Why is it people like him took so long to get knighted, while anyone who turned up for the 2012 Olympics to clean the toilets and come last in their respective events got gonged up the wazoo? 2011 Knighthood for someone with a 70+ year career and known the world over. Alan Sugar and Richard Branson weren't knighted until 2000 after 30+ years in business, and Patrick Moore had to wait until 2004 after nearly 50 years of being on TV. Yet any idiot can hop on a bike in London and get one straight away. The system stinks. The only reason footballers don't get them en masse is purely political and footballers already have too much.
