Here we fix a Carrier water source heat pump in a high rise condo complex. It had several issues due to lack of maintenance and some failed parts. The system was going off on freeze protection which we initially attributed to low refrigerant but ended up being a bad sensor as well. Enjoy the show.

Great work using actual R22. I hare all of the replacement refrigerants. I’d say that was a fair price. Especially using real 22 and new parts. Thermistor and schrader core. Wiring issues. You always have to factor in the pain in the butt of the nature of the type of building and the limited access to the unit itself.

Yeah it was a bit of a goofy one. Definitely wish I would've checked the thermistor. Got tunnel vision on the refrigerant once I knew 100% it was leaking. Most companies in my area would've walked away as they don't charge R22.

@@SurfBrosHVAC Most companies here would have switched the refrigerant to R438a or something. The replacement refrigerants just don’t have the cooling capacity that 22 does. The customer would suffer with a higher energy bill without even knowing why.

I've watched a few of your vids and now realize most of your air handlers are stuck up in a void in the ceiling. That must be so much fun. Here in Canada we like to place them on the floor.

Here it's like 50-50. But they make for shittier jobs AKA better RU-vid videos so most of what I post here is in the ceiling

Water source heat pump. They are hidden in plain sight all over the place. Mostly condos or commercial buildings though

10:45 Prices look good. I see too many start out too low trying to build their biz on the lowest prices. They work their arses off and the cheap customers usually tell their cheap friends how cheap they are not how good of work they do.

That was the first company I worked for and they are still trying to break out of that clientele two generations later. If I went to a quote and they had a cheaper one we would beat it by $200 no questions asked. They didn't even have to show it to us they just had to say their neighbor's brother would do it cheaper and we would beat it

We got it it's just not on camera. The temperature clamps were moving around to get water line temp split. I need to get two more so I can just leave them be

Love the FP probes. It's all I use since they were released. Superheat and subcooling take any guess work out. Pressures just help you know the ballpark.

Is there no outdoor unit? Where is the condenser?

There is an outdoor unit but it is central to the building. The water lines that go into the unit remove the heat or cold from the unit via essentially a condenser coil. It's called a water source heat pump

Yeah I wrote it all up as if billed separately and then discounted it for all being on one visit. On a property like this you're trying to get in and out and not have to come back 6 more times
