agreed to make it right!! We are about to pick up our very first RV (an Airstream) so that fills us with confidence that we made the right decision. The fact that you guys keep such a positive attitude through all the dips in the road is truly commendable. We hope to see y’all on the road someday. We are fellow North Carolinians. 😊

That was a freak damage. We’ve never seen that damage on an Airstream before. Best wishes on the fix.

Glad AS stepped up. Just a suggestion. I always connect the water pressure regulator on the spicket, then the water filter, then the hose to the city water connection on the rig. That filter has too much weight on the connection even with the L shape thingy...just found your channel and your videos are very relatable.

What an adventure you two are having! Leaving the AS not next to your home….ha sh**! Good luck with the repair! Sad to see but lucky for you they are taking care of it!

For the segment protector pulling the center support out, you need to consider the airflow over the segment protectors. We have a Classic 33 and tow with a HD pickup. Our truck has a bed topper and we run Rock Tamers on our truck. Both of these devices (the Rock Tamers & truck cap) change the airflow that hits the trailer. We also use a ProPride hitch which moves the trailer away from the truck by almost a foot - which also changes the airflow over the segment protectors. I notice your truck doesn’t have a truck cap and may not have Rock Tamers. To solve your problem long term, you need to change the airflow over the segment protectors somehow. They are running in disturbed air - which causes the shaking you’re seeing. So, adding big Rock Tamer mud flaps, some sort of air dam of the type you see in big trucks, or a truck cap would be enough to change the airflow so that you shouldn’t see the shaking of the segment protectors due to running in disturbed air.

Before you disconnect the water open the facet in the kitchen, that releases the pressure to disconnect.
