Hell yeah dude! If you're buying new they sell the GTX pro which has an updated white ink head compared to this and apparently prints 10% faster again.
@@jacobxpeck Yeah, its for the GTX Pro (Pouch)! I thought that's what you had too (hard to tell). They have a promo right now if you want to upgrade lol. Either way, anything is better than the GT381! We should collab man, its good to know other homies in the community. Shoot me an email or something contact@dotinkdesign.com; www.dotinkdesign.com
Really enjoyed the review dude. I had the early 541 and then had the first GT782 in Europe. It was ok, but the maintenance was a pain in the ass and after ten years it finally died in lockdown. My GTX Pro arrives in the morning and I can’t wait to get it going.
Considering between this and the Epson SureColor F2100 series. I have the Ricoh Ri Series and it's been lackluster for me and unreliable so far. The review is much appreciated.
Great video, Jacob! Very informative & helpful. Thanks! It cracks me up that I keep seeing Omniprint Freejet commercials when I watch your video. I am done with shitbox printers. Anyway, I have a few questions: 1. Do you use Image Armor Ultra PT? 2. I've been reading about how the GTX wastes a lot of white ink when it's sitting around not printing, but those posts are a few years old. Has that changed, perhaps with software updates? 3. After shaking the white ink cartridges you did a white ink reload. What is that exactly? Does the GTX pull white back into the cartridge at the end of day, or is that reload pissing out the white ink in the lines? 4. How do you prevent head strikes with the GTX? Is there a laser sensor, or do you just lower the platen so the garment will fit under the lip? 5. What brand/model tunnel dryer do you have? 6. Lastly, can you recommend a strategy for properly maintaining a GTX Pro while I am building my business up to where I am printing every day? I have a million other questions. You're LUCKY I live in the U.S. or I'd be at your shop, asking questions, until you physically threw me out! Thanks again for the great video!
thanks for the video.. we have operated on an ominiprint 330txplus for about 5 years now. it has been good and we have made our money on it and still do. I thihk i could rebuild the machine now i know it so well. We are at a time where we need to either buy buy another one at a super discounted price of 9k or get a new dtg printer. We have been looking at the brother gtx pro. I am trying to get an idea of how their tech support is after purchase and when things go wrong..would love to hear about your expereience. Thanks for your time
Hey man! If you’re pretty handy with digital printers I’d imagine you wouldn’t really need a tech ever. I’ve got 50k prints on mine now and I’ve never had the technition out, only major issue I’ve had is ink leaked onto a sensor for the gears in maintenance station so I pulled it out myself and cleaned it, really simple machines once you get into them.
My friend just bought this printer and we are trying to get the setting right for bright images on an 80/20 shirt. Could you please share your white and color settings? Also, any suggestions on the pretreat process?
I just have a random branded Ceramic element one, just need one that has a 3.5 minute dwell time and you should be okay! Obviously forced air is ideal since water based inks but not a must.
@@jacobxpeck thanks for the reply mate. If you had the time, I would appreciate the ability to ask you one or two questions privately. If not - thanks again for the vid and the reply 🙌🏻
If you’re going to be printing dtg then a pre treat machine is a massive time saver, I exclusively print dtf with my machine now so don’t own a pre treat machine
Is it fine letting the printer sit for a week maybe without printer. And do they have a auto clean setup in the printer or do they not get clogged like a regular dtg
Hello. I was wondering if you know if the machines can print on other fabric than what you have on the t-shorts? Such typical work clothes in the construction industry with different types of fabric. I was also wondering where you buy clothes for printing. I live in Norway, so here it is not profitable for me to shop if I am going to start with printing.
Hello! For polyester or non cotton clothing we usually use the brother machine to print a DTF which is onto transfer film with an adhesive powder and then use a heat press to press onto those types of garments
Heaps of aftermarket options in the states! I ended up back using brother pre treatment as availability ended up a bit annoying with aftermarket ones. 36k prints on the machine and still pumping 💪🏻💪🏻
@@jacobxpeck bro! Your killin it! Just got all the training this week. A bit overwhelming but I’m getting it. They sent a 3 gallon jug of pre treat. So I’ll be using that for awhile lol.
Can you do front and back on this printer? Also, I see just large images, can you do a small image on one part of the shirt (like a pocket or business name) and then its logo in the middle or on the back? Or are all shirts just one shot images on the front?
Wondering if GTX is good enough to handle massive orders. I own a sportswear and planning to buy just the GTX model. Is there a huge difference between just the GTX and Pro model?
Gtxpro is just updated model of the GTX. Same printer basically with just a different white print head for better white ink circulation! Id buy a gtxpro as gtx would be older stock.
Hi just wondering how the quality is printing a white logo on a black shirt or coloured shirt? i have the opportunity to purchase a second hand GTX with low usage at a really really good price but not sure if i should go a GTX PRO as it might do white logos better?
Hey! Sorry for late reply haha. Yeah they do great white prints once you get your process dialed it’s sweet, gtx and gtx pro are basically the same, prob just has an optimized white head for circulation, but I haven’t seen much difference in print quality between the two. I’ve mostly been doing dtf printing with my gtx lately
Haha yeah I actually have an 8 colour auto now and still use the brother daily for DTF, I’m in Australia so digital squeegee is like $400k and not that many customers doing huge runs and needing full colour to make it viable.
Hi! Very interesting. We are doing manual screen printing here and are having back problems haha! do you think the digital way would be a good replacement? The look and feel of the print is similar? Thank you! :)
Thanks for this video. If anyone owned Epson based before and switched to GTX. Can you help please, how much more inks cost on GTX compared to Dupont. Whats average cost per print. maintenance wise do you have to fix as often as Epson and if so what breaks and whats cost repair, should be done by Brother tech or can be done by owner. Thanks in advance!
A converted epson printer isn’t even remotely close to the machine the brother gtx is. Ink cost is high on brother, in Australia 2X 550cc bags of white is $520. Print cost depends on print, anywhere from 10c to $5. I’ve had this almost 12 months and kept maintenance up and haven’t had any repairs, heads can be replaced by owner.
Hey man, great video, I’m wondering if you can help, I’ve just had some prints done from a U.K. company who I am using for drop shipping, they use a Brother gtx printer, but I’ve had some prints back and they are really struggling to print The colour Mint green or Turquoise they are the only colours that come out really blue and dark, have you come across this problem are there any fixes for this colour gamut, in photoshop or on the printer thanks
Hey! Thanks so much, yeah we have definitely found some shades of mint green/turquoise just don’t print on the GTX, brother have a colour chart on their website you can use but will just be a bit of fine tuning in the design to get it to print correctly.
@@jacobxpeck thanks I’ll check that chart out on the site, see what I can do to figure out a replacement shade or tweak, thanks for replying too appreciate it
@@jacobxpeck I contacted the supplier and they said you have to swap between two for light and dark coloured shirts. Do you do that or just use the one?
The Firebird Pretreat doesn’t need to be diluted but if you get the actual Brother brand, it’s concentrated so it’s diluted 1:1 on darker shirts and 1:2 on lighter shirts.
I did 20% deposit and loan for the rest for mine, works for me since loan is about $120 a week. It’s situation dependent but paying $120 a week is easier than saving $30k to me.
Hi, do you have any idea how to save white ink, I'm starting business printing and have gtx dtg printing, I usually recommend my customers to print on bright!/white shirt to save cost budget on white ink but the problems is even though I use white ink or not, the white ink still flow 😂, . That damn white ink so pricey.... I have no other choice to find more customers /rise my printing shirt to cover my cost for buying white ink, any suggestions to save white ink
everyone know the Brother GTX ink very expensive. if you work with the third-party ink. you worry it will clog the printhead. how to do? In china . the 700ml brother GTX original ink around 1300RMB. around 1.8RMB/ml However 18liter GTX original ink around 12000RMB. arround 0.7RMB/ml. both are original ink, the 18liter cheaper. awesome content, keen for more updates and challenges you face running your business! Would you be able to share where you sourced your printer and pre-treatment machine from? Thank you!
Hey man! Thanks so much, main challenges are enough hours in the day to get through the work at the moment haha. Printer clicked over 7000 prints the other day so still going good! Only thing I’ve changed since video is using image armor pretreat instead of firebird due to availability. Bought my printer and pretreat from GJS and use them for the supplies also.
@@jacobxpeck So good to hear man! seeing what you have been able to achieve and create is really dope! Awesome insight, if i go through them ill mention you referred me (maybe theyll give you free ink or something haha). Keen for more content !
Don’t have to print any per day and can let it sit, depends on your pricing, if you’re printing retail priced shirts it’ll be less, wholesale you’ll need to do more, I try not to fire it up for the day for less than 10 shirts usually.
hey dude, in need your help, I have a GT3 printer, but im having problems printing, i have everything ready to print, sent it to the printer, but for some reason, just dont print, im i doing something wrong, please please please HEEEELP.... thanx
Cmyk only printer won’t really make neon greeen and yellow pop, DTF printer with neon inks might be your best bet, if you have brother gtx good amount of white and turn the brightness and contrast up to 15
@@jacobxpeck thanks brother, appreciate it if you do good work Im looking for a good printer to print my artwork, I do the most realistic Hot Rod art in the world. Face book group "Pro Street Toonz Photo Transmogrified by Dono"
My printer is not printing white. Any ideas? Nothing at all prints on a test print. We do the cleaning of the parts. We did a super cleaning, we circulated the white lines (bye bye 50% of the white ink) please help...
Only time I’ve had the issue of dropping channels is when the exhaust ports have blocked up, get right in there with a heap of cleaning fluids, hopefully you sort the problem really soon man!
Thanks man! Ink is around 50c per CC biggest design we’ve printed for customer was 13.5cc so not terrible! Most of the death clique designs are around 6-8cc
@@nzed316 DTF and DTG are very different per shirt cost, we don’t print dtg anymore and dtf we’re about 50c per cc of ink and sheets we use are 80c, usual large rear print and pocket logo is about 2cc to 3cc
@@nzed316 majority of what we do is black shirts with a front pocket and large rear logo so we can get both prints on one sheet opposed to if it was dtg we’d need to print and cure both sides separately therefore doubling print time. And I’ve found heat pressing both sides of a tee is about the same time as printing another full dtf transfer sheet so workflow is way easier shirts being completed with one print.
Hey! I haven’t used it as I live in Australia but I’m fairly sure they’d offer samples as most pretreat companies do, I’ve found once you work out the process needed for each pretreat they’re kind of similar, I’ve used brother, epson, firebird and image armor. Currently just using brother pretreat.
We're about to pull the trigger on a GTX Pro on our screen printing shop, how's the ink waste with routine cleanings? And around how many prints can you do with the 700cc bags, thanks!
Great addition to a screen shop! Gtx likes being used daily as it will still waste ink on circulations etc, ink waste isn’t too bad if you’re using it regularly. Depends on the print sizes man, cmyk inks last for 1000+ depending, as doesn’t use a lot, white inks go a lot faster, say 200/300 on most fashion designs for the 2X700cc bags
Unfortunately, I purchased 4 Brother GTX. I am so disappointed The machine functions well when it is operational, but once it breaks down, the situation becomes a nightmare. The service provided by Brother is incredibly disappointing. They charge for numerous parts under the guise of "fixing" your machine, only to later inform you that additional parts are required. They send technicians to attempt repairs, but each time, they request more parts, leading to additional charges for unnecessary components, technician time, travel expenses, and mileage. To date, I have already paid approximately $3000, believing that the issue had been resolved. However, the machine still fails to print, and now they are demanding an additional $3000 to "fix" it. I made the mistake of relying on their services, and I caution others to be aware of this before making a purchase. Please note that my experience is personal and not intended as a recommendation.
Super disappointing to hear! I’m at 36,000 prints and haven’t had to have a technician come look at the machine at all. Exceptionally lucky. Hope your issue gets resolved soon man.
Depends on your business model, pro is good for shops that do lower amounts of tee’s. I’d say a pro B you’d want to be doing 250+ prints a day to warrant the additional cost
@@jacobxpeck ad get f3000 50secs full tee prints .. I have a pro bulk and it’s solid but f3000 with dryer seems unbeatable 50 blk tees per hr .. gtx on average is 30secs slower
