I don't think Vince realized how much Andre needed to be around the boys. Years later Rick Martel put it perfectly. He said that in real life Andre was viewed as a freak and everything was uncomfortable for him, but when he was with the boys he was with his family and he wasn't treated as a freak.

Google says Andre was worth millions when he died, plus owns a classy French restaurant in Canada, plus his huge Home and farm he left his daughter and family. Who knows how many acres it has, plus cattle. So I don't see him doing it for money. Andre loved wrestling. He did it for the love of wrestling.

This has been confirmed multiple times by multiple sources: Hulk Hogan made more money than every wrestler combined at WM3. That's f_cked up. I get that Hogan was the #1 guy, but to treat other star wrestlers like Andre and Macho Man that way is ridiculous.

Andre the Giant transcends the wrestling business. Andre was the wrestling business for many years, but always a special attraction. He was such an icon that his legend is much bigger than the actual man was. As a child of the 80s, he scared the hell out of me when he went at the Hulkster. As a man in my late 30s, I respect his work ethic and love for the wrestling business. He gave it everything he had.

Andre appearing later in WCW is like his appearances and matches in other places like over in Japan or earlier in his career in the territories. Andre is a legend and historical figure of the entire wrestling business, not just WWF/WWE. Even though he spent probably most of his time working for both Vince Sr. and Jr. Vince Jr. really got the best of Andre business and money wise in producing Andre as part of his shows but that wasn't the best of Andre times inside the ring. The younger more agile giant performed best inside the ring. However, Andre was famous for simply just who he was. Not due to his association with WWF/WWE. Bruce Pritchard is a WWE Company guy. What he says only echos WWE thoughts and opinions. In other words, Vince opinions. Andre was bigger than WWF/WWE and their now ridiculous Hall of Fame. Bottom line, WWE is a part, a major part, of the wrestling business but it isn't the whole business. To Pritchard and stooges like him working for Vince they are. This crummy 90 day "no compete" clauses after a wrestlers departure. Fans are not stupid, the guy or gal either works for you or not. Free agency is just that upon the day a contract expires. Your use has expired. Would anyone like to leave a job and sit out without pay for 90 days or more?
@jamesmccormick875

What isn’t said enough about Andre is that he was a bully in the ring and pretty nasty to fans. The idea that he was a gentle giant is utter nonsense. He used his influence and power in the business to take liberties with other wrestlers in the ring and to get wrestlers fired he didn’t like. That being said Andre was a Larger than life Wrestler and a genuine Icon in wrestling and in popular culture. He is the Mount Rushmore of Wrestlers and more than just a legend. Andre transcends the business and is bigger than wrestling.

What are these 'hard feelings' derived from? I hate when these two do this. Explain the reason for the hard feelings. What, because Andre wasn't ready to retire? Because that's all I've ever heard, and that's a pretty weak reason for both Vince and Andre to act like butthurt teenage girls.
