Can not imagine how this made Jon feel. Humbled? Touched? Loved? Appreciated? All of this! Thank you, Jon. Thank you Bruce and Gary, too. What a loving tribute. ❤❤❤
Thank YOU for acknowledging him in the comments, as I was unfamiliar with who he is. This was a wonderful COLLABORATION and should be titled / described as such.
Thank You! I was looking for the name of Gary Clark Jr. Not someone I'm familiar with and it seems like I'm really missing out. Everybody knows and loves Springsteen but I was far more impressed with Gary Clark Jr. I wonder why his name isn't mentioned anywhere here.
Thats as big of an honor as it gets. The Bruce, living legend sings a song just for you. CONGRATS JON. I do hope he runs for president... as a republican... clean that party from the inside... think about it.
🥰🌹😍🌺🎸 Thank You to Gary Clark Jr. and of course to Bruce for the great performances. Jon Stewart you deserve a huge Thank You for all the work you're doing to Help Veterans Sickened by Burn Pits. As a Veteran who is blessed not to have this issue I salute you and your friend John for all you're doing.
Hearing that version made me feel that song for the first time. I've always loved it but, this version was amazing. The entire mood of the song changed with this version. This gave me the feel of "Landslide" by Stevie Nicks. Not that they sound the same but, the feel and emotion aspect was similarly equal. This was amazing.
@@iseentitnews4569 If you want to hear a huge change, listen to the slowed down acoustic live " Born in the USA ". That is what that song was supposed to be like, not the version releasing on the album
💖🎶🔉💖✍🌐Great It was Dear Bruce Springsteen as always Beautiful what a voice warm clear purity and more... Great Song of Bruce Springsteen... And more.. Soryteller. too... Yes great Birthday of John Stewart 😍🌐💖 it was.... Thanks so much for sharing this great moment Love it so much Congratulations🎵🎶💖🌐🔉🎵💖
A mention of Gary Clark,Jr. in the title would have been nice! What a beautiful musical tribute from a legend and a tremendous young talent! Great job,Bruce and Gary!
Hi! Yes, you are right. I'll change that and give the credit to Gary Clark Jr. as deserved. Reason why it's not included is, that mostly my videos get instantly banned on YT for violating copywrite infringements, so in a first try I don't put so much effort in the description in order maybe not to get banned this time. Thanks for pointing this out.
Yup. It'd also be cool to mention Jon Stewart in the title. I mean, yeah, we all love Steward. But I'm fairly certain the Twain went to Stewart this year...
Bruce Springsteen... the man, the artist, the musician and storyteller who made me grow up from the teenager who learned English listening Pet Shop Boys to the young man growing fast into an adult. Bruce Springsteen has been for me, in music, what Jerry Lewis first then Robin Williams have been in comedy. Bruce's music and voice talked to my human conscience, Jerry and Robin kept it still alive long enough to listen to him still today. They all together have given a purpose to my existence. Bruce has also another merit... he made me fall in love with the best side of the United Sates of America, whose Springsteen represents the heart and soul.
What a lovely tribute to Bruce Springsteen reflecting upon what his music has meant to you (as well as the artistry of Jerry Lewis and and Robin Williams). I wholeheartedly agree with you that Bruce represents the very best of America. I first became aware of Bruce via "Born in the USA" and after that I was hooked.
@@SandraNelson063 Ditto Sandra. I think it absolutely counts. I feel the same way about Bruce and it's been about the same amount of time for me as well.
@@joycliffe266 Born in the USA was my very 1st album by him, then The River. What made me discover Bruce was another another album tho... USA for Africa... his voice in the main track and, most of all, in his track "Trapped" were the hook. Jerry save my life a few times, Robin kept me attached to life itself. That's the power of irony and self-irony {it didn't save Robin's life, at the end of the day, but doesn't change my point} I'm grateful for from them. Bruce gave me, a quickly growing teenager, perspective on what "living" means. I owe them all the most important values in life.
@@SandraNelson063 Well... not the same kinda love I can feel but yeah... I wish I had a father like him but in someway I am a son of his. Gratitude is love and I'm full of love for "our" Bruce Springsteen.
It's absolutely insane. I have no heroes, but the two that come close is Bruce Springsteen, and Jon Stewart. The best part, they both understand why, but they both don't want to be seen as a hero ... now how fucking perfect is that.
Brilliant honoring. Bruce, Gary Clark Jr. and all that historical footage . Love it. Have seen many great programs with John. Thank you and Congratulations. # deserved # earned
Wow, Bruce with Gary Clark Jr. Found Gary Clark Jr about 5 years ago. I thought, shades of Jimmy Hendrix when I heard his guitar sound and licks. And John Stewart 😅 I love them each. Thanks to each of you, for making this life of mine more enjoyable ! 💙
wasn't as familiar w/gary clark before seeing the video but you can be sure i'll be checking more of his work out in the future. fantastic. and great to see the boss 'pay back' jon after stewart intro'd springsteen's kennedy center honors induction a few years back, one of the most hilarious, self-deprecating, touching and heartfelt moments ever on the k-c-h. per usual, bruce did not disappoint. ;)
@@janetmitchell4452 I don’t know what Beatles song your talking about but their lyrics could have been written by a 12 year old. Love me Do I saw her standing there, I want to hold your hand, They were simple lyrics and simple chords feel free to ask any musician.
Come together, the first song he sang here, is a Beatles song. Totally with you on Dylan and Springsteen but “I wanna hold your hand” is hardly representative for the Beatles work. Penny Lane, Eleanor Rigby and Golden Slumbers to name but a few.
@@costeris35 Sorry there is NO way the Beatles lyrics come anywhere close to Springsteen Dylan Steely Dan or even the Eagles. Now they do get credit for being some of the first Rock and Role music from England and their overall influence on other people
@@robertbyington7715 why don t you just have the decency to accept that Come Together is a Beatles track. Your initial comment was misleading that s all. No need to get so offensive in reply.
Holger - most excellent that you have posted these two performances in honour of the great Jon Stewart. Can we get you to do two things? Change 'John Steward' to 'Jon Stewart' , and add a reference to the great Gary Clark Jr. who leads on "Come together", the first track. You're the first up with this - and the only one so far - so a little fine tuning would make it even more perfect! Thanks.
I've changed and corrected it. Well, thanks for your constructively feedback! That helped more than 1k of narrow-minded grammar-lovers who''d never passed on any valuable content to the fans in their whole life on social media.
