Sometimes certain powders do not work well with certain bullets for specific calibers/cartridges. Here is a video of just that circumstance.

Well that’ll save me from trying that load. Thx for the video. I have used imr 4350 in my 25-06 for a long time. I have also learned a lot about reloading since I started so some load work up is in order. I like that bar and I bought one about the first year I knew that they made it in 25. It has served me pretty well with flat trajectory and easy recoil and follow up shots. I hope you have a good season with it and many more to come. Happy hunting 👍

Just bought a BBR Browning, it’s my first real rifle. Will take a month or so before the police approves it. Only bolt action rifle I shot before is PSG 90, the standard sniper rifle in the swedish military.

Morning My Friend! Understand this powder is close to 4350. Always thought Id like that BAR in 338 to tame Recoil. Then shot a 300 quite a bit and didnt liken it at all.

Mornin' CW. StaBall 6.5 didn't work well for my 25-06's . Need a slower powder indeed.

I got a .243 and .338 Win Mag BAR and man are they sweet rifles, with those two calibers I can do it all. However, while they’re nice rifles I do like spending more time behind a suppressed .308 AR10 for deer or larger or a .223 AR15 for coyotes/varmints since it’s the type of rifle I need the most practice and time behind because that is what is not only puts meat on the table, but a rifle to go to war with if necessary. I wouldn’t take my limited magazine size BAR’s to battle, so I rarely take em out of the safe anymore. BAR’s are beautiful hunting rifles tho, a neat piece of history.

very well done... I like how you are able to determine that the powder is not suitable for the load desired... Unlike myself trying to make a powder do something it is not capable of...

Dave. Always a good, interesting and informative video. I have my share of those days when things just don't go as planned. In fact, I had that happen today while chronographing .38 Specials. I loaded them all the same and with the same care but had several that were way off not even in the same ballpark. Just target ammo but it is still frustrating. Thanks again and take care. My R700 25 won't shoot worth a cuss on any loaf I out through it unless I'm just wringing it for all it's worth. Everything else I like mild loads, but my 25-06 just has to be pushed to max and then all of a sudden it shoots. Funny how every gun has its own personality.

Hi Dave I got a question for you. You are using that type of chronographs,like me and do you have any like burnout on the system

Burnout? Do you mean errors? With the Magnetospeed Sporter, there are only 4 things that can go wrong. 1.The bayonet distance from the muzzle and the improper spacer for bullet path. 2. Improper Sensitivity setting. 3. Weak Battery 4. Display not reading the Bayonet. Hope this helps. But yes, this is my second sporter.

You maybe right. But my experience with high velocity loads, the wind has very little effect at 100 yards. Time of flight to target is

@@davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho8009 Dave, I opened this link when I was near internet service. The lightest charge was 48.x grs, that with a 120gr slug. Lighter bullet RL23 charge weights went well over 50 grs. Me confused. Thanks!
