Looking back at this now it's clear to see that a lot of the dancing was Bruce improvising. He was obviously one of those people who rehearsed loosely and then makes it up on the night which was what made him a bit of a nightmare in today's telly to work with, but made for great viewing and a great deal of admiration for Anton keeping up. I reckon Anton is basically Brucie 30 years younger! Just his looks and his reactions to stuff and his sense of humour! Anton may as well be Bruce's son!
+kevin heming I know, everything has to be the Brucie show! It's almost as if he was presenting the show at that time! Honestly, it doesn't hurt for him to do one performance and have Anton join in. Anton is a singer too and they just wanted a bit of fun.
You know why they did the song? Both Bruce and Anton LOVED the song and Bruce went to Dave Arch (the conductor of the orchestra at that point) at the time, talked to him and then came back to Anton and said "I went to the orchestra, I have got the music so we're performing the song on the show!" Anton was like "Wow... ok then!" They were just having a laugh!!!
You know, I can't even decide which one of those two I love more. They're both so.. so.. Is "Quirky" the word I'm looking for here? Adorable? Sweet? Charming? Either way, They would be lovely as a hosting duo :)

So Bruce can sing, dance and make people laugh. And Anton can sing, he DEFINITELY can dance and make people laugh. I therefore notice the obvious similarities.
I was really hoping Anton would be Sir Bruce's replacement as co-presenter of Strictly Come Dancing. Dont get me wrong, I like Claudia, but I just think Anton would've been better suited for the role, especially since he and Sir Bruce have such good chemistry. I love this video though, it always makes me smile when I'm feeling down ☺

I think they wanted him to be but he would have had to be the lead presenter, that's just his personality and I don't think Tess would've been happy about that after so many years. (Just my theory)
Anton is defiantly THE personality of strictly. (Apart from Bruce of course, may he rest in peace) he is capable of so much?? I wish he would present some shows.
bruce forsythe eh ! what a lad he is , I remember him back in the late 1940s when he used to busk outside pubs , that's when he met Ron and Reg and they got him a job at the bbc , well the rest is history .
So the SCD crew have noticed the similarities between Bruce and Anton then. they are a sweet father and son act. The funny thing is though is that Bruce mentions Ant and Dec when Ant's wife (Lisa Armstrong) works in make-up on SCD!
The man has literally owned show business so long he IS showbusiness. Anyone who doesn't give Brucie his dues hasn't been a person long enough to understand why he deserves them.
During Weakest Link Strictly special, Anne asked Anton about his real name, when asked this, he said: "M-my real name is Anton du Beke. Erm, my father is Hungarian, my mother is Spanish. My brother is... errrr... wanted... for..."He actually looked like he was panicking trying to think of something! I was sat there thinking "But why is he making something up about his brother? Surely he'd know without improvising!
In an interview once with Claudia, Bruce was talking about who should replace him if/when he retires. Claudia said "Vernon Kay?" And Bruce said "Yes that sounds good. And then Claudia said "Or Anton du Beke?" And he said "Yes, that would be brilliant!" Maybe that's what he wants if he gets replaced. His lookalike taking over! Pass the baton!
The reason Anton wasn't sacked was because he apologized straight away, both to her face and publicly. She didn't take any offence to it and she said on TV that she knew the comment was made in jest and she was happy to continue their partnership. He took responsibility and she didn't see the need to go acting the victim all over the papers. It was a year ago, get over it.
Anton appeared out of nowhere, Apparently there are no photos of his mother or father... He looks and acts exactly like Bruce, everything points to it being his son
Anton's late father is Hungarian and his mother is Spanish so it would be difficult to find any pictures of them. He has two younger siblings but he didn't grow up abroad. Although he grew up around junior boxing and golf he decided to sign up for dance. That's all I could find.
@kevinturvy It's a skit, I don't suppose it was meant to be brilliant (but of course your mileage may vary as to it's success). Besides they're not a father and son act but I suppose you probably know that though you might not if not a Strictly fan. (Though fans will speculate as to why they look so similar!)

That may be, but he prefers to be called Anton du Beke, so lets just call him that, OK, seeing as thats his preferred name, even if he was christened as Tony Beak or Anthony Beak. And with the terrorist thing. He said on SCD ITT that he is so sorry, to Laila, all the partners, staff at SCD and the viewers and everyone at home and he feels so stupid , and I know that he means it by how he was talking on ITT. Laila's forgiven him, as has everyone else on SCD, so shouldn't we leave it as well???
I hardly think it's fair to say he supports the BNP because he called someone a paki. And it wasn't like he was attacking her and using racial slurs to bully her. Yes he should watch what he says in future, it was a tasteless remark. But i think people might be taking it a tad too far.
Let me explain, you are missing the point on a few things here sunshine. RU-vid has a thing called comment's it is used as a soapbox for people to get there views heard. There really is no point in reading all the comment's about i love this man, women or whatever, as these are written by fans. I like to read the real comment's like the guy who work in the gent's clothes store and bruce came in and threatened to have him sacked if he did not laugh at his jokes.. etc
