Hi i am 66 years old and just this week bought a ukulele. I have played a few chords on guitar before but i am really a learner. Your lesson has been so helpful i can play along with you already with only a slip now and then. Keep up the good work excellent teacher.
Peter Osborne This is also my experience, at 66 years old, or young! Cinthia Lin, you’re the best, and it’s yo, and your spirit that keeps me playing and full of joy. Thank you for that 💚🐸
I'm also 66 years old and just started 2 1/2 months ago. I'm amazed how quickly I've learned with Cynthia's tutorials. I became a $10 Patreon and find the Live Jams helpful and a lot of fun.
I’m almost 57, played clarinet as a young person. I don’t even know why I decided to buy a ukulele but I did and in just a few days I feel so much joy learning to play through your videos. I am retired so spend hours in a day practicing as it’s so much fun! My dog is always in the background. Sometimes I think he’s asking me to stop. But they are supportive in their own way. Your little pup is totally relaxed!
Hi again! I learned from you 7 years ago and haven’t played for almost 2 years, due to illness. Now I am starting over, getting refreshed from your tutorials and trying to teach others to play with your help. I am 72 and have a 92 year lady in my group learning to play! You have touched the lives of so many people. God bless you Cynthia Lin 💚🐸
I picked up an Ukulele as a 41st birthday day present to myself. I have never played an instrument before apart from those trusty grade school recorders. I must say that I can't put it down! I search through a lot of so called "beginners" Uke videos on youtube and they were so hard to follow. I'm so happy I found your tutorials!!! You are a great teacher and I was able to follow along with ease. It took me a while to get the island strum but I'm now enjoying playing Brown Eyed Girl and Stand By Me as well as the other songs you've posted with easier strum patterns. So Thank You!
When I started playing uke 5 weeks ago I couldn't find the chords or keep the pace. Now I can do both decently. And its all due to your tutorials and encouragement. I'm so excited. Thanks, Cynthia.
I played a uke as a kid 60 years ago....a miniature uke. After hearing this beautiful singer and her Ukulele, I want to try it out again, with the full sized one. The rendition of this song is great!
Hi Cynthia!!! I never thought I could play an instrument, I'm 40 with 2 kids. I got one for Christmas and it sat in closet and looked at it for a year. You made me play!!!! I cant even believe it! I watch you several times a day, I learned 3 little birds, I'm yours and this . You taught me so many tips and tricks that help me SO MUCH!! I have a big request, that will make my life complete!!! Can you Please, please, please teach me the cowboy song from the movie Joe verses the Volcano? I would be SO SO SO happy and grateful!!!!! :) words cannot express!!! xoxoxo
Best uke teacher on RU-vid 😘😘😘✌🌹🌷🌺 i can't believe i could play this one and learn it so quickly too! Only been playing uke for 8 days! Have learnt 4 songs with you. Many thanks and God bless you, Cynthia Lin 😚 I'm so happy and my singing and playing are bringing joy to those around me too. Mwah!
Cynthia, you are the most fantastic teacher! You make me not want to do anything else but play the uke with you! You break things down and explain so clearly - making things that at first seem out of reach the next achievable challenge. And you are always so encouraging. It feels like you are sitting with us personally, so pleased with our progress, and cheering us on. Thank you!
I always wanted to play an instrument but never had a teacher. I'm 22 and picked up my very first ukulele 3 month ago, now I can play loads of chords, different strumming patterns, and finally can sing to most of the songs.. You helped me so much! Whenever I'm feeling down I just pick up the ukulele and play some songs, and it immediately cheers me up.. I can't be more grateful! Keep on making videos, bacause you put a smile on our faces:)

I've had an uke for years but didn't know how to tune or play it. After purchasing a fender turner and 9 days after starting your tutorials, I can play and sing along. I'm now a Patreon supporter! You are a fantastic teacher, I can't thank you enough for opening me up to discover my heritage.
Cynthia, me a few friends have been learning to play the ukulele. Myself, about 4 months . Your tutorials are so easy to follow. Our playing has improved so quickly. You are an inspiration to us all !!! Thank you my dear xx
There are 6 people who didn't like this? Her playing is beautiful, her singing is beautiful, and she is beautiful. And, oh.....it's a great song. What's not to like???
Right? ...and it's up to 20 now. I can't figure people out. Somebody takes the time to share of themselves and this is what they get back. Thanks Cynthia. I loved this. Ukelele coming today. Can't wait. Hoping a guitarist can pick it up quickly.
Thank you Cynthia for making these wonderful tutorials! I'm laid up for a bit while I recover from foot surgery and I'm using the time to learn to play the ukulele. I'm loving your videos and lovely voice!
You radiate such positive energy....its a pleasure to play the ukulele with you in my living room each day.. You make learning a breeze...Thankyou Cynthia
I am 72 and a learner and have struggled with rythmn's before I found your tutorials. Playing along with you in your videos has really helped so thank you so much
My niece started a Ukulele club with a group of home school kids..... her three daughters are home school and they have a choir group that meets twice a week, so just before choir they meet for ukulele for an hour or so..... I'm 58 years old and I'm doing it with them!!! Lol!!! It is so much fun! I have to stay on top of things you know..... so I practice with you in between club meetings! Your video's are fantastic, they've helped me so much..... and you are absolutely adorable! ;-)
I am a real first timmer,64 and my first ever, and I have a whole family of musicans, harder than it looks, but I am determined, you have a very nice way about teaching very detailed, thank you so much for all your time and dedication.
What a relief! For as much as I battled to get videos 3, 4, and 5 HALF way to my satisfaction, this one is like taking a break. I need not have worried! Now I have to go back and mis-strum myself silly again with the previous lessons for a few more weeks, haha!
Thank you for creating such compelling and engaging tutorials. There are plenty of online resources but I find myself returning to your ukulele material over and over. I’m 3 weeks into my new hobby and am very happy with my progress thanks to your instruction. Keep smiling and sharing your gifts!
Success for me is Over the Rainbow played for my wife, and this song right here. I got my Ukulele this week and watch this video at the end of every practice session.
I love your voice and talent .... Very soothing . I am stressed right now being a first responder etc. etc. However the calls have been down but we no it's coming . Bless you .... Your a Sweetheart .
Went back to practice this song as I found the timing actually pretty difficult. It's fun to try and sing along and it's such a big help to listen to you. The other thing is that you have such a perfectly timed strum. I find as you get a little more advanced you can learn new things from looking at earlier videos.
Like so many others, I was given a uke for christmas, somehow, I am now addicted. Love your videos, love the island strum. Help get me out of this study and back into the real world. Well maybe just one or two more song first !
Well, I'm coming from Belgium and I'm 44. I've just received a uku for my birthday. Your lesson are great. You are a sweet and marvellous teacher. Please go on ;-)
Thank you Cynthia! You inspired me to be brave and learn to play the UK that I have dreamed of growing up in the Philippines. I can actually play some of your beginner's music without stopping to look at the fret.
You have been so helpful. These are the best ukulele tutorials on the internet! I’ve been playing 6 weeks and I already sound like I know what I’m doing.
Cynthia I really appreciate the time you invest to compile these videos, by the way they are great, you are blessed with the power of teaching pretty naturally. I am learning a lot watching them, my uke skills are at another level, THANK YOU!
Cynthia, I am in Australia, Queensland and took up the ukulele during Covid. So glad l found your channel you have really helped me enjoy trying to play the Uke.😁😁😆
You are awesome and a great teacher. I follow you so easily and you always end up answering the questions in my head. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to my son and I learning this together.
this a much easier chord progression than the one i have. much easier to play and have fun with. The other one had G, C, D, D7 and Em. Your interpretation is much better.
Thank you Cynthia ... for sharing your passion. I'm enjoying strumming along and am learning some tips along the way. I do like the Island strum and plucking individual stings within a strum. Have shared your link with my daughter (for her 6 yr old) and my sister who also plays ukulele.
Hi Cynthia. This is one of the first favorite songs , i learned to play on my ukulele, started playing in 2022. I love it. Today i'm able to play easy fingerpicking. I love the song : Vincent by Don Mc Clean. Do you have a play along from this song with fingerpicking?
You do a great job with these beginner's videos, Cynthia. Your always-sunny, "C'mon, you can do this!" disposition is a wonderful motivational tool. I've watched and played along with the 'Brown-eyed Girl' video for about a week now, and I'm close to having it down... so I thought it was time I downloaded the chord chart and tossed you a couple of bucks. Please don't stop giving us these superior lessons. And by the way, I'm diggin' your dog. Thanx. 😉
I am learning to play my ukulele finally because I lost my okole at da casinos and I thank you for making life wonderful again, and for free too, wow, I suddenly feel rich again for some reason🤙mahalo
Thank you, Cynthia. I have been a drummer/percussionist for most of my life and now want to branch out to either Uke or Mandolin. (I play drums and world percussion by ear, so I have always felt like a sort of second-class musician). I have looked at quite a few RU-vid video lessons for Ukulele and Mandolin and frankly, your beginner lessons for Ukulele (and I am a RANK beginner) look engaging and fun. I am in the middle of lesson 1 and am enjoying your teaching style. So, again, thank you! Cheers! -Jeff M. Sarasota, FL
My Dear, I just love your tutorials, you have the voice of an angel, and a smile to knock any guy off his feet!! Please don't stop posting when you have the time...JJ
Cynthia, I am a Ukuelel newbie. I have borrowed one from a library last week that is right handed but I'm left handed. I just wanted to see if I would like it and get the chord changes and strumming styles figured out before I bought one for a lefty. Cynthia you have made this first week of my Uke experiance very enjoyable. Thank you. I'll be looking for a left hand Uke next week.
Wow, thanks for the wonderful lesson. I surprised myself with what I couldn't believe was possible. I feel like I went from beginner to a pro in an hour. This is my jam! Thanks for the lessons mate. Great voice, and great tips.
Thank you for helping me! I have a suggestion- unstead of saying the cords as you play, you could edit them in over your right shoulder in the beginning- so I can play along without memorizing the pattern?
Thank you ever so much for sharing your fabulous talent. I just started today and love your teaching style because you make it so easy for us newbies. Love your voice
Great - you made me happy for a moment - nicce singing and paying - I have a gooooweeetar but I am learing the uke slowly when I am no too drunk . I think ukukelele Mike is also a good teacher. All the best happy singer Girl
Aloha Cynthia, it's Jo-Ann Cuevas, you're beach friend!! It was so great meeting you on Linda Mar beach last weekend. You are such an island girl. I love it. When I saw you carrying your surfboard, I knew for sure! You go girl. Thanks for this great instruction. For some reason, I'm struggling a little bit through the changes but I love a challenge. As I said on the beach, your instruction is en pointe, your demeanor is pleasant and friendly, and you make me want to learn more. Mahalo!
Hey Cynthia! Thank you so much for your excellent channel. I would love to see a version of this tutorial that shows the notes over the lyrics like you’ve done on some other songs - it’s so helpful. Thank you. I’m currently puzzling over the differences between the notes on the printout for the bridge and your instructions on the tutorial itself. I’m puzzled but I’ll get there! Thank you.
