Great quote I heard a few years ago, "Trauma carries forward." We now know that trauma even effects the way our genes are expressed. It affects us that deeply.

Agree with the comments why is Brooke still talking about her mother? And Oprah looks bored yet she has her on asking these questions that Brooke's talked about for years.

From what I understand from following her career from the beginning. Her mama was far from sweet. But she turned out okay. Not everyone had sweet mothers, ask Oprah, she did okay too.

So what is Brooke's position ? Is she appreciative of her mother's both dark and admirable sides, or is she trying to redeem herself from the wanting upbringing she feels she had? The bad part of it' d be if her Mum was going through overwhelming moments in her life to keep her safe and successful,and then after she grows up and excels in life,she raises the bar for her Mama, lamenting over the imperfect life that her mother should not have taken her through. From those pics,mother and daughter look happy and contented,as per the situation ... What more could a struggling mother have done to make her daughter happier ? 🤔 Am no even getting this flow 😯 Let's just give our sweet Mamas a break...

If she is here today, all because of her mother's intelligent strategies and planning. She got a college degree (from a prestigious uni) and protected by her mother strongly in a real "jungle" industry. If she didn't end up as a waste in such a difficult environment, it is because of her mother. Even today her mother (by being used here and there) helps her selling her books or finding a place in front of cameras with coloured inflated drama subjects. Please enough already.
