I wonder why people miss the crucial point of the video and complain ad nausea about the speaker's voice and music. I think the music and voice was great and I had no trouble understanding both the voice and video visuals. Always grateful. Thank you for this video!
s.w. a.l.k it makes me laugh that you spent the time to comment. I like the video and that's all that matters! it is helpful and that's what it's all about! have a great day! :-).
I never thought as a man I would be sewing. My fiancé works, cleans, cooks, irons, takes good care of me and is 20 years younger. I'm really not bragging. She's just amazing. My point: Although many of our roles are traditional we broke the mold in the sewing area. I like machines and I like crafts. When I was 10 I learned how to knit with my grandma. I loved watching her and one day she taught me how to make baskets from yarn and hemp. We have a lot of things around the house that needed mending so I decided to buy this Brother machine and try to fix some things that need sewing. My mom threw out our 100 year old Singer many years ago, otherwise I would be using that. I'm pretty mechanical but after reading the manual I was totally stumped on how to use it. I bought this 2600i because it was so inexpensive and appears to be able to do a lot more then I'll ever need it for. It's a fun little machine. This video was EXTREMELY helpful and I think I can finally use it tonight and start sewing. Thank you!.
YAY! I opened the box with my new Brother sewing machine and my heart sank. I have a Mac and can't play DVDs so thank goodness for this youtube video. Now I can start using my machine! PS It works just as well as a visual aid memoire, so you can ignore the sound track if it impedes your understanding ;)
I like the narators calm and easy to understand voice.. She did verry clear and clean tutorial. I want to get brother than singer After watching this .. :) thank you for uploading.
Thanks so much for loading this up. Very instructional and soooooo helpful for an absolute beginner! Can't understand why so many people complain about the voice. There are many narrators with much worse speaking voices! She is clear and inexactly the right tempo. And BTW..... this is a free and very good tutorial. How about a bit of gratefulness?
thank you so much for posting this, very helpful and easy to find what I was looking for through out as I just needing help with button holes! Very much appreciate the effort that went into making this!
this is the ACTUAL dvd tutorial from Brother that comes with the machine! I just watched it lol... then went searching for more info and found this... at least it's very informative regardless of the "voice"
Many thanks for posting this video. When I must do something with my hands, I really need to see it being done. The instruction manual that came with my machine is very good. I am glad to have been able to see what I couldn't understand just from reading. Thank you!!!
Thankyou so much for this..all machines differ slightly so even as a trained machinist it was helpful...but it must be difficult for first time sewer's...i would advise them to have a try with a friend machine of any make to get the gist of sewing machines..if they still find it difficult.. or just take it one step at a time... before learning the rest
This machine is supposed to be an entry level machine. This video (as well as the printed manual that came with the machine) are very good at explaining how to thread the thing and get started but that's pretty much where it ends. I have been sewing for over 30 years on a VERY basic Singer machine and decided to get one with some built-in stitch functions. Threading the bobbin and the upper thread was the easy part. My question is this: My machine has 27 built-in stitch functions. The dial is numbered 1-14 on the outer ring of the dial and 15-27 on the inner ring of the dial. I can change the dial to any stitch numbered 1-7 and all works fine but I have no idea how to use numbers 15-27. And I cannot find any clear description on how to use them. I now suspect that it has something to do with the needle position a.k.a. stitch length but I really don't know. In my world, I would call this less than straight forward for an "entry level" user. Can anyone help? PS - I agree that the music and the voice on this tutorial is a bit hard on the nerves.
My new machine (HE120) is still in the box. Because I tried to handled it like my old machine and failed. Your video has incouraged me to take it out and try it again. Thank you for posting this.
I can't stop LOLing watching this video... the background music & speaker looks like in the 90's... also almost the same annoying music found in PS game "Fishing Bash" or "Harvest Moon" during my childhood
The wire thread guide has come off and unable to fix back on above the needle? Have I broken it as there does not seem to be a place to secure it back on. The machine is a Brother XL 5021. Thank you
I'Ve bought a used Brother XL-5130 (discontinued), the Buttonhole lever part is missing, where can I order the part to repair it? Any advice is appreciated
Hi. I have a brother domestic sewing machine, I want to sew some of my project where vinyl/leather is used, what can you recommend for me to do so that i can sew some vinyl project. Please I need your or someone please.
Some machines have special button stitches but several online sellers offer various universal darning plates for freestyle sewing to suit a variety of machines including your Brother CS-6000i. Maybe you already found this out from searching online. Hope this helps.
I'm having a HORRIBLE time controlling the speed of my XL2600i. Maybe it's because I've been using a 45 year old Necci for 30 years, but practicing doesn't seem to help at all...I've tried stitch guides...everything. It's just too fast to even stitch in a straight line, rendering it completely unusable at this point. Any suggestions you can offer would be great. Thanks! :)
i love that everyone is complaining about the cheesy music and annoying voice as if the uploader had anything to do with it...its clearly a dvd and most instructional ones are obnoxious....regardless very helpful for those machines that do not come with a dvd like mine
Thinking about getting a brother sewing machine. If I sew anything its by hand only. I want to make cute things easier. However I would think it would be easier to just hand sew the buttons on.
I did a search for Brother 885-V67 and this is what came up. This is NOT for the 885-V67 aka XR1335. Right away the cord looks different and the spool pin level is shown as perpendicular which it is not on the 885-V67 aka XR1335. I'm not saying that this video won't help, it is very similar as the DVD that came with my machine but it is not for specifically for the 885-V67 aka XR1335.
The button I want to use is too big for the foot! Any ideas on how I can work around this? Also, this lady's voice and the music?! Really, Brother? Great video but I am amazed that the audio was left in this freaky state!
I'm going to have to start reading manuals when I buy things. I didnt know this machine had a needle threader. I didnt know what that thing was for...smdh!
The thread in my machine keeps snapping. I've tried new thread and I still snaps. I lowered the tension and the bobbin kept tangling under the top stitch. O
Exactly which Disney princess is narrating this? Or is it Ariana Grande's character in Sam and Cat? (I know this because I have a 7-year-old daughter!!!!) Lol.
I cant do 6:52 to 7:08. I keep doing it but its not working for me. Ugh! Its so fustrating because, I just got this sewing machine today and I want to start sewing already!
I still haven't heard about a quarter inch presser foot for quilting. I wasted a lot of time watching what I didn't need to know. I want to know where you get a quarter inch foot.
