Freddy Meyer hits Milan Lucic up high, Andrew Ference jumps him and a brawl breaks out. Lucic throws a punch at Meyer during the scrum and knocks him down, Nathan Horton dominates Evander Kane, and Marc Savard fights Bryan Little, on December 23, 2010. Uncut except for the removal of an ad, all replays and commentary included.

Milan Lucic - 5 minute match penalty, game misconduct
Nathan Horton - 5 minutes for fighting
Marc Savard - 5 minutes for fighting, game misconduct
Andrew Ference - 2 minutes for roughing, 5 minutes for fighting, game misconduct

I'll never forget this game. This was one of the statement games in the season for the Bruins. I remember the Bruins were struggling at this time and this was a very important win.

Savard is so awesome. Out 23 games with post concussion syndrome, from an horrid injury that pretty much ended his career, and he goes right to the heart of action. He swings first on little. I miss that dude. One of the best Bruins ever.

i guess literally no one in this comment section realizes that when a player puts their arms up above their head for a hit on a player who is taller than them, connecting with the head, it is not a "clean hit" it is pretty obviously targeting the head. Lucic would not get mad for no reason, he is a pretty intimidating player, he gets hit a lot, and despite what you all might think, he rarely reacts like this. He reacted for a good reason. and for the 12 year olds saying the Bruins can't fight.. i have nothing to say to you, maybe you should start watching some hockey

I fu*cking hate Boston and most of their fans and especially their announcers. That was a high hit to the head, yea, but it was delivered to the team that's probably given more head shots and done more dirty plays than any other team in the league. They're so hypocritical. You could probably put together an hour montage of all the dirty hits by them, and they don't see any problem with it, but as soon as someone delivers a big hit on them they're up in arms about it (Subban hit on Marchand for example). If you can't take a hit and make cleans plays, for the most part, quit. Oh and to dafoomie, it clearly shows in the replay that Meyer doesn't leave his feet or jump, but that's the typical Boston fan I guess.

Actually there isn't one single player on the Bruins that you could single out above the rest of the team. That's the point. Name another team that had (at this point in time) several players that had at least a few questionable hits. There isn't any from this century that I can think of. If you do let me know I'd be happy to hear it. To my knowledge there isn't any, and from watching sportscentre nearly every day there isn't any other team as hypocritical as them either - as proven in that video. By the way I like how you tell me I don't do my research and don't back it up even though I did and YOU didn't.

Jack Edwards is so frustrating. If you've ever heard him when he's not doing Bruin games or during the normal course of play, nothing out of the ordinary, he's pretty good. But when he gets all emotionally invested, his homerism has no bounds.

"targeting the head" is the MOST overused phrase in hockey. I have never seen someone purposefully hit someone in the head. It just happens in the flow of the play

So many things are wrong with the announcers. Saying they love Kane getting punched, saying Savard is throwing rights while he's getting destroyed, calling Meyer's hit suspendible, and failing to do anything else than brownnose the Boston players. Just terrible commentating, absolutely terrible.

He's an announcer for NESN which is owned by Jeremy Jacobs, the owner of the Bruins. It's only a regional sports network, so their broadcasts are aimed towards Bruins fans. Therefore he's biased.

Gotta love Edwards. He doesn't mention Lucic is striking a player being held by the referee. Then while Savard is just covering up, trying to avoid being hit, Edwards says "Savard is wailing away"
