It took me a long, long time, but I finally put my foot down and have refused to be in the same room with him going on 2 years now. It's one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. People forget... toxic people in your family are STILL toxic people. You are NOT obligated to give access to your life to someone who is harmful to your mental and emotional wellbeing, EVEN IF they're more subtle about it and EVEN IF they're family.

My family, same thing. Took me getting married to really start seeing it. My mom was silent and polite during my dress selection. I found out years later it's because my maid of honor, who is almost 6 foot, told her if she made even one negative or passive aggressive snipe she'd make sure she'd be uninvited to the wedding.

I’m getting married, would love a conservative dress with sleeves but out of the dozens of shops that I’ve been to, they may have 1 dress if any at all. And their alterations aren’t cheap

Given the dresses she was looking at were lace dresses, and I assume the sleeves would also be a lace material, alterations would be necessary regardless to ensure they fit correctly on the circumference of her arms. I totally agree though, I can't believe there were no dresses with sleeves for her to at least try!Perhaps that's standard with +size dresses to show the fit of the dress, rather than the alterations that can made :)

There’s a ton of work that goes into bypass. She may have had to lose a certain amount of weight before she could get the surgery, you have to be sooo careful with what you eat, how you eat, and how much. It’s HARD.

April Rawls Actually to get that bypass you have to work to get to certain weight to do it, so she probably did worked hard to get there with medical intervention for a reason.

Thank you! My mom had bypass a year and a half ago, and she had to lose weight before they would even do the surgery. She also had to give HERSELF injections EVERY DAY 😩 I’ve seen how much work goes into bypass, and the people saying she didn’t work for it, bug the crap out of me
