In honor of Sifu Richard Bustillo
Sifu Richard Bustillo passed on this day, March 30th, 2017.
On that day I was boarding a flight and remember the exact moment as we were on the jetway just boarding the aircraft.
My longtime student Nate Young was with me that day, just as he is today.
He has trained with me since he was a high school kid in 2007.
The day Sifu passed was very near the ten year anniversary of his training in the art.
In 2011, after four years of training, I introduced him to my teacher Sifu Richard.
Just before filming this Nate and I were training with our IMB Ohana.
These are brothers and sisters of students under Sifu Richard.
Today we all gathered via a live Zoom internet conference to train together with instructors
Sifu Steve, Guro Mike, & Sifu John at the IMB Academy in California.
This may have been the day Sifu Richard passed away,
but he will live in our hearts forever.
