His performance in this never fades from my memory. Twenty years after I saw this film, my mother was lingering in a coma, and the nurse said to me, "She's staying for you. You have to give her permission to go." I was terrified and started to refuse. And what came to me was a memory of Bruce Davison playing a man of extraordinary strength, and I just pretended I was him and okay with it, and said the words he said. "You can go now," I said. "You can go."

What are you talking about, "deserving', Bruce Davison is one of the most talented and intelligent actors in the US. A lot of Americans think that "grammar" is somebody they see at the weekend!

Bruce Davison is a talented actor every bit as good asthe great Spencer Tracy. Now that he is in his senioryears, let's hope he gets some of the roles Tracy wouldhave played.

He was fortunate to win, considering he was up against some top actors . I knew him casually when i went to The Quintano's School For Young Professionals ( high school) in the 1960s . I dont know if he was really attending the school or just came around to visit some other show biz kids who attended. I always remember the day when many of us kids were hanging out, outside the school on a break, and Bruce was standing close behind me, and making comments about what i was saying in the group. I could never figure out if he was joking or just being sarcastic. But it actually seemed like what he said was ,like when a guy likes a girl but doesn't know how to go about getting her interested in him. I just felt he seemed a bit like a conceited wise guy, but in a nice way . Its very hard to explain this vibe i got from him. I didnt really know if he was an young actor for sure, i never asked him. We were basically young people hanging out in a group of high schoolers who,were in some aspect of show business. I knew vor sure he was an actor several years l later, when i would see him acting in TV shows.
